While the grounds of the resort are nice, the safety standards and staff response were unacceptable. On Thursday, August 14th, a member of my group informed staff that the inflatable waterslides appeared slightly deflated. The staff's only response was that someone would be coming on Friday to look at them. No warnings were given to campers about avoiding the inflatables, and no signs were posted to restrict their use. Later that day, I went down the inflatable slide. Because it was partially deflated, I slid down at an awkward angle into very shallow water. The pond also had a raised, turf-like surface at the bottom that created a bump. When I hit the bottom, my foot twisted, and I broke my ankle. The staff response to my injury was extremely concerning. The manager stayed in the office and did not come to help. Instead, a child around 12 or 13 years old was sent to assist, but they were not able to provide any help. Another camper (not part of my group) and my boyfriend ended up helping me out of the water and onto a bench so I could elevate my foot. When my boyfriend's mother asked staff for crutches or basic first aid supplies, they had nothing available. The only suggestion was to use a shuffleboard stick as a crutch, which was flimsy and unusable. No staff member brought ice, took down any details of the incident, or checked in on me. It was another camper (not staff) who eventually brought me ice for my ankle. With no assistance from the resort, my boyfriend had to drive me to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with a broken ankle. Because it was late and raining, we returned to the campground that night, but had to cut our trip short and go home the next day. At no point did staff follow up, take notes, or even come to the cabin to see if I was okay. To this day, I have not heard anything from Fox Hill--no apology, no acknowledgement, and no offer of assistance regarding the situation that happened. This entire experience showed a clear lack of safety protocols, communication, and basic first aid support at Fox Hill RV Resort. The inflatables were left in unsafe condition despite prior notice, there were no warnings to guests, and the staff failed to respond properly after my injury.

But after experiencing "the owner's mom" yelling at my teen playing at the playground, I'll have to pass and suggest a new family reunion location. For what it's worth: I was standing chatting with family as my son was on the seesaw. If she disliked him playing on it, there's an appropriate way to speak to: a. Children (who are worthy of respect) b. Customers. Screaming at them and aggressively speaking to the parents is a bad way to run a business. I was more than willing to overlook the increased prices year over year, the less than great bathrooms, + smoking at the new arcade (which is open randomly at best)...but absolutely unwilling to overlook the way people are treated. Hopefully a discussion is had moving forward so other teens feel welcome to be outside + play amongst their far younger cousins.

But the wines were so delicious and the attendant knew what I would like by just telling her what I prefer . The bowhunter was the most delicious "grape juice" I've ever tasted , never having a sweet red before , the crowd of people were in a good mood and there was a wedding going on near by . Don't miss the bubbling brook just alongside the South side of the lounge and a peaceful spot to read. We visited Devils Lake Park, a diner in Baraboo, and an escape room in the Dells area. We stayed for a long weekend, and and it was the perfect location to get away. The rooms are all themed so when you call to reserve you can pick from the rooms they have available. We stayed in Unit 2, the Devil's Lake room which had photos of Devil's lake. The room included a mini refrigerator, coffee and tea, and alarm clock if needed. Right outside your door they have chairs and tables for enjoying the beautiful weather. They also have grills and an area for bonfires. I was only able to go to the communal area/lobby for the first morning as it was soon closed as they were started to do contactless check in/out. But it seems as though in less COVID-y times they have some coffee or tea there, light breakfast items like mini muffins or breakfast bars and fruit. They also had a communal puzzle and board games. Overall the place is super cozy, perfectly situated for a relaxing vacation with a number of restaurants and small shops to visit in Baraboo.

I wish I could have stayed here when I went to the Dells on my mini vacation only a few short weeks ago but this time I'm here on business. Checking in was easy there's plenty of parking here as well and the hotel features plenty of great amenities like a decent size pool, hot tub and newer workout equipment in the fitness gym. There's even a little business center though I didn't have time to visit it. They got a bar but it's very limited and I recommend not checking it out unless you don't want to drive anywhere or walk across the street. The rooms were in good condition though some parts are in need of remodeling. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was very loud and I felt like it was going to catch fire just because of the noise was making. The staff at the front desk wouldn't tell me how much incidentals were which kind of confused me. Breakfast was okay for the most part but again it had much better amenities compared to the last Best Western I was at in the Dells only 20 minutes north of here. There's plenty of things to do in walking distance as well such as walking to the bar or even walking to the nearby gas station if you're short on amenities that the gas station probably doesn't have or if you want a cheaper drink then what the bar would ask you for. Truly is a 3.5 star place. Very budget friendly would recommend
