I used the new automatic car wash on Liberty Blvd. 3 weeks ago during the grand opening. Three attendants guided me into the car wash and the scrubbing began. As I sat inside my 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser (collector car), I watched as the car wash brushes tore off my radio antenna.
Naturally I was not happy, as there was no signage displayed at the time to remove antennas, nor did any of the 3 attendants warn me of a possible threat before entering.
Afterward, I told an attendant about the damage and he documented, telling me that he would forward the information to the management and I should receive a response in approximately 1 week. I waited 2 weeks without any response, then I stopped by the car wash and spoke with the same attendant. He stated that he forwarded the information to management and I needed to be patient.
I patiently waited another week, then I sent a message to the management via their website. The following day I received a phone call from the management stating that the damage to my vehicle would not be covered by the car wash, as my vehicle was old and therefore not worthy of repair costs by the management of this car wash.
I'm not concerned about the cost that I will absorb to replace the antenna, but I'm extremely disappointed with the failure of the car wash owner to do the right thing. read more
