They failed to complete the job, leaving parts of our home exposed to the weather for two full months. We hired Clarkston Roofing to re-roof our home and install aluminum siding on 10 windows. The salesperson recommended adding five roof vents ("roof cans"), which we agreed to. When the crew completed the roofing, I noticed they hadn't installed the extra vents. Only after I pointed it out did they correct the oversight. That alone raised red flags about their attention to detail. The real trouble started with the aluminum window siding. When I showed Tony how poorly it was done, he admitted it wasn't up to his standard and promised to "get his best siding guy on it." That was on May 12th. It's now July 12th--two months later--and no one has returned to complete the work. Meanwhile, our windows remain exposed. I had to repeatedly call Tony week after week, only to hear excuses like, "He's on a big job, he'll be there next week." Every promise turned out to be empty. The lack of follow-through and professionalism has been appalling. I paid in full the roofing portion, in cash, trusting that they would honor the agreement and deliver the rest of the work on our signed purchase order agreement. I didn't haggle or delay payment, trying to support the crew and show good faith. That was a big mistake--they took the money and never came back. This company does not stand behind its word or its work. I would not recommend Clarkston Roofing to anyone.

My only request was that the steps match the current exterior used on both the patio and house. I was assured this would happen. This detail was discussed in my initial yelp email (see screen shot image) as well as with the quote during our two interactions at the house, prior to initiating the work. I was open to the direction the steps would go and how many steps were needed for the space and allowed him to do what would work best in a small space. Please review his quote stating *brick match samples with Greg" and additional details of the promised work. Unfortunately, the day Greg and his team came I was not able to be home and he sent me the photos attached upon completion. I contacted him and said that his work was not what we agreed to or what we paid for. He came to the house and after about an hour of discussion, he reluctantly agreed to add brick veneer to the stairs to match the house (not what we wanted but better than nothing so the stairs would match and have a finished look). He said the work would be completed within 3 weeks (see receipt). Greg gave me his word, said he was a decent guy and wanted to leave us happy with the work that was performed. All seemed ok! At the 3 week mark he responded that he "did not forget" about me and would complete the job on August 7th or 8th. He did not show up on either of those days. Now he won't return my calls or my texts. The work that Greg's company completed was unnecessary for a mason. Any handyman can build stairs out of concrete cinder blocks and put a pre made step sill on top and I'm pretty sure they would do it for a lot less than $2,800. I'm sad to say that I was ripped off by someone who I thought was young, positive, and working hard to create a good local business. I regret not going with the other quote from a mason with far more experience. I think he is overwhelmed and overpriced. He told me his last business fell apart - I'm guessing some of what we've experienced with him is the reason behind that. If you see his FB reviews, it appears that he has used stolen images from his prior employment and claimed them as his own. Perhaps others will use him and have better outcomes but be aware that he makes empty promises, his work ethic is non existent and the work completed is really nothing to write home about.

My husband outreached to them and NO response. We had a man come out to clean our gutters and looked at that area. The shingles are pried up. The wood underneath is rotted and the top of the downspout is exposed. We have had two roofing companies come out and look at it. We have gotten estimates each in the thousands to fix it. Both companies pointed out separately to us that whoever fixed it that last time (Ridge to Valley) did a "half assed job".....their words, not mine. It's incredibly disappointing that we couldn't even get so much as a response even if it's to say they're too busy. In one case, their quote was less than half of a competitor from the Detroit area that was trying to break into our market in mid-Michigan. (What a scam - and it's proof that on big items it definitely pays to get more than one quote.) We were impressed by the way they kept the clean-up constantly going from taking off the old shingles until the job was completed. They took great care with our substantial landscaping too. The team showed up when promised and finished the re-roofing quickly within a few days. The owner was wonderful to deal with, and we were very happy with the job they did.
