Owners Linda and Bill have created a lovely and calming atmosphere throughout this historic home. Classic and uncluttered, all the rooms are spotlessly clean and appointed with comfortable beds and well chosen simple decor. Certainly not the stereotypical lace, floral wallpapered and wall-to-wall dusty antique kind of B&B. Breakfast is always delicious, as are the frequent evening cookies left on the entry table for guests to enjoy at the end if the day. Will continue to make this our home-away-from-home when visiting our Bucknell student.

Bill and Linda were extremely welcoming and friendly. The home itself is beautiful and meticulously furnished. After a day of work-related travel, coming back to soft music, a glass of sherry, and chocolates was probably among the nicest travel experiences I've had. If you're curious about the history of the home, the rooms also feature a picture book with facts about the home and pictures of all the guest rooms. I enjoyed reading it over while having a glass of tea from the Keurig in the upstairs hallway. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip through Pennsylvania... and next time I might stay longer!

Close to food, gas, and shopping. Staff is friendly, check in is quick. There are train tracks on the other side of US-15, but I haven't heard any train noise. Other amenities include a pool and gym.

They had cookies set out as well, which is always a nice welcome, along with free bottled water. I stayed in room 300 (digital key worked just fine). I prefer rooms at or near the end of hallways away from elevators. I ended up choosing the end of the hall that is closest to the main road so there was occasional street noise but it wasn't constant. The room is very clean - the bathroom looks like it was recently renovated...also very clean. They have all the amenities of a Hampton Inn - gym, free parking, free breakfast. It's my preferred chain for travel. This location has a pool as well so that's nice for families. I would definitely stay at this location again.

The building itself has been very well maintained and preserved, and upon entering the lobby I feel like I have stepped right back in time to the 1850s. One of the nicest things they had at the check-in was the timeline starting with the 1834 owners all the way up to the current owner who purchased in 2017. Decor is reminiscing of the Victorian era mainly. I had a delicious pork Osso buco meal at their pub and restaurant, watched the game and had great dinner. Location is wonderful, just a couple miles from Bucknell university- and walking to all the quaint locally owned shops and stores. The things I would request- new towels, some updates to the courtyard rooms, quicker check in service and I wasn't quite sure where to go to get to my room initially. Great team that works there.

Check in lady was terrible, and full of false or misleading information, golf cart battery meters don't work, and got to spend our last night hearing all the generators run all night as we had to keep all our cabin windows open due to no power. Not enough public restrooms, as we saw a little girl actually pee her pants waiting for an available public restroom.

I only found this charge reviewing my credit card bill two weeks later--they never contacted me. They claimed the "excessive cleaning, damage to the phone that was "ripped from the wall" and loss of revenue" was not even covered by the mayhem we left. While the room was not left in spotless condition, it was completely superficial clutter (see pictures they supplied me) that would have taken less than one minute to address. That's called running a hotel. To date, the GM has not returned my c The situation: There was dry, unused toilet paper and unused tissues pulled out on the bathroom floor by my 1.5 YO daughter. The other white towels are supposed to be left on the floor. We accidentally left dry crumbs from a muffin on the floor. We disconnected the telephone so our daughters would not make calls. All that is required to address is to plug the landline connection back in. I also left a plate of food in the fridge. Is that abnormal? Update: after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, I was finally able to speak to the GM (per other reviews, I had no faith a call back would occur). They refunded $200 of the $250. We had a slight back and forth about fictitious claims based on the photos (eg claiming there was also a juice stain (we drank no juice). They claimed I broke the phone, saying the jack was loose (I did not, I just unplugged it-might have been due to 5+ years of hard use??). But I was willing to take $200 and forfeit $50 than be defrauded the full $250. I should have pressed them given they have a close up of a harmless muffin, but no close-up pictures of the functional broken phone. Oh well. Never again. Avoid this place.
