I lived here over three years mainly because it is such a hassle to move, which they count on as they significantly raise your rent year after year. The owners care only about money-know that going in for it will be a problem for you at some point. You may want to have a Lawyer on call. You will pay top-dollar and get almost nothing: * NO carport (winters are brutal every day), * NO central air conditioning (up and down turning the wall unit on/off), * NO central heating (Good luck on the base-board heat, Oh, you will love the loud sucking sound that comes from the incredibly old heating building boiler), * NO balconies on the majority of units, * NO security cameras, * NO fencing barriers around the back (a neighbor had his car broken into; mine was 'keyed.') * NO decent parking lot (You will love when it rains), * NO workout facility * NO umbrellas, shade, or tables at the pool! However, for your top-dollar you will get: * A building front door slamming open and shut every day starting at 5:30 AM for dogs, * Nobody picking up after those dogs, * If you like ants, there is plenty of them in the summer regardless of which floor you are on, * If you want bees inside, you get them too. The buildings are ancient, and it looks and feels it. Lobby carpeting dirty, doors to the buildings falling apart. The apartments are painfully old, the maintenance people are good but I know they are instructed to fix things as cheaply as possible, and hopefully, you like the music your neighbor is playing because you'll hear it all the time. Wait until you see the ridiculous FEE FOR PAYING THEM THEIR RENT ONLINE! Yes, you read that right. They took out the rent drop-off slot to try and get you to pay a late penalty or pay the online fee, which is my guess. And they won't tell you, but they also have a section 8 low-income federal housing there too they try and 'hide.' You will be paying for that too, one way or another. I have never met more contemptible, cheap, rotten people that own this real-estate. They tried to sell it last year but could not. Ask yourself why? The property manager is good, but she has to get everything approved by the owners-and they support nothing that would be in your favor. There are so many other choices to live at, in, and around the same location that is so much better and LESS EXPENSIVE! I have never been happier since I moved from that dump, and I am in a great location, great apartment & owners, and much less expensive! Heed my warnings or not, as stated, I wish someone had warned me.

Money from large donations were put into sprucing up the common areas to attract new tenants. You are offered an inadequate continental breakfast 5 mornings a week. My loved one has been eating the same oatmeal and a half a bagel for years. There is a charge for eggs or pancakes. You also receive only 2 free dinners a month offered Monday through Thursday only. Kitchen help and food is from a Kosher Catering off sight service. My loved one has experienced abusive treatment by one of their servers twice. It was reported and this server remains employed. Food is very expensive and hit or miss. For what they charge you can do much much better elsewhere.

Months prior to all of this happening I had called and asked about a one bedroom and Alexis told me verbatim ..they had no one bedrooms available and Knollwood doesn't like to "downgrade" people. I later found out there were 2 one bedroom apartments available. I am now glad she forced me out, I bought a beautiful condo. I will detour anyone from moving into that complex.

We called Monday and the manager told us he would work with us. Unfortunately after she suggested I take time off of work, we were pretty turned off. So we chose a different complex.

My family and I have been staying at Legacy Rochester apartments for about a year. Their sales pitch is great - brand new apartments, state of the art facilities including gym, swimming pool, dog spa, etc. The place is beautiful and the apartments are great, with brand new amenities, I can't deny that. But the experience was very poor overall. You are dealing with a HUGE corporation, and they don't care about you. Their contracts are ironclad, and there is no empathy or anything else. During their sales pitch, they did promise verbally that the swimming pool would be ready "by the end of the Summer". A year and counting, the swimming pool has not been delivered. We moved in, there were no mailboxes - we were directed to go direct to the post office, which is the absolute worst experience, their service is atrocious. The leasing office just kept telling us "this is with USPS, there is nothing we can do". Not really putting the extra effort here. We moved in July 2024, mailboxes were finally installed in February, a full 7 months after we moved in. No pool for a full year, no mail for 7 months, zero concession. Please read all the fine print in their contract. There is a 60 day move out clause. They sent me the renewal paperwork but I had to read the attached document's fine print to be reminded of that... The day before Memorial day they sent me a final notice stating that if I did not give them notice on that same day, I would be responsible for additional rent. I was on vacation for 4 days so I missed that too. I ended up giving them 54 day notice, but they will absolutely not budge, and will be charging me for 6 extra days. Talk about empathy and customer experience. Given the price of the apartment, that will probably be around $700. No pool for a full year, no mail for 7 months, but they are still sticking to their contractual fine print to nail you every possible way. Just watch out, it's really a process and a lot of paperwork. Also note that depending on the unit you got, you might be getting a pretty nice surprise when getting the utility bills. I got a 3 bedroom approx. 1,300 sqft apartment. DTE for electricy it running around $150 - $200 / month in Summer / Fall, but here are the Winter bills: $257 (December); $407 (January); $561 (February); $538 (March). Absolutely ridiculous, I feel like we are heating / cooling the entire building. As great as the facilities look, I really don't recommend this place. Once you are in, you are dealing with the big company and they don't really care about people, stick to the contract and certainly not go out of their way to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

The management of the property at the office is essentially useless. I've lived here for 18 years…read morenow and it's very sad to see the decline of property, as well as how the office/association/property managers are treating loyal homeowners. Unfortunately, I will likely need to contact every news station AGAIN about the latest and greatest situation. I have a bee colony living under the siding on my balcony, possibly between the walls, in my storage unit and continuing to multiply. However, I had to pay $200 out of pocket today since their pest control didn't show up yesterday when I worked from home as agreed with the office two weeks prior. Problem still isn't resolved, spraying alone is not working and the office suggested waiting 2 more weeks to see if their pest control actually shows up. Meanwhile, the infestation is growing and potentially more damage is being done. I also cannot use my storage unit or even look inside, nor use my balcony. Way to enjoy summer! Avoid this property if at all possible. You'll be much happier and treated better elsewhere!
