This total included taxes and the hand truck. When I dropped off the truck in Charlotte, the employee took my original signed rental agreement with the $499.58 total and gave me a print out of the new charges of $585+ I couldn't understand why the difference and the guy told & showed me on this new print out it was because of the insurances that were added. I explained that I never added insurance protection to my original agreement. I failed to take the original paper agreement/ contract and now I have now way to prove that I never asked for or signed up for the insurance. Neither places, the pick up or drop off locations said it was them that added the extra insurance add ons. Now the corporate complaint dept. won't help me because I don't have the original contract to prove I never added insurance protection to my agreement. Basically I was screwed out of $86. Thanks Budget, but you lost a repeat faithful customer for good!

My recent experience with U-Haul was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend their…read moreservices. A few days before my rental, U-Haul asked me to transport one of their trailers for a promised $100 payment. However, when I arrived to pick up my truck, the offer was suddenly withdrawn without explanation. My rental was scheduled from May 31 to June 2, 2026. When I arrived at the location where I had made my reservation, the representative did not introduce themselves and simply informed me that my truck had been moved to another location, wasting my time and requiring an additional trip. At the second location, another representative failed to explain the rental process and placed a $100 hold on my card without mentioning it beforehand. The truck was delivered with only a quarter tank of fuel and the check engine light already on. I immediately called U-Haul to report the issue. My original drop-off location was Daytona Beach, but when my plans changed, I called ahead and informed U-Haul that I would be returning the truck to Gainesville. Only then was I told that changing the return location would alter my contract and increase my charges. This was never explained when I picked up the vehicle. Despite returning the truck a full day early, U-Haul kept my $100 deposit, told me I owed an additional $37, and has now sent another bill for approximately $67 while threatening a $30 late fee if it is not paid promptly. The lack of communication, surprise charges, poor customer service, and constantly changing information made this one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had. I left feeling misled and frustrated, and I will not be using U-Haul again.

Now to argue with there customer service department to receive a refund was also rude to deal with. I will never deal with this company again. They do not tell customers all information upfront and they can be so rude and unprofessional. This post made me give a star to post this but I say no star is deserved.

From the very beginning they were friendly, professional & helpful. I was not there for load up, my husband said they had 4 guys & worked hard, & packed the truck with care. (I do know that furniture was wrapped extremely well) At delivery, we only had 2 guys. Brandon & Dakota. TBH, probably should have been 3. These young men worked their asses off in 104° heat, having to cart everything down the long driveway since they couldn't get the truck in due a couple of issues. I felt so bad for them & was really worried about them... gave them water & even had Travis & Em p/u Gatorade for them. All of this to say, I highly recommend using D.C. Moore & Son. The employees, yes... employees not random day laborers, are fantastic... the cost is competitive. It did cost more than the estimate, but it was worth it & still less than other phone estimates from other companies with worse reviews.

"I'm working in my unit; I didn't realize it was timed." While waiting for the sheriff's dept to file a report, three homeless people ambled out the gate. I've seen all three there multiple times when I've been at my unit to get something. I wandered around while waiting for the deputy to arrive, and saw another lady obviously living in her unit. The doors to the buildings are left open, which makes climate control mute. One day I was there, the big gate was even left open. ‍

My biggest gripe is that the side gate is broken constantly. I don't feel like the place is secured when the gate is sitting opened or blocked by a uhaul. It didn't ask if I wanted 24/7 access but I saw it on my invoice for my initial purchase. Later called because my access wasn't working and the lady said I never had 24/7 access and had to pay the $10 a month for the access. Weird
