Special shout-out to Makayla who really seemed to keep the whole team on track, organized and high energy throughout the day! As far as the move itself, nothing was damaged and all critical items made it over on the move day! There were a few very minor items missed during the pack and move, so I'd suggest reviewing the team's work carefully, but I think this is probably normal for a chaotic process with lots of moving pieces.

On May 20 2026, a Collegs Hunks truck pulled down our cable…read moreline. There was damage to the siding, fascia, trim, and also pulled our electrical meter off the house with the siding. They said they would fix all the damage as well as reimburse us $1000 for the inconvenience. Their contractors painted the house the wrong color, they never relaced any damged wood or trim. They did not fix the fascia, or properly caulk the large gaps that now exist in the affected area they created. They then informed us they would not be reimbrsing us as they had previously stated. If you are in the greater Kalamazoo area I would look elsewhere for a company that keeps its word.

They asked each time where the boxes went, and when they left, none of the boxes where in the right spots. I could go on and on about how bad this was. (These kids/men) did not want to work, did not have any experience at all and literally had to be watched the whole time and didnt even listen to anything hardly at all. It really seemed like they did this on purpose, walking slow, didnt show up even with 1 dolly, we spoke about using dollies for heavy boxes, real heavy. They show up and didnt want to move them, because they had no dollies? A moving company with no dollies? They showed up almost 6 hours early and wondered why we are not ready. etc. The group of children we got, basically got paid huge to do very little. 1 guy spent an hour taking apart a couch that didnt even need to, and he argued that point for 10 mins. He also needed 2 others help to do this. We got it in through this hall with out taking apart, weve have never had to take it apart. He takes it apart anyway. (that was 200 dollars). They gave a discount, but really, they moved about 25% stuff compared to the last guys we used, moved almost all our stuff in the same time frame. This was just real bad service from people who really didnt know how to move or pack at all, some of them looked like they was 16. Making fun of us around the corner, talking on the phone, using phones while working, etc. We ended up having to move most all of our heavy boxes that we hired them to do. I caught one guy taking out a broom, he was gonna carry a broom the whole way to the truck. We hired you to lift and move the large boxes... i say... he kept walking and i had to grab it from his hand and tell him again, NO. This is not a heavy box.... I assume they sent newbies but really, we could have done it all ourselves better and faster. We should have. This time. Hopefully they hire people who actually care... We got a bunch of kids who cant read or write it seems?

They did not disappoint. Ben and team were prompt and communicative from the very beginning. Although we hit a few scheduling snags, they stayed committed and got the job done. All of this without any damage as they ensured the walls and floors were protected. They ended up doing packing, hauling away trash and moving property all in one day! It took under 2 hours to load the truck, and 4 hours (!!!) to unload - and the move was only completed in that 6 hour time frame because I hired two additional movers from a different company who were over in moments, thankfully, because the poor kid from Oody was falling asleep on the job, literally any time he was still. The guys who showed up were young (early 20s), they were scheduled for 3pm, we were their second move for the day, but the third shift for one of the movers who was clearly totally exhausted after working another job all night - so he was awake for 24 hours at 5pm. I was clear with management that we had large pieces and we needed guys who could lift it. That was not communicated well, and what should have been an "easy job" was a total mess due to the lack of leadership from Oody. I was so frustrated and upset - all our home ultimately needed be unloaded onto the lawn and then taken up to the apartment so we could get the pieces that didn't fit into a storage unit, and these movers off the clock. It cost 2 hours more than the quoted 4 hours expected (and quoted) for 6 hours total. It ended up costing me twice what was quoted by the time I got the move done and paid all the guys at both companies. I needed strong end lifters for a straightforward move, and that was not what I got. Even with the furniture not fitting, that should not have resulted in the 6 hours of work. I was on a budget, they blew my budget, they did not provide an adequate response to the dilemma (like sending out their own men to help finish the job, without charging me extra for not being able to do it as promised), and the half hour they cut off the bill because of the trouble was inadequate compensation for the problematic situation they created. I called to discuss this with the manager, and I continue to wait to hear back. Since I haven't heard from him yet, I decided that it was appropriate to give an honest review of my experience with the company. I will not be using them again.
