No cable for us old timers. Difficulty getting through the security key tab on the door . The neighbors were doing outdoor construction on their home , saws and hammers. felt like a bit of a Ripoff for 500 / night mid week during a very quiet mid September time. Across a busy road and right by an abandoned unsightly business. Granted it's also across from a very nice Brewpub , which is probably a major selling point. Not a rural feeling but a neighborhood type ambiance. My guess is it would be great for a mid size group during holidays or for a ski trip. The owners did keep asking for final 50% payment many days before we arrived so we left with a not great feeling. There were only two in our party , on our way between Tomahawk and ORD.

We went to Ochsner's Park for a family reunion and came home to our cabins to get ready for a fire each night. The cabins are just perfect with a bed, bathroom, refrigerator, TV and much more. It was liking camping only so much better. Glamping if you will--so nice to have your own private shower and running water, It was in the 80s and beautiful, so nice to be outside most of the time. The cabins have heat and air conditioning if you need it. They have a pickleball court, a small bar to get drinks Thursday through Saturdays which also has a small deck where you can sip on your beverage. They have firepits for each cabin and provide any wood that you may need. They also have a large firepit across the parking lot for everyone to join. They are constantly improving the property with more things to come! Join their newsletter so you can keep up with all the goings on. This is a great place to stay after a visit to Devil's Lake, Circus World Museum, Ochsner's Park, The International Crane Foundation, Ski Hi Apple Orchard, Wisconsin Dells, North Freedom Train Ride, or any other event. Then, in front are the BBQ grills and several different-styled patio tables, as well as, 2 colorful nostalgic metal chairs directly outside each room. Lovely landscaping & flowers everywhere. Don't miss the bubbling brook just alongside the South side of the lounge and a peaceful spot to read. We visited Devils Lake Park, a diner in Baraboo, and an escape room in the Dells area. We stayed for a long weekend, and and it was the perfect location to get away. The rooms are all themed so when you call to reserve you can pick from the rooms they have available. We stayed in Unit 2, the Devil's Lake room which had photos of Devil's lake. The room included a mini refrigerator, coffee and tea, and alarm clock if needed. Right outside your door they have chairs and tables for enjoying the beautiful weather. They also have grills and an area for bonfires. I was only able to go to the communal area/lobby for the first morning as it was soon closed as they were started to do contactless check in/out. But it seems as though in less COVID-y times they have some coffee or tea there, light breakfast items like mini muffins or breakfast bars and fruit. They also had a communal puzzle and board games. Overall the place is super cozy, perfectly situated for a relaxing vacation with a number of restaurants and small shops to visit in Baraboo.

Once we got off the elevator and reached our floor, the feeling changed completely. The hotel was well maintained, clean, and had a surprisingly upscale feel, with a pleasantly decorated room that made for a comfortable stay. The front desk area and staff appeared to be student-run, but in a very good way -- everyone we dealt with was pleasant, organized, and on task. The hotel is a little removed from the core of downtown, but when the weather is nice, it's a great walk into the heart of Madison. Overall, a surprisingly good stay that exceeded our expectations.
