I finally picked one and asked to purchase two other bags. The total came to $130, which I thought was quite high. I asked And she said the Joe's was 30. I thought the total should be between $90 and $100. Then she rudely said the Joe's was $52. Last time I bought Joe's there it was under $40. Then I asked about recycling bags. She simply said throw them out. I said this store used to recycle their bags. She only said throw them out. During our entire conversation she did not smile once or engage in any light conversation. So I canceled my order and said I will now shop elsewhere.

Each bird-guest must have a valid veterinary exam on file, and sanitary precautions such as handwashing and scrub changes are employed to make sure nothing is transmitted between tenants. Each bird gets their own vaguely closet-sized room, with a clear viewing panel into the hallway. This means that bird are free to be out of their cages within their rooms during the day, and the staff can come in and interact with them. this means, cuddles, baths and head scratches aplenty. A fresh fruit and vegetable mix called "chop" is served every morning, and even bird who are classically picky enjoy this mix! Each evening, check your email for a custom report card on what your bird was up to that day (the ones over the holidays are especially hilarious). We love walking through the halls at check-in and check-out and saying hello to all of the other bird. 10/10. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable that I don't loose any sleep leaving my bird here.

Karen, the owner, and her remarkable staff are a pleasure to work with and you will have such peace of mind when you board your birdies here. When you drop them off, your birds get a private room (our two budgies and two cockatiels share a room when they visit, each 'family' gets their own room) and you can either bring your own cage or use one of the cages that they have available. There's no chaos at drop-off, as Avian Suites works with you upon booking to arrange a private drop off time just for you so no other birds and their owners are coming in and out at the same time as you are. You can go back into your bird's 'suite' and get them all set up with whatever goodies you bring from home - don't forget their favorite toys and perches! Every morning, your birds will be provided with a fresh chop breakfast. Karen always says that even the pickiest eaters eat their chop! They will clean out their cage daily, and inspect droppings and behavior as well. Each night of your vacation, you will receive a 'report card' in which the staff will share how your birds did that day. They will include info on their eating, behavior, and yes - even their droppings. They really know their stuff too, some even are employees of vet clinics. We had a bird who needed medication during one stay, which they happily administered. Your birds will love going 'on vacation' to Avian Suites - and you will love the peace of mind. A friend of mine was attending…read morea seminar they were having on bluebirds to celebrate their two year anniversary, and I dropped by to meet her afterwards. I'm so glad I did! The staff here are no joke; they know everything there is to know about birds. I'm admittedly not that big of a bird person, but I do keep a small feeder in my backyard. They shared lots of tips and tricks for feed type (they have all sorts of options for attracting specific bird species) and for deterring squirrels. You can tell they truly love their craft. The store has a little bit of everything: lots of different feeders (hanging and for staking in the ground), SO much different feed for every bird situation, and lots of cute bird related accessories like books and stickers. I also got to meet Grasshopper, the store dog, who provided excellent customer service and proudly showed off her bone (I was allowed to look but not touch). I wasn't planning to buy anything but fell in love with an adorable suction cup window feeder shaped like a tree. I got a complimentary bag of bird seed for being a new customer and another one to celebrate their anniversary! I hung up the feeder outside my office window and haven't seen any birds yet, but the seed level is dropping, so they're definitely coming by. I'll definitely be returning to this store!

I find their Kracker Jax mix in particular is great for feeders placed in dense gardens. It contains only shelled seeds so they don't sprout when dropped. I don't know about you, but I spend enough of my time weeding the garden without having to dig out from birdie leftovers too. Last, their delivery and curbside services during the pandemic have been second to none. Thanks, guys! You've been keeping our feathered friends and those of us who depend on them to cheer us up happy and sane during these tough times.
