We travel quite a…read morebit on the weekends to OKC, WINSTAR Casino in Thackerville and Dallas and the staff treats our Benny so well that it just makes sense to leave him in their living care. They know and greet him by name and he is always ecstatic upon his return. Benny has also had the vet services a few times and gets his medications for flea and heart work here so this clinic takes care of us without fail. When Benny had a food allergy and broke out in hives he went through his medicated body spray quickly and we didn't have to make another vet appt. to get a refill. There's been times when they have performed mini vet checkups while he's there for boarding and/grooming and the rate is very low. Overall it's just so convenient. Western Prairie has very caring staff and I am happy to use them for all our pet needs.

When I went to pick my dogs ashes a girl was coming out of the door crying and holding her dogs collar and leash. You know what she had just been through. I got my dogs ears cropped at this clinic due to its good reviews and past experience of the…read moredoctor, however, the care my dog received was miles from what I had anticipated. While the staff is friendly it became harder and harder for me to convince myself that they knew what they were doing. My first concern was right after surgery when my dog walked out with blood dripping down his face from being able to scratch the stitches. I assumed they had forgotten his cone, but when I asked for one, I was told to buy my own. Everything went fine and the bleeding slowed down for a few days but on day 4 of post-crop, my dogs ears had an awful smell. I then called and asked if the bandages needed to be removed and I was told no. The smell got worse in the next few days and I became more concerned so I called again and was told by the receptionist to take them off after she said the Dr. was too busy to ask him about it. That same day, I took the bandages off with the help of three others and come to find out, he was not itching because his ears hurt. He was itching because there was a metal rod digging into the top of his head causing a VERY obvious infection. Frantically, I try to get ahold of the vet on emergency hours but he was "not taking emergencies for the next few days" (come to find out: he wasn't taking them for the next month). I was given no option but to leave a message and wait until the morning and even then, not a single call was returned. A week later I took my dog back in to see if he was ready to have the stitches removed. Upon picking him up, I found out that they were indeed removed and I was ensured that he had been cleaned up before his ear posting. Two days pass and his posting has collapsed and the smell is back. Again, I have to take the bandages off, but I was not prepared for what was underneath. The infection was now on his ears and his wounds were completely opened. I took him to another vet to get a second opinion and when the doctor came out, he asked, "can I have the name of clinic that did this to your dog?" Finally, I knew I wasn't just paranoid and something was very wrong. I was then told by two different doctors that my dog needed reconstructive surgery and $200 worth of medicine. In addition, I had to purchase the materials to post my dogs ears at home out of the fear of taking him back. I can only hope that my dog's experience is not a common occurrence for this clinic and I hate to leave such a review considering I have never used yelp in my life, but I would hate for this to happen to anyone else's beloved pet.

I visited the MWAH on 11/29/2025 and let them know my male cat was having troubles after he used…read morethe bathroom, was acting out of character, having issues with the restroom and uncomfortable. They firstly ignored the problems I described and wanted to do X-rays on him because they believed he had asthma, they refused to run ANY tests since I didn't want to do the X-ray for his breathing when we were there for his discomfort around his potty time. They then stated his potty issues was from eating fleas and they gave him something to clear up the "parasite". I did insist that I wasn't sure THAT was what was causing his discomfort because it only happened when he went to use the bathroom, I paid over $165 for this visit and was told I'd need to bring him back in a month for a follow up. That wasn't also including the other medication they were insisting he needed for fleas ect. (He had no fleas and is treated regularly for them) I trusted this vet when my instincts kept telling me the "parasite" wasn't the problem it was something else. I continued to monitor him until I was supposed to bring him back, however On 12/27/2025 we had to rush him to ANOTHER vet in town where he was diagnosed with a severe UTI and had to be put under and a catheter was inserted to save his life. I would not trust this place with my pet or my money EVER again. They ignored CLEAR signs from my cat he was in clear distress and needed help. They are MONEY hungry and will shoo you out of the door as long as they get as much money from you as possible. I would highly HIGHLY think twice before having a member of your family treated here.
