Dirt, dust, all the calcium chloride pellets we'd track into our house and our Beagle's frequent urination due to her diabetes, took a hard beating on our original hardwood floors. Hubs would used Mop & Glo® every 6 months (maybe more than that) to give our floors a quick finish and shine- but over time, it just gave our floors a dull look. Got quotes from 2 different companies- with one of them visiting our house for an in-person consultation- but hubs felt his schtick wasn't solid. Hubs felt All Hardwood Floors' company's bio was straight to the point minus the gimmick and secured this job with the first payment (2nd during completion). Marcio and his 2 Portuguese-speaking guys came to our house 7:45 bright and early on a Saturday. Our house was a blank canvas before the guys came- as hubs and I had already cleared our house (entryway with a step, hallway, living room and dining room) a day prior. They took extra measures to plastic-cover our wall paintings and picture frames, kitchen was covered top to bottom and even though our doors were closed all the way, they sealed every slit with Painter's Tape. We opted for the 'Dustless' process- instead of the old-school process which leaves a lot of dust and lingers in the air even after the job is completed. The end result was fabulous and as their contract states- there was little to no dust after all was said and done. We've used them twice, unfortunately their customer service has deteriorated. The actual workers were quite young but did a decent job. After installation, we had another contractor (*not* from the Hardwood place) damage one 2-ft piece prior to being sanded. Of course, not All Hardwood's fault! But we asked if it could be replaced prior to sanding/staining both with the foreman and the actual worker who came out, who both said "no problem!" Unfortunately they forgot, leaving quickly when finished. I kept trying to bring it up, and when Andy finally responded 10 days later, he claimed it was now too difficult as they'd already sanded/stained... yes, which is why I'd pushed so hard to have it fixed before! It's common in construction to need to fix issues other trades caused. Charging extra would be fine at the stage when a repair is cheap! But instead they skipped over a small repair that's now going to be a bigger pain to fix after the fact, and took no responsibility for their oversight. The attitude is obviously a piecemeal approach - each guy wants to show up and get in and get out as fast as possible. read more

Very impressed! I checked out a few hardwood flooring firms, and decided on All Hardwood Floors. Andy is very professional and articulate. He and his staff are very receptive to emails and phone calls. His prices are in line with the other firms, and significantly lower than general contractors. Shortly after going through all of the details, Andy sent me a contract. All of the work and expectations were clearly described. There were zero questions about what would be done, what would not be done, and how long the job would take. There were also zero questions about what would be expected of me (e.g. moving furniture, thermostat settings). His workers showed up on time, on the days they were scheduled. Andy and his team were terrific to work with! My wife and I recently bought a house in Fairfield, which was almost 100 years old. As a new homeowner, I had no idea how to go about restoring the wood floors, so hit up All Hardwood Floors to come give us an estimate. Andy came to my house at a time I told him would be convenient for me, and talked my wife and I through the whole process. He was totally upfront about what he would recommend we do, and was honest about what we should spend money on. For instance, the floors upstairs were pretty good as-is, and Andy didn't add any pressure for us to redo those. Had our floors redone a month ago. Floors look great, however customer service and communication was flawed. At first they thought they were coming to do the job a week before it was supposed to happen. Then they neglected to mention that the baseboards might get messed up. (Which I had just painted). There was confusion on if they were giving me a credit (which they did) or redoing the baseboards for me. They also left their trash here, which ok no biggy but then said they would come get it and never did. Like I said, floors look great, however communication was horrible. We recently had our hardwood floors refinished. Andy Ross was completely professional and accommodating - even agreeing to do the job in spite of not initially being able to come in and measure due to Covid. His estimate was spot on - no surprise charges or fees. He also worked with me to come up with an option that fit within our budget. Perhaps most importantly, the finished product is wonderful! The floors look brand new in spite of being 30+ years old. We had a minor issue when we returned, and Andy came over with the people who had done the work to fix it immediately. We were in the process of buying a home and knew we wanted to have the floors done prior to moving in. I called Andy (who came recommended to me) to set up a time to inspect the floors, give us a quote, and to arrange a time to do the work. Andy was quick and professional. He set up an inspection with the realtor (I didn't even have to be there) and followed up the next day with a quote via email to confirm the work and the cost. The quote was reasonable, and though we didn't want to stain the floors, those prices were included. After locking it in, we set up a time for him to do the work, a week from the phone call. We gave Andy a call to price out refinishing our hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and three bedrooms. The kitchen floors needed to be replaced completely and weaved into the dining room to patch up a hole from where a wall used to be. Andy was extremely responsive and came over within a couple of days to review the scope. He provided a quote by that evening. To our luck, he came in half the price of many other people we had price out the work. Andy was able to accommodate our quick schedule and had his guys over within a few days to install the new floor. He was able to prepare a few test spots on our floor with our favorite colors so we could see which ones worked best in each room. He gave us a few days to finish moving our furniture before staining and sealing the floors. It took three days to finish up and his team was quick, clean, efficient, and diligent. They were even able to repair some missing floor areas around our closets. Our baseboards remained clean and unstained and they did a good job at keeping dust contained. Throughout the entire process Andy was extremely responsive. He returned my emails, phone calls, or texts within an hour and was helpful with everything from letting me know when to expect his crew to making color suggestions based on what we said we were looking for. Contacted me to tell me he was on his way and I explained that we would be there at 6:20. He advised me that he had another appointment at 6:30 and would Come at eight. 830 and no call or contact. I contacted All Hardwood Floors LLC get a quote for the repair of an apartment bedroom floor. A tenant had damaged the hardwood floor with a dripping air conditioner. Andrew Ross of All Hardwood Floors came out to quote the job. At first I was pleased with his quote and help. I told him that I expected to give them the job. I was interested in having more than just the repair done making this a two part job. Trying to determine the most cost effective way to go, I played a bit of "what if" and asked Mr. Ross to quote the job several times. When this was done I decided to go forward with one of the earliest quotes. Mr. Ross had revised his quotes each time a change was made. This deleted the earlier versions. When I wanted to return to the early quote, Mr. Ross simply would not reproduce his earlier work. When I told him that we could not go forward, he told me that "I am sorry that we can do business." I have 4 bedrooms and long hallway that needed the floors to be sanded and strained. I called 3 different floor Companies to get prices. As soon as I met Andy the owner of all hardwood floors I knew immediately regardless of his price I would be hiring him . His mannerism his attention to detail and his caring concern for what I wanted was evident from the time he walked in the door . We had waited a couple months to get the job done and when I called him to schedule it he knew who I was immediately it was immediately. His price was the same as it had been the 1st time out which was actually better than the other 2 companies with more options i.e. Options of custom coloring stain.. The other companies did not have custom coloring options. We were able to schedule it within a 2 week time frame. And the gentleman who worked for him came to the house picked a color and they started working immediately . This is the best part after the job was done I had some concerns about a couple of places on the floor that I thought needed repair And I also was concerned about some of the coloring on the floor. Had has this been any other company in and I believe I would have been out of luck. The attention I was given from not only Andy but his it is manager who was also involved in the flooring was unsurpassed. I just wanted to share my experience with All Hardwood Floors. After coming across the rating for this company, I decided to look into it. At first Andy seemed very nice and knowledgeable. He kindly answered questions about the materials used, etc. He came out to measure and provided me flyers telling me all about the good customer service and the excellent ratings. The next day, he came with one single sample showing a finish that was not close to the finish I was looking to match from my upstairs. He told my partner and I that we can purchase prefinished options from other vendors. I asked for pricing to submit to my insurance and he sent me a quote for unfinished glued down floor. I made sure to tell him that we we had just started our flooring search so we may still go with a prefinished option. He never mentioned or even offered showing us prefinished flooring samples. He only provided us with a flyer showing minwax and another brand of stain finishes. I called recently to ask a few questions and he tells me the quote originally provided was for square footage of about 100 sq ft less than my space, even though he had measured. I then ask Andy to provide me accurate pricing for unfinished glued and floating floor options, as well as the cost to install prefinished flooring. I received the quote for all four options on one documents that listed a material cost line of almost $3000 that was listed for prefinished flooring, with a note for an addition $450 cost of I get the flooring from another vendor. I ask him if he can clarify what the costs are for. He then tells me he offers prefinished flooring. I found this confusing. He never so much as offered to show me samples. I proceeded to tell him that I previously asked him about prefinished flooring and he had told me "you can purchase it from many vendors in the area." I believe he even stated that there were several vendors in stratford or some place like that. He responded with an attitude stating "No I sell about 10,000 sq feet of pre finish a month. I'm not sure where the disconnect was." I tell him that after providing me a wrong quote that I sent to my insurance, and providing me conflicting information about prefinished options, I'd need to think about it and I thanked him for his time. He then responds telling me he "finds it best if I find another provider." I'm really surprised how quickly Andy's character changed with me after pointing out discrepancies. I give him two stars for responding promptly with questions and coming out to measure quickly, but how useful is that if the information provided is wrong and/or incomplete? I appreciate his time but the attitude is really not what I expected after seeing his reviews. read more

