This small store sells fresh-brewed coffee, as well as publications from independent press companies. The selection is varied, and there's even a section of books specifically meant to read in house. The menu is small and straightforward, featuring less than ten items, all under $10. Seating is limited with about four tables, two couches and a coffee table. The store has a very cozy atmosphere and is a great place to sit and get work done if things aren't too busy. They do host events on some nights, such as readings, meetings and mic nights, all of which are posted on their Facebook page. Third House has an open hallway connecting it to Downtown Wine & Cheese next door. They are separately owned, but may have deals during events like Open Mic Night (50% off one glass of house wine). When I first started my record collection, I asked my music-loving co-worker where to go and he immediately recommended Hear Again! Located in downtown Gainesville only a few cobblestoned steps from the legendary Hippodrome Theater, Hear Again has a fantastic location in the heart of the city. You'll usually know when the shop is open based on the standing sign that is propped up during business hours! Upon entrance into the store, you're surrounded by some of the greatest tunes to ever be pressed on their various mediums with more genres that you could even count. Hear Again is so wonderfully organized and arranged, there never seems to be a a CD or vinyl out of alphabetical or genre order - talk about arrangement! The wonderful store owner also keeps a running list online of available vinyls, also available on their Instagram page which is updated weekly with new arrivals or sales. My favorite portion of the store? The used records! I've scored vinyls in prime condition for $5 or even less! One of my favorite details about Hear Again? Their COVID practices! Upon entry, you get your temp checked, hands sprayed with alcohol/sanitizer and you are then provided with gloves. I love it!! In so far as pressured sales, yes they do suffer from that also even to the extent of as you're heading toward the door. The couple of items I had a somewhat interest in the shopkeeper could not demonstrate or explain them correctly. Personally I couldn't get out of there quick enough to get fresh air in my body. To add to the dismal experience I had to maneuver myself around beer cans in the parking lot.

I was impressed and very much enjoyed getting to shop around! Jolly's Antiques & Shabby Chics is a curated antique shop located in Chiefland on the main drag of town. The shop is rather large, and they have many booths that are filled by different antiquers. Everything can be browsed through and purchased in this one location. So, there is a healthy variety of selection and types of items throughout the shop. I did not exactly count the number of booths, but there are probably at least 50 different ones throughout. There is a private parking lot for the store. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon in July, and it was not crowded. The selection will obviously vary and change due to the nature of the store. However, there were booths with antiques, handmade items, and other vendor-made items (candles, etc.). Along with typical smaller antiques, there was a healthy selection of furniture and large items to browse through as well. There was not much of any clothing, so if you are looking for that, this likely would not be the shop to visit. Since there are so many booths and things to see, you could spend a good amount of time here looking at everything. I was probably browsing for the better part of 45 minutes, and still probably could have hung around longer to look at more! I ended up going home with an old Alabama Christmas vinyl record, that I plan to display as part of my Christmas decor this upcoming season. There were several furniture pieces I would have loved to snag, but since I was visiting the area on vacation, I did not have the proper room in the car to get them back home with me. It will vary from seller to seller most likely, but I thought the prices for all items were fair. You feel as though you are getting the value for the prices paid, in my opinion. Also, the staff was kind and friendly during my visit. They made sure to package and wrap items with care that you purchased, as well as gave inputs and answered any questions asked. My visit to Jolly's gets five start from me. I come back to this area at least once a year, and I look forward to being able to visit again amid see all of the new items that have made their way to the shop. If you are local or find yourself near this shop, I would recommend giving it a visit!

I went to the Coin and Jewelry Gallery in Gainesville, Florida with a box of half dollars and…read moresilver dollars. The lady I dealt with was the co-owner. She was very courteous, and told me the value of the monies as she sorted through them. Although the final amount was somewhat lower than I had expected, I was okay with that, as I understand that they need to make a profit too. I went to this business a week later with smaller denomination coins as well as antique jewelry and paper currency. The young lady that waited on my was unfriendly, and went through my coins more quickly that I would have expected. She didn't mention the price they would be paying for the wheat pennies, large pennies, Indian Head pennies, Buffalo nickles, Mercury dimes, etc., until after a co-worker had taken my cigar box of wheat pennies ran them through their coin counter. I had coins in folders. The best coins were in folders and the value of some of some wheat pennies was in excess of $25.00. When the young lady was finished, and the coins were processed such that I could not retrieve them, I was told that I was being paid two cents per penny, whether they were Wheat or Indian Head pennies. I am not a jeweler or collector myself. I was helping the family of someone who had recently passed. The 1930's antique gold wedding ring with four diamonds, brought me $40.00. My biggest mistake was not refusing an offer of one-hundred dollars for some Confederate paper money and fractional currency. The male co-owner said that Confederate money and fractional currency had no value other than historical or as a novelty. I found that when I went home and checked online, that the value of that stack of paper money was in excess of four hundred dollars. All in all, I found that in dealing with the Coin and Jewelry Gallery, I was paid more that five hundred dollars less than the true value of the money and jewelry I took to them. I thought that I had found an honest people to deal with, and had already recommended these people to several friends. I will be contacting my friends and letting them know that I was mistaken. If you want the true value of coins and jewelry you are selling, it would be in your best interest to NOT take them to the Coin and Jewelry Gallery in Gainesville.

For the iced vanilla dirty chai with cinnamon: the chai was both sweet and creamy, with strong hints of cinnamon (especially with the cinnamon powder on top). This is a drink we would order again if we went back The lucky charm matcha was slightly disappointing. The menu said it was made with cereal milk, though the taste didn't come through and just tasted like regular whole milk. The matcha was bland/dull and lacked depth of taste. On top, there were only 3 lucky charms, which was the part we were most excited for yet unfortunately let down by. For the quality of drink, the prices were high and not worth the value. The matcha was $8.25, which was most disappointing, and the chai was ~$6. The service was great and the barista was super nice. While your drinks are being made, there's tons of stickers, trinkets, and merch to look at. If you'd like to stay inside, there's an "upstairs" (couple stairs up) seating area where I assume most of the crafting events occur. Being off of University, parking is limited.
