From the first visit they gave off a solid vibe. Straightforward about what would be done and what kind of timeline to expect. I didn't feel like they were trying to upsell or talk in circles like some others do. Once the work started they kept that same energy. showed up when they said they would and stayed on track. I've had jobs before where people just vanish for days or don't say anything when things change, but with these guys, I always knew what was happening. Communication was probably one of the best parts. They'd actually check in and give me heads up if something needed a decision or if a delivery was running late. I made a couple last minute changes during the process (moved a light, swapped a fixture, small stuff) and they didn't act like it was a huge issue. they just worked it in and kept moving. no drama. Quality wise everything turned out great. the tile work in the shower is super clean, no uneven edges or grout lines. cabinets lined up perfectly, paint was solid. You can tell they actually care about doing it right. Price wise, they weren't the cheapest quote i got but definitely not the highest either. and after seeing how it all turned out, the value was totally there. no sketchy surprises on the invoice either, which I appreciate. Overall just a really good experience. they made a big renovation feel low stress and everything turned out. Will100% recommended them to a couple friends.

We hired Alex's company to completely renovate our two bathrooms (an ensuite and a hallway bath)…read more VERY satisfied with the work he and his team did for us, taking two very outdated and ugly spaces and making them beautiful and 100% more enjoyable. The project was largely cosmetic -- no relocation of plumbing aside from the shower pipes in the master -- but we did remove everything and replace it new. I was responsible for purchasing most fixtures (vanities, mirrors, lighting, faucets, etc) while Alex showed me available finishes (tile) at his showroom over on the eastside and brought those to the jobsite. While it was daunting searching all of the internet for those elements, I did like having that level of control with the design. Keep that in mind, though, if you are NOT comfortable making styling decisions. Alex communicated so well with me and my husband and among his subcontractors too. We were never surprised by a schedule change or an unexpected absence. Julia, who runs the office, also was quick about making updates to paperwork and replying to my questions. Compared to other bids for the project, Alex's pricing was the most competitive and I feel totally satisfied with the value we paid. Without a doubt will ask him to bid on our next big remodel. Ultimately our projects ended on time: one full month from start to finish. Although the first half of the reno ran a little long, Alex and his team made up time with the second half to meet the firm deadline (houseguests).

NO particle board, No plastic hinges or hardware. Aaron's son installed the cabinets which took about only 2.5 hours. When completed he went over the install with us. Just beautiful work! Because they were the lowest cost bidder for our garage cabinet project. And from the prem visit to discuss the project of designing and building cabinets through installation it was a six star worthy experience. Responsive. Knowledgeable. Quality product. Reasonable prices. We feel like we got MORE than we paid for. We heard about this company via word of mouth from friends who used them. So we wanted to pass that favor on via word of mouth through Yelp. My hubby has had an itch to replace some (perfectly fine from my view) metal shelving in our garage with spiffy built in cabinets. I finally gave up on my protests about better places to spend the money. Once the cabinets were installed last week, we have so much more storage in the garage, to say nothing of everything looking better that I wonder what took him so long. NW Garage Cabinet Company responded to my hubby's first phone call quickly and set up an appointment. Within a day or two a delightful guy showed up (on time for the appointment) and spent some time looking at a sketch my husband had done for what he was thinking, suggested improvements to the ideas, did a layout sketch to scale and provided an on the spot quote. A quote detailed enough that we knew what materials were going to be used and how the cabinets would be installed. And a quote that was substantially lower than the other two companies we'd contacted. We'd have thought it all "too good to be true" had it not been for our friend's similar experience with NW Garage Cabinet Company. So we signed on the dotted line and within a month, the cabinets were delivered and installed (again, right on time). The quality of the cabinets is top notch, much better materials than used by the competition that bid higher prices. NW Garage Cabinet Company uses plywood, not the cheaper and less stable particle board, top quality melamine doors, full adjustable shelving and good quality glides on drawers as well as mahogany trim frames. I did some research and seen the Craftsman Design and Renovation van around the neighborhood. I called and the office person was wonderful and she said the owner would call me back to discuss next steps. Well today I talked to the owner and outlined my process so far. I had mentioned I started my search at Home Depot and had an idea of cabinets and countertops. He said he was a design build firm and people come to them to design, this was said in what I felt was a dismissive tone. The conversations started to take a turn. I said "don't customers have an idea of colors?". He then went to tell me that his company does remodels in the ballpark of 50K. He never asked me the size of my home or my budget. I guess my money is not good enough. I can only imagine the communication on a project if this is how the first impression went. UPDATE: the owner of Craftsman Design and Build got wind of this post and called to make this right. He did sincerely apologize. He called because he wanted this post down/revised. I understand that a bad review here can be hurtful to a business. I use reviews here to learn and choose where to spend my $. I am updating my rating a smidge because he did reach out to me. The project consisted of constructing a new 800 square foot ADU on the second story, renovating the kitchen and cost about $250K. The project was completed in time and under cost, except for the additions and alterations we requested. Smith was patient -- this was all new for us and we were a bit worried at a few occasions, in hindsight, unnecessarily. Right from the first interaction, Smith was upfront and honest. His workers are highly skilled and respectful of the residence, always making sure to clean up and accommodating.
