I wish I could leave a better Yelp review for Quick Tripp Roadside Assistance because owner PJ was…read morepolite and nice and this appears to be a small, local business. However, my wife would have still been left stranded on the interstate in Fayetteville - or worse, potentially in an accident from driving on a very underinflated tire - had I not been on the phone with her and had her check the air pressure in her spare tire. My wife got a flat and had to pull over on the right shoulder on I-295 north just before exits 21 A-B-C (All American Frwy, Bragg Blvd). Long story short, PJ replaced the flat with the car's spare. My wife asked PJ if the spare was safe to drive on and he said yes, judging by the look of it. He should have checked the tire pressure. Instead, he told her she was good to go and left. PJ charged $45, payable via credit card (Square), which we thought was fair. My wife asked if she could leave a $5 tip and PJ rang her up for an even $50. If you want to leave PJ a tip, you need to tell him before he processes the transaction (there wasn't a tip-after option). I was on the phone with my wife and asked her to check the pressure in the spare before she got back on the highway. The spare was at 10 PSI and needed air. My wife has a portable car tire air pump/compressor. In her attempt to inflate the spare, the spare ended up going flat too. So, my wife was still stranded on the highway. I told her to call PJ and have him come back. Thankfully, he did. He inflated the cold spare to 45 PSI - high for a small car like a Corolla, but OK. Fortunately, my wife was able to drive her car home safely to Chapel Hill (about a 1.25-hour drive) and we went to Discount Tire the next morning. When PJ first showed up, his air pump was broken, so he had to use my wife's air pump. Luckily, she carries one in her car. Otherwise, I'm not sure PJ would have been able to help her. When PJ came back to help my wife inflate the spare, he brought with him a working air pump. In the time he left and came back, maybe he went to get a working one. Along with being polite and nice, PJ was also prompt. When my wife first called him, he said he would be to her in 15 minutes. He was on time. When my wife called him to return, he showed up again in 15 minutes. His response time was great. I also have to mention that PJ attempted to fix the flat, but the tire wouldn't hold air. We appreciated the attempt and his help overall. He told my wife he's been doing this for about 3.5 years. My wife found Quick Tripp Roadside Assistance by Googling "roadside assistance." Google recommended Quick Tripp based on her location. I do think Quick Tripp is worth calling, but you need to have some basic car knowledge/education yourself to be safe. I think PJ showed up faster than a service like AAA would. Also, AAA isn't perfect. One of the customers that showed up to Discount Tire the next day with us had AAA Roadside Assistance help her replace a flat with a spare. In doing so, AAA screwed her lug nuts on wrong - some fell out and some seized into the wheel due to being screwed on at an angle. Yikes. Be careful out there, folks.
