Matt greeted me promptly at 7:00 a.m. and prepped me, always his usual, courteous yet friendly self. His administration of novocaine was painless and he explained and double checked the procedure. Dr. D. then did the same, explaining each step as we went along while both he and his assistant kept me well rinsed and as comfortable as possible throughout. Visual scans confirmed everything that had been done and any questions I had were answered quickly and expertly. I have had some traumatic dental experiences in the past elsewhere, so was slightly hesitant going in. My family of 4 has been seeing the team at Parkway Dental for over a decade, though, so I know firsthand that they are beyond competent. They actually CARE about their patients. At no time did I feel unsafe or uncared for. I was even given a lovely fleece blanket that proved to be a great calming agent. Truly, though, it is their professionalism and compassionate care that shepherded me through. I go back in about a week for my permanent crowns and am actually looking forward to it!

I always feel comfortable and in "good hands" here. 10/12/ 2022 - came in again, to have my implant checked. It was a long procedure and the dentist and his assistance checked in with me multiple times to see how I was doing and helping me to be comfortable. Initially the front office had told me that they would not be able to verify my insurance because it was the weekend (and even suggested that I might come back the next day), but when the crown procedure was diagnosed and recommended they were able to verify the insurance (which covered 50 percent of the cost). Very glad to have landed in this office and might choose to use them for non-emergency dental work as well.

Both times I have been there they were running right on schedule and got me in and out in under an hour. My hygienist Crystal is gentle and lets me choose the flavor of my toothpaste and fluoride. We are similar in age so we like to chat about music and TV shows of the 80s/ 90s. A childhood stroll down memory lane which getting my teeth sparkly. Of course I've had other hygienists over the years and have never had a "rough" cleaning. Also many dentist's have worked in my mouth. From my childhood dentist Dr. Marvin (PD Silver Lake), to the late Dr. Kaatz (crowns and fillings), to Dr. Lutterman (crown) and currently Dr. Nguyen (crown and nightguard). I don't mind anesthetic but the vibration of the "drill" is annoying. They let me bring in my own earphones so I can listen to music while they are working. My last couple of appointments seem to fly by. And Dr. Nguyen is so kind and compassionate. And gentle when giving anesthetic...I didn't even feel it. She cares about doing quality work and made sure I was happy with the feel of my new crown/ nightguard. At my last crown visit they used a silicone suction device that kept my tongue and cheek out of the way. It also gave me something to bite on so my mouth wouldn't get tired from staying open. That was awesome! As much as I don't want dental work, I would like for that to be used again if needed. I have already recommended this clinic (and other locations of this company) to friends and family. They all seem to be satisfied with the care they receive too!

Exorbitant, Neglectful, Inadequate - Overall Worst place to go…read more The dental cleaning experience at this establishment was not only exorbitant but also neglectful and inadequate, making it an overall worst place to go. If you are reading this, take my word and never visit this place. They are fraudulent. Let me share the whole story for you to make an informed decision. I had a dental cleaning appointment. At reception, the lady was nice and did all the paperwork politely. When I went to see the nurse, I specifically told her that I only wanted to do what my insurance covers. However, she gave me an estimate that, sir, sorry, but you will end up paying $202 on top of your insurance. Despite my reservations, I agreed and said to go ahead and start the procedure. They completed the first half of the cleaning, and upon returning to the front desk for check-out, the receptionist handed me a bill of $175. I was slightly surprised, as the whole estimate was $202. I assumed they probably charged me less for the second half, so I requested to the receptionist that I'll pay the whole bill after my second visit. Then, a day before my second visit, they sent me a bill of $230, with overall charges of $1149. The amount paid by my insurance was $436.72, and I owed $230, according to the bill. I called them and asked why I got the bill of $230.48 when I was billed $175 during my check-out on the day of service. They told me that, sorry sir, but the lady who was billing you on the day didn't give you the full bill for some unknown reason, and this is your final bill for the first visit. I was shocked by how they convinced me by giving the estimate of $202 for the whole cleaning process and ended up charging $230.487 only for the first visit. They didn't have any explanation for this, and I had to cancel the second visit to avoid another $230 (or probably more, as they would have made some excuse regarding one of my cavities and ended up charging way more - who knows). Now, let me add the worst part - Their dental cleaning sucks - I asked the nurse to show me the pre and post-cleaning photos to verify the level of cleanliness, and she only took a photo of the front 2 teeth and showed it to me. After coming home when I checked, I hardly noticed any difference, and I was planning to discuss this during my second visit, but now I won't as I am canceling my second visit. Please save yourself from this cheating. I'll inform my co-workers at work not to visit this place, as unfortunately, this is one of the places covered under my insurance. If I have the option, I'll give feedback to my insurance company as well to remove this clinic from their list. Shameful.

The Dr. Mendes senior examined my teeth and was very pleasant and friendly. My hygienist was also thorough and friendly. Mendes has a diverse staff which is wonderful- a Vietnamese patient came in and a staff member who was also Vietnamese was able to speak the patient's language- am sure they also felt welcomed coming for a first time. Convenient location on Snelling in Highland- so glad I found Mendes Dentists!
