I didn't take the time to read the details of each piece. I think you may enjoy the free exhibit if you're in the neighborhood. I thought the images were beautiful and I was entertained. I'll be sure to continue to check for future exhibits when I am visiting Mt. Sinai Hospital. The reception desk and information center staff were very helpful and I always feel welcome.

It is important before you arrive to know exactly what entrance and street address you will need to enter the building to get checked in. This is a very large hospital with more then one entrance on different streets. It goes on for blocks and blocks. I found the easiest way to get around NYC was to take Lyft to the hospital if you don't drive in to NYC. You can book them in advance and I never waited for a driver more then 2 minutes. It's door to door service and much easier and less stressful then taking a taxi. If your staying at the Marmara Hotel Mt. Sinai offers a FREE Shuttle bus to and from the hospital approximately every 1/2 hr. I did not use it because you have to walk a block down from the hotel and wait outside for the bus. If it's raining or snowing it's not convinent, plus I found the times didn't work for our appointmens. The Ichan School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital has so many different departments with top-notch physicians. The treatment my sister-in-law received was amazing! The lab was funded by NIH and NASA on the studies in motion sickness and mal de debarquement syndrome (MdDS). As a result of this research, this lab is the first ever to offer effective treatment for mal de debarquement syndrome and a host of other illnesses. I highly recommend making an appointment and coming here to see Mr. Sergei who was trained by NASA and worked with Dr. Dai.

He's six (five when he started) and taking the 2 hour "Art Experience" class. It's an intensive class where I think most of the kids are a little older than he is, but I think that pushes him to do better work. They vary the kinds of work they do so the kids learn a lot and don't get bored. Clay, cray-pas, paint, watercolor, paper mache, etc- he's done them all. I'm consistently impressed with the pieces he brings home. I can definitely see the growth he's had over the months he's been taking classes. The teachers are very knowledgeable and really push the kids to improve. They treat them like little artists instead of kids doing arts & crafts. I didn't need to sign him up for a class to just take up time, coming home with just more paper. He brings home beautiful work done as a result of gaining real skill.

I am about 4 months and everything was going fine until I got a call from the office saying I missed an appointment early on that day. Grace who was on the phone continued to argue with me saying I definitely missed it so I continued to defend myself and say I never missed an appointment nor was I ever late. She said "you missed it and that's that". Knowing I am pregnant and obviously stressed and super uncomfortable and didn't care to diffuse the situation instead kept arguing. She finally said there's an opening tomorrow and I can come in. I agreed and hung up the phone in an even more stressed out state. But it was settled. A few minutes later I get a phone call from the nurse Shirley who by the way pretty much runs the place and often plays "doctor". She immediately says she doesn't like the way the phone call went with Grace at the front desk and wanted me to apologize if I wanted to continue going there . I quickly said no thanks and hung up. She then tried calling again and again until finally she left a nasty voicemail asking how I'd like my medical record sent. This was below the line !!! I started thinking about what just happened and was in total disbelief. Did they forget I am the patient? That I am pregnant and stress should be eliminated? So if I did miss an appointment and maybe forgot to write it down was that a reason to act the way they did? Terrible!!!! My son has learned so many new things like his colors, numbers, and shapes in the matter of 2 months! My son is always so eager to go back to her daycare even over the weekend.
