I like coming in to find random stuff like Shell Scott Mystery Magazine from 1966, five issues of a series reprinting EC Comics' Extra and the program for the 1970 Palatka High School football team. Boxes of back issues are full of $3 comics. One wall has CGC-graded comics.

They have plenty of floorspace, don't get me wrong, and they have a lot of inventory, most of it locked behind glass doors that you have to call a sales person over to open. Seated there for a couple of hours, I found that the place is kept at a temperature that is a bit too warm. Combine that with the lighting that is too stark and the lack of sound proofing that causes echoes to occur everywhere, and staying within the building for any length of time is not a pleasant experience. I get the distinct feeling that this is a storefront where they want you to come in, select something, buy it, and get out. I felt no sense of community in the store, no warmth (except for the heat), and no real welcomeness.

I didn't really have a goal in mind for what I wanted, so just going through the stacks and browsing to see if anything caught my eye was the basic plan. Lots of people lined up, but I got through the line pretty quickly. Inside, the books are arranged in a reasonable order, and the different sections are easy to identify, so finding areas that interested me was not a problem. Coming across the cooking section, I found that there were a number of smaller cookbooks that I like to term as "Wive's Club Cookbooks" which can be some of the best/most entertaining cookbooks you can come across due to the nature of the recipes that are contained in them. You never know what you are going to find in them, though recipes from the 1960's are prevalent and gelatin comes into heavy play. Good stuff there, and I stocked up on them. Overall, the Friends of the Library book sale is always a good thing to go to!

Great deals can be found and fair pricing for those hard to find items. We were approached by multiple employees and asked if we needed help. We were on a mission to find Inside Out characters for my 8 year old son and they not only found the spot they were in but also hunted around to find the items he asked for. They gave us tips to find things in other areas of the store as people tend to hide things they want and they let us know where to look for those gems! This is the first and usually last place I have to go to find what I am looking for as they have what I need. There are so many props and fun things to look at as you wander the huge selection.
