This is not the case for the Britton Wallace Funeral Home in Auburn. My grandfather sadly passed away a week ago and his funeral was to be held at Britton Wallace. I had a very upsetting encounter at Britton and Wallace with Shannon. Shannon acted in a very unprofessional manner. She was extremely rude and disrespectful on the day of my grandfather's funeral as she tried to bully me into thinking I was not welcome there to grieve his passing. She showed absolutely no compassion and I am disgusted by how I was treated even after complying with the funeral home rules. If someone can't understand how to treat people who are in an emotionally vulnerable state, then they most certainly should not be in the funeral home business. I do not reccomend this horrible place to anyone who is trying to mourn the loss of a loved one.

But our experience…read morethere with my mother was so upsetting...and I had tried repeatedly for over a year after her burial to get someone to get back to me so I could get some fingerprint jewelry made as a tribute...no one has returned my calls or emails (left so many messages) and they did not answer the bell when I went there on two separate occasions (made sure cars were there and it was in the afternoon). They were rude and cold and disrespectful with our family's wishes. This is how it felt after we buried my mom. No one should feel that way at such a painful time in their lives. When my brother died, we went with Mercadante Funeral Home in Worcester and it was painfully obvious how horribly we were treated at Britton Wallace. It was amazing how different the experience was and how much more caring and beautiful our tribute to my brother was at Mercadante. I was saddened that we did not have the same care and amenities for my mother. You may not mind being treated as a business arrangement, but if you want compassion, respect, and someone to honestly take the time over and over again to help and support you throughout the funeral process, then you should NOT use Britton Wallace in Auburn MA for your loved ones.

There was just enough parking for the amount of people coming and going. The inside had multiple rooms for viewing, photos, sitting etc. They had a TV for a slideshow, it was a nice set up. The lighting was very nice , and they had a great layout for everything. We were very appreciative of their efforts and the event. Fantastic staff. Definitely recommend.

Having never needing to be the one to directly handle a life changing event like the passing of our…read morefather, Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel made us "feel like family" and walked us through the steps while allowing time as needed when it became very difficult to handle both the passing and handling of the funeral. Mr. Michael Farrow explained every step of the process, service selection, and even gave us options for the Mercy Meal after the service. If was if if he knew my father and the care and respect showed was greatly appreciated. Michael also helped us schedule the services as to not impact the family due to other services scheduled around the same time. Our father looked amazing and at peace, they did an amazing job--everyone was impressed. We were never rushed. We were able to make changes during the process as well with no issues or questions. Mercadante's also has kept in touch after the services were completed, this was not expected; yet welcomed as it has been helping us during the healing process.
