Thomas Erbe (Tommy) came to our home and was wonderful. He assessed the situation and then made a set of solid recommendations for water heaters. He made an appointment to come the day after Thanksgiving. He kept his word. Tommy picked up a water heater came out as promised. Tommy was kind, punctual, and efficient. He listened, he gave thoughtful answers, his assessment was excellent. He quickly installed the unit and got us hot water. AllStar is blessed to have him. We got them to put in a new HVAC unit, it had some problems but they fixed those issues. Then we needed them to fix some plumbing problems, $1, 300 later and the problems were never properly fixed and they refused to return our calls. I would never recommend this company and will absolutely never use them again. read more

Fraud warning. We are from MA and have a house in Knox 4 years. We used One Service pros but these guys bought their lists. All-Star did some AC work there so when tenant called water heater blew we called Thur 7/31. We waited till Mon as we "knew"them. we arrived to find James Hill(tech) & helper there. First words were " you're not going to be happy" He said in addition to heater we had 5 leaks in water main to house (300 ft) He showed meter running even though he had helper "close valve" in house. new heater was 5k+ water main 12k+. W later when WE closed valve no water ran. KUB said use rose only days heater broken. Tues we cancelled but they tried to chg 10% fee. We mentioned lawyer so Tony (owner) met us and later said there were firings. Beware of up-selling!!!! read more

Not impressed by All Star Heating and Cooling. We were on a trip and had to get our unit serviced before selling our house. After having been using All Star for a couple of years to monitor our 2.5 year old unit, they somehow managed to claim that we had a sludge buildup which required $1100 to "fix". We had them repair the problem but I don't understand how this suddenly became a problem after they monitored the system for 2 years . In addition, when I called a day after the repair, the technician couldn't recall doing the work, which concerned me greatly. I think they use their monitoring program as a marketing tactic and are more concerned about getting repair work than keeping the system running well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. KEEP LOOKING. We used to use this company and man name Joe ran things and was great. Used him for years. He retired. This company bought him out. We just needed coolant refilled. We called and they would not give estimate. Said had to come to house. They came and said would be over $700 to just fill coolant. Last year we paid Joe $175 for 10 minutes of work where he filled coolant. Called company again asking why so much. After several uh, uh, uh's was told that is their flat rate to fill coolant for up to 3 lbs. Asked if this is flat rate then why could they not tell us that when asked for estimate before he came out. Got the uh, uh, uh's again and said they have to see unit. But this is flat rate. Said that is just their policy. So basically they can say this. Send out rep and charge you $100 service call fee whether you use them or not. This is a bad way to do business. Just lost my business for sure. Recommend everyone look for better company that has better morals than this. read more

The team showed up on time (freezing temperatures were coming so they started the work next day, assessed the repair, provided quote that was reasonable, installed a new gas line from the house to the meter due to a gas leak and also installed a line to my gas fireplace. They were efficient, accurate and cleaned up afterwards. Very thankful to have found this great company. read more

I'm giving zero stars! I called All Star Heating and Air Conditioning to come out and check my AC. The reason I used them was becuase the sticker on my unit was for Dean Plumbing Heating & Cooling. Apparently, Dean sold to All Star. I told the repair man, Scott Owens when he arrived that the "box" (condensation removal pump) made a terrible noise and then the next morning the unit was no longer working. He was at my house for a total of 30 minutes not counting drive time and the amount of time he sat out in from of my house upon arrival and departure. Anyway, a condensation box was replaced and I was charged $618 WITH a membership discount. I know this part can be purchased for under $80 and it took them 5 minutes to rig it up. This company is abusing the public. DO NOT USE THEM. Please call a locally owned company that will give you an itemized statement upon request. I asked them for an itemized quote and they refused to give that to me. I find it hard to beleive that an hour total of work plus a part would categorize as a $618 bill. I beleive I was ripped off and taken advantage of. Hiller would be a better company to call becuase my neighbor used Hiller just last week for the same issue and they paid $240 for parts and labor. So save your pocket and call Hiller if you want a reputable service tech and reliable, honest company. If you LOVE getting ripped off call ALL STAR HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING for all your HVAC needs becuase they are dishonest and they do NOT CARE ABOUT THIER CUSTOMERS. I googled the video of the replacement for this and I could have actually done it myself. I mean, I had already diagnosed the issue for the repair man Scott so I made his job easy. The quality put into the invoice provided by Hiller is much better. And both parts/jobs are equal in time to repair. Just a different part. Google the video for both and you'll see. Actually, the capacitor is a less expensive part but a little more time consuming/complicated to replace than what u had done and yet Hiller was able to still charge a much less price. read more

For 2 weeks made multiple calls to have someone come look at my unit. First time they came out was told nothing wrong. But was charged double the service fee. When I questioned the charge was told he logged hour and half being here. He was only here 55 min I have proof on cameras. 2nd time out owner came again told nothing wrong and he suggested it's in my wires. He didn't offer to check or run new ones. 3rd time out again told nothing wrong. I asked about it being the board all 3 visits since was replaced 10 months ago and the unit doing the same thing as then. He blew it off. Asked if it was transformer and told no. I call another company to look at it. It is the transformer is was blown. And the board had a broken piece in it. Since board was replaced new 10 months prior it should be under warranty. It's not because the owner did not put a new one in like was supposed to and said he did. Do NOT use this company!!! read more
