Close to a gas station, there are several fast food and pub style restaurants within two miles or so. Our king bed room was spacious. No hooks by the entrance to hang our coats (like other Hamptons we have stayed with), but plenty of hangers in the closet. The desk area is similar to other Hamptons with a desk on wheels that you can pull out to have more desk top space and push back in for more room space. Fridge , microwave and ice bucket are in the back corner next to the desk. A full dresser with the TV on top is at the end of the bed. A single, comfy chair is between the dresser and the window. Didn't see a space to put/open luggage. Bathroom is large. Good amount of vanity space and a shelf underneath. One hook on back of door and another next to the shower. Multi-use personal care in shower and by sink plus one bar of soap by the sink. Towels were soft and absorbant. There is no switch for the bathroom exhaust fan so the room was super humid after our showers. The heater was quiet and kept us warm. The quilt was a good weight for our December stay. Sheets are soft and comfortable. Mattress firm. Only the pillows were disappointing; fiber fill that would bunch up in one place and almost no padding in another. Breakfast is served in a hallway shaped room off the lobby that is locked outside of breakfast hours. During our stay it included cold cereal, cooked oatmeal, fresh fruit (cut melon), western omlette, red potato mix, toaster items, waffles, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee. The breakfast layout was very unorganized. Oatmeal is at the front right and cold cereal at the back left. Toaster items are at the back right and the toaster is at the middle left so you select your item, turn around and walk back to the toaster on the other side. Not even 'hot stuff here, cold stuff there'. Cold yogurt was in a bowl next to the hot oatmeal. There is no 'flow' to this set-up. Although no fridge in the breakfast area, they did offer hot sauce and grated cheese to add to your eggs and cream cheese for your bagel, plus butter, jelly, salt and pepper packets, etc. Coffee is by the front door. Luggage carts are located in the vestibule just before the lobby. They are similar to airport luggage carts. The lobby doubles as the breakfast dining room so cafe tables and chairs plus a high top work surface.

Upon arriving at the property you are greeted with a feeling of warmth and peace. Everything from the porch with hanging swings to the inside décor makes you feel relaxed and at home. I stayed in the Lighthouse Room which is the perfect size for two people. The full size bed and fluffy pillows are comfortable and you'll sleep well. For breakfast Georgia makes delicious meals. Tuesday morning's menu consisted of a delicious egg soufflé, pancakes, bacon and sausage. There are other items from which to choose such as fresh fruit and cereal. You'll thoroughly enjoy conversations with Georgia and Reid, who are the perfect hosts and will make you feel like family.

Since our visit last summer, the property has undergone another evolution. They have refreshed the public areas and replaced the HVAC systems. In a universe governed mostly by entropy and bad air circulation, a crisp, quiet hotel room is a minor miracle. The renovated common spaces are bright, modern, and inviting, standing in sharp contrast to the fading ghost of the mall across the road. Yet while the ductwork and lobby have been modernized, the soul of the place remains untouched. The staff here continues to be absurdly, wonderfully kind. They do not treat you like a credit card with legs; they greet you like long-lost cousins returning home for a family reunion. Every interaction is pleasant, genuine, and unrushed. The staples that make this place a haven are all still here. The Costa coffee machine that literally showed up while we were visiting last year grinds whole beans on demand, dispensing hot sanity to accompany cinnamon rolls designed to obliterate any lingering notions of human self-restraint. The rooms are spotless, the beds are exceptionally comfortable, and the blackout shades permit a sleep so deep it feels subterranean. Everything works. Everyone is nice. In a chaotic world, that is about as close to perfection as a roadside hotel can get. So it goes. Five stars, hands down. We will be back next summer.

Back to front desk asking which hotel in the area was better... She said I will give you another room. After have been driving for almost eight hours, I just wanted to sleep. The third room was fine. Yes, the furniture appears new, and the room has been painted. With all that, how hard should it be to keep it clean and well stocked for the next guests?? We had no TP when we checked in. We had to call and then stop someone outside the room and ask for TP. We were given a few bath towels. Obviously there's a language barrier. I used Clorox wipes to wipe down all handles, switches, counters, rods, and the URINE FROM THE TOP AND SEAT OF THE TOILET. The smears on the toilet, toilet paper dispenser, and tub next to the toilet were gross. Again don't want to know what they were. The floor was sticky. The throw rugs had stains, which looked like someone had some sex-capade. The phone rang each of the two mornings at 5:30 am, not requested by us. Oh and the a/c unit is very old. Not sure if the filters have ever been changed. The unit itself on the inside of the room was very dirty. One more thing. The window you can't see out of. Either the seal has broken on the double pane windows, or they were extremely dirty. Save your money and stay elsewhere!!

General rule for hotel breakfast: is get there earlier, we were highly impressed with the selection.
