Beware of this company's policy on the NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. I used All Friends Pet Care one time before COVID hit. My one experience was good, but my second reservation cost me $396 for a cancellation made five weeks in advance. I made a reservation with All Friends Pet Care in April 2021 for Dec 11-23, 2021 vacation, which I had to cancel on Nov 4 due to my cruise getting cancelled. The 50% deposit was entirely non-refundable due to their non-refund policy which states: ***Please note our reservation policy: ALL reservations totaling $200 or more will be charged a non-refundable deposit equaling 50% of the job total in order to confirm the reservation.*** I submitted a complaint and Pam, one of the owners, called to tell me they are a small business, and this is what they have to do to stay in business. I also learned that All Friends Pet Care paid the pet sitter for the reservation even though it was cancelled over a month in advance and probably was backfilled with a new reservation. Perhaps this is creating their financial issues. I appreciate what it takes to be a small business, but this policy is excessive when compared to the competition and has cost them what would have been a repeat client. I have yet to find a cancellation policy so restrictive with any of their competitors and there are a lot of options available. (An example of the refund policy of a comparable pet sitting service: "Pet Sitting Visits: A cancellation fee of $25 will apply to all reservations cancelled within four days of the start date.") If you are making a reservation which has even the remote possibility of getting cancelled for any reason whatsoever, I strongly recommend another service provider. Do your research and if possible, find other options for reservations that exceed $200 a booking and, if you still choose to book with All Friends Pet Care, I would not book way in advance as I did, as there is not a benefit. read more

I was apprehensive about leaving my cat while I was out of town for a wedding, as she is very social and I hated the thought of leaving her. I moved to NOVA nearly three years ago from the Hampton Roads area. Before I moved, my only pet sitters were my wonderful friends and neighbors who were cat people themselves AND I had known for years. My two cats are my children - you can ask my husband who calls me "the crazy cat lady" (all in good fun of course). We are so happy (both humans and canine) with All Friends Pet Care. Our Lily has separation anxiety issues and this was her first time being alone. We had the help of neighbors for feeding and relief duties, but my daily walk through Frying Pan had not been covered. With the neighbor hood teens starting school the week we were gone I had to come up with a way to keep the routine going. I am not sure whether I heard about AFPC from Lily's vet or another dogwalker, but it worked out better than I expected. We were lucky enough to have Pam come by every weekday rain, shine, or superheat to give Lily the attention and exercise she craves. She and Lily became instant friends on the first meet up. They leave notes telling you about their visits and how your pets were; they will water your plants, get your mail, and our most recent sitter (Monica- she's really great!) even vacuumed on her last visit, without even being asked!
