TERRIBLE!!! When I called them to discuss our situation, I spoke with an intake person and was…read morevery clear about our needs. We ONLY wanted a back up emergency service available if someone became unavailable and our current staff could not cover. This intake person said that was def possible with Island Home Nursing and said said I would receive a call from a case manager who would set up an appt to visit the house. I was suppose to hear back in 2 days. 7 days later I called and asked why I never heard from the case manager, they couldn't explain why I hadn't received a call. I finally did, and someone came to the house. This weekend I needed that emergency back up so I called them. The administrator called me back and told me "we don't do that kind of thing." When I asked her why the intake person told me they DID and the reason I didn't call Visiting Nurses Visiting Nurses (800-624-2714), another agency is Homewatch Caregivers at (425-778-1288) is because the intae person here, told me they did do emergency back up. In addition, the administrator was VERY unprofessional and VERY rude. She did not apologize for the confusion and then she hung up on me. If you care about your parents or any elderly people and you're looking for help do not let these people add to your already broken heart.

Island Home Nursing has been a big part of my life the past few months. A time in my life that…read morewould have been very hard to adjust too came very easily for me because of Island Home Nursing. The caregivers are friendly, kind, and helpful. The staff in the office works very hard to assist with difficult needs for our loved ones. I look forward to working with them because of their professional friendly ways. I would highly refer then to anyone.

Please do not hire Homewatch CareGivers of Western WA. Their caregivers have very little training…read more They are on their personal phones and I Pads all day. They neglect your loved one. They don't check if medications are actually taken, don't engage with your loved one and leave them in the same depend for days. Management is poor and does not care about the family. There was a revolving door of caregivers and very little communication. The Payment was all they cared about. DO NOT USE!!!!!!

EGREGIOUS LACK OF CARE my mother was subjected to was nothing short of elder abuse under the care…read moreof the caregivers at HomeWatch Mountlake Terrace. My mother's home became a revolving door of caregivers who had little to no training and no training in dementia care. We received a caregiver who had little to no command of the English language, speaking or writing. Two caregivers left our mother in soiled depends for extended periods of time. One caregiver manipulated our mother into believing her deceased husband was waiting for her in the kitchen for the reason to coax her into drinking tea at the kitchen table; appalling and unethical tactic when dealing with a dementia patient who cannot distinguish between reality and deception. Same caregiver started spreading lies about one sister claiming she was negligent and uncaring. This is the one sister/daughter who has taken our mother to church and brunch every Sunday for over 5 years plus. Our mother lights up every Sunday when she arrives to take her to church. Another caregiver never engaged our mother; hence, providing her with the social interaction she desperately needs. She consistently ignored our mother's attempts at conversation; caregiver spent her days talking on her cell phone. This is not caregiving; it is abandonment. She was depriving our mother every day of the human connection and care she deserved. Another caregiver stepped over the line of employee and employer. She believed she controlled the other caregivers, demeaned family members and became demanding at times. She openly criticized family members' choices if they did not match hers. Her oversteps lead to the decline in the quality of care she provided. The thread that tied these failures togethers was the gross mismanagement of HomeWatch's Manager, Mountlake Terrace. She repeatedly demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, maturity, and competence in her role. Note: All of the negligence and elder abuse has been downloaded on in-home cameras. Cameras which the State encouraged once we had 24/7 in-home care. We have found an organization that is professional, provides 75 hours of training plus dementia training, all caregivers are certified, extensive background checks... There are a number of very good companies in Washington State. Take the time and do the work to find the company that will provide your love one with the care they richly deserve.
