I can't say enough good things about this business, specifically our kitty sitter Rob. My wife and I had a trip and like most trips we never want to leave these babies behind, and specifically feel terrible when we have to board them. I'll admit, I'm always a bit apprehensive having a stranger come into our home when we're away, especially if we have to leave Buster and Gracie behind, but they were in excellent hands. We were set at ease by daily reports from Rob, photos, videos, and a write up on their feedings, litter cleanings, and what these two were up to while we were away. Cat Sitting By Susan has been looking after Maki the Feral Afghan Refugee cat for several years now whenever we're out of town. They've never missed an appointment, and they take good care of Maki. Maki is pretty skittish and antisocial, but her visitors interact well with her - she climbs up on the armchair to be petted and likes to roll on her back to have her chest and belly rubbed. They clean her litter and refresh her water every visit, and send us several photos and a text visit summary each time. She is so thorough, sweet, and communicative, and from the pictures and videos she sends, my boys love her (the pics speak for themselves). I can't say enough good things about Cat Sitting by Susan. I recently requested their services for the second time and the care they showed for my cat was fantastic. They didn't just send a sitter for my snuggly, shy cat, they sent Ellie the cat whisperer. Both times I've had sitters from Cat Sitting by Susan, I was gone for nearly 2 weeks. Each time the sitters they sent quickly coaxed my shy cat out from her hiding place and immediately began spoiling her with cuddles. I wanted a sitter so my cat would be at ease with someone to feed her and take care of the practical things, but also scratch her ears, cuddle and play with her. It turned out that the daily reports, photos, and videos sent by the sitters allowed ME to be at ease as well and thoroughly enjoy my vacation. I cannot understate what incredible service Cat Sitting by Susan provided. We spent 2 weeks out of the country and it was so stress-free knowing how well Anna cared for our cats. We received updates every single day, including pictures and videos. It was so evident from these updates that our cats were doing well - Anna really got to know them and described their personalities and actions so well. We stayed up late every day (six hour time difference) just to receive our email update. They are so professional and thorough - litter boxes perfectly cleaned, food dishes cleaned, in-depth understanding of food/water needs. I am normally so anxious when we travel with concerns about our cats. I have been using their cat sitting service for around 4 years now and extremely happy with them. My cat, Lakshmi loves Erin (the sitter, who was first assigned to us, and I have since then requested her each time since Lakshmi has got to know her well). Erin not only is professional and gives me a detailed account of how her visit went along with pictures/videos, but I can also see that she genuinely cares about Lakshmi. We, on the other hand, would be waiting eagerly and delighted to read the detailed account of Erin's visit and feel happy that Lakshmi is doing well. There was one time, we needed to extend our stay and I requested Erin if she could do additional days of sitting and she readily agreed. We had been using Cat Sitting by Susan for over four years. We scheduled a cat visit a while ago that was scheduled to occur the end of this week. Unfortunately, due to all the air travel craziness that's been plastered on national news for days, our flight was cancelled and we weren't able to go on vacation. As a result, we no longer needed a cat sitter and reached out to Susan to cancel. She let us know that we can't be credited for a future visit because we were within the 72 hour cancellation window (we gave 48 hours notice). We had been loyal clients for over four years and never asked for special accommodations previously. We also had no control over our travel issues and very much wanted to go on our vacation. Instead of giving us a credit for a future visit, she decided to be unaccommodating and petty. We told her to cancel a future visit because we had decided to use a different service moving forward. Within minutes (no exaggeration), she removed our account from the platform. We will no longer be using Cat Sitting by Susan because of this experience. We'll be using another local service (that already walks our dog) who charges about 33% less and allows for every other day visits. For other clients of Susan, be aware of her cancellation policy, complete lack of flexibility regardless of circumstances, and considerably higher prices. read more

Wow. I could not recommend Cat Sitting by Susan more. I am a 30 year old with a busy social and traveling schedule and was really concerned about cat care when one of my sweet cats got a diagnosis of Diabetes, which requires twice daily insulin shots 12 hours apart. This required a significantly more dedicated cat care schedule than prior, when I'd have friends and family come over to fill up food and water when their schedules allowed. Obviously not possible with Diabetes! Enter: Cat Sitting by Susan. Susan was really helpful in getting my visits scheduled, even with last minute trips and requests for help. She personally texted me to ensure we were all set to go with care instructions and a confirmed visit. I've had amazing sitters as well. Shoutout to Monica and Marielle. WOW. Their care for my babies is so apparent. I was laughing aloud at Monica's detailed log of their visit- she cared for Boots the EXACT way I do when I'm home (sitting on the bathroom floor with her so she eats her food, for example- she can be finnicky!). So funny how instinctual they were. Their care for kitties is so apparent in their reviews and their affection just oozes. Additionally, as mentioned above, Boots has diabetes and it's apparent that the sitters are trained in delivering medication- it was no problem for them and they put me at ease. What a relief it was to hire this company to take care of my cats when my husband and I had to make an emergency trip to California. Of all the things I had to stress about on this trip, securing care for my cats wasn't one of them. My sitter, Sabrina, came by twice a day to give them food and love and clean their litter. Since the 17-year old house guest cat required medicine twice day, I could not rely on a neighborhood kid. I needed reliability and experience. Their pre-sign up questions were thorough. They did not come to my house physically in advance; however, we walked around with video. It all worked out great. Olivia's text and email updates were very detailed and would put any owner at ease. My mother was very impressed too. I think my litter boxes have never been this clean! (a new aspiration). This was more than I usually pay, but very worth it for the service I required.
