We drove from Orange County to purchase three 6-week old chickens to add to our flock. The store staff were very helpful and assisted us with selecting our chickens as well as food/treats. Unfortunately, all 3 have now died at 16-17 weeks old from what we believe to be Marek's disease. We learned too late that the chickens weren't vaccinated - our fault for not verifying this before we purchased them, but we don't want others to have to go through the same thing we did. We would return for food and supplies, but don't plan to acquire any unvaccinated chickens in the future. read more

I wanted to like this place more than I did. I'm a huge fan and a regular at both Baseline Burgers and Little Red Thrift Shoppe that are located in the same little plaza and was hoping this could be a good little spot to add to my one-a-month weekend visit. The pros of All Pet Feed & Tack are they are a locally owned shop with a pretty decent selection of things for a variety of different pets -- cats, dogs, chickens, birds, reptiles, etc. The prices were maybe a little higher than a big box store, but that's to be expected. They were still mostly fair and competitive. The reason that I likely won't be returning is because the staff made the experience somewhat uncomfortable, and that's a really turn-off for me. I felt like I was immediately treated as a potential shoplifter from the moment I set food through the doors and set off a much-louder-than-necessary ringing to alert that someone has entered. As I moved through the store with my child, I very much felt like I was being "monitored" way more than was necessary, which is always disappointing, to be honest. Especially considering the more welcoming, laid back vibes and outstanding customer service at the other establishments in the plaza. I felt like we weren't allowed to be in the store to browse or look around. Not a fan. Bummer. read more

All Pet Feed & Tack is a wonderful locally-owned old-style pet and feed store that is located on Baseline Ave near the border of Highland and San Bernardino. They've been around for over 30 years and are one of those places that all the locals know about, and quite frankly you should too! The location itself is kind of a "Blink and you miss it" place, located in a very small plaza along with a coffee shop and a small thrift store. There are a couple of large statues of barn animals out front to guide your way, though! Also, the parking lot is kind of small, so parking can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. Don't let any of this deter you, however! What sets All Pet apart from other normal pet stores is the variety of different animals for which they sell products. Dogs, cats, fish, horses, bunnies, pigs, and all kinds of other animals! The shop combines all the products of a traditional pet store with many you'd find in more rural locations. They even sell 5-in-1 pet vaccines and antibiotics (Amoxicillin, Keflex, Tetracycline, etc) that are labeled for fish, but...well, let's just say "if you know, you know". LOL. The workers here are always very friendly and helpful, with an emphasis on customer service. They also sell a lot of food in bulk and are very happy to help load what you buy into your car or truck. In fact, they insist on helping with the heavier stuff! Very highly recommended if you live anywhere in the area and may have some special pet needs, or even some unusual pets that you can't find products for. ****TRIGGER WARNING: RACISM**** I want to start by saying that I've been shopping here for years. Never a complaint. Until today. My husband and I were shopping for dog food and treats when the woman at the register very loudly starts a conversation with another employee about "black people" and how "ashy" they are and that that's why we buy up all the lotion. I was disgusted. Many different races utilize lotion. That was so racist and disgusting that I didn't finish my shopping. I almost didn't purchase what was in my hands! But I went specifically to her register to let her know that I heard her. Her response was "sorry you took it the wrong way ". This is completely unacceptable. As a small business owner myself, any one of my employees who thought that this was funny to say and do to the point that everyone in the store can hear it, would be fired on the spot. Unprofessional, racist and disgusting behavior. I'm so disappointed. You have lost a customer because I will not return to any establishment that tolerates this kind of behavior. read more

After Braken Bird Farm closed I shopped here, good selection of dog food, but I always came out sad due to the housing condition the birds had to endure. The water dishes always nasty. The cold birds' room is shared with the mice and rats room. Really upsetting combination. If rats are lose, they can easily attack the birds in the cages that are set near the floor. Last year I saw seven baby mice mutilated by the big rats. Now I avoid visiting the place because they don't change the setting for the animals even though people have pointed out the problem. I was really impressed with the customer service here. I'd been shopping and researching via Google for pine pellets in 40-lb bags. Google shopping links lead me to a lot of nothing although it would show me the products were available at Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot, etc etc, but in actuality, all of those stores are OUT OF STOCK constantly of this item. Phone calls to those stores were aggravating and unhelpful, too. All Pet Feed never did show up in the Google results but I remember going there before Christmas to look at cat toys and treats, so I called them this morning to see if they carried pine pellets. A real person answered the phone. They do carry them and they're in store, ready to buy right now. She didn't need to put me on hold or check the inventory on the computer. So I showed up at the store and a gentleman asked me right away if he could help me find something, and as soon as I said what I wanted, he was off to get it. While he got it, the lady at the register heard what I'd asked for and rung me up on the spot. Then the gentleman returned with my items and put them in my car for me, all with the utmost cordiality and efficiency. My dog was not feeling good she had messed up her leg. I couldn't get her to a vet. They recommended some aspirin for her pain. They also let me know what she was missing in her diet and how I wasn't feeding her enough. In a couple of days my dog was all better. They also recommended some vitamins. A different time I came not knowing what brand of dog food I had previously purchased. They looked me up through their rewards system and found it. A nice gentleman carried it to my car for me.