My wife and I called Hardwood Floors LLC / Kleen Floors in early June to refinish hardwood floors in a new home we expected to close in late June. We worked primarily with George, who was highly responsive, polite, friendly, kind, and helpful throughout the process. We initially selected the company due to low price and flexibility around start date. My wife was 9 months pregnant at the time of our move, so ability to get in immediately after closing and complete the job in a timely fashion was paramount. George first visited on a Sunday to walk through the house and give us a quote on a day we planned to visit the house from Brooklyn. Initially, we planned to refinish the first floor, stairs, and upstairs hallway, but George pulled back carpet in one of the bedrooms and identified hardwood in great condition underneath. We decided to tear up all carpet and refinish both floors in the end (~2,300 sq. ft. of hardwood, or ~75% of my house). George helped us select a dark walnut stain, took down a 50% deposit, and agreed to a start date of July 2nd (holiday weekend). The actual process and end product went far beyond expectations. George sent a team in led by Sebastian that quickly removed the upstairs carpet (through a sister handyman company), neatly stored all carpet and construction debris in two locations, did a beautiful job sanding, walked us through the house at various steps to outline minor issues (e.g., small gap between floor and baseboard in one bedroom), and communicated well throughout the process. At the end all carpet and trash was removed from the site and I received a text letting me know when it was OK to enter the house. The team worked three days total to complete a two floor job over a holiday weekend, only taking off July 4th. Thanks to their hard work, we were able to move in on July 6th before my wife's due date. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome and would hire them over and over again. In the end, Kleen Floors was not the cheapest option ("no stain" quote was very competitive but at least one other "stain" quote was ~7.5% cheaper), but once we started through the process with George it became apparent that this isn't something you contract out to the absolute lowest bidder. The floors look absolutely brand new throughout. Once we are able to paint the walls, our home will look 30 years newer. We highly recommend Kleen Floors for your next floor refinishing. read more

My wife and I hired Andy to redo floors we had installed a month prior. The original installers did a fantastic job laying the floor but a very poor job staining and sealing. We had a trip planned for the coming week and asked Andy if he could complete the refinish on a very short notice. A few months go by and we receive a package from Andy and it is a bottle of his own floor cleaner along with a follow up note on care.
