While I appreciate the outreach, it came after more than five weeks of repeated requests made both in person and by phone. During that time, we were consistently told that someone would contact us, yet no one ever did. Unfortunately, by the time management reached out, we had already made the decision to cancel our membership and move on. We have since found a private certified swim instructor who is able to provide one-on-one instruction at half the cost of what we were planning on paying with Big Blue . More importantly, the communication was immediate, straightforward, and responsive. This review was never about whether private lessons were available. It was about customer service, follow-through, and communication. Had someone simply returned one of our many requests with an honest update, we likely would have remained customers. I genuinely appreciate the instructors who worked with our son over the past two+ years and wish them the best. However, the lack of responsiveness from management ultimately led us to take our business elsewhere.

As long as your child can swim independently and are familiar with a few different swim strokes, they are allowed to join. I have found these classes to be a great way to strengthen their swimming skills and getting them used to drills in the water. Beginner classes are 1 hour long on T/Th from 5-6pm and your kid will get a great workout! They also learn how to move their legs to swim in place, how to swim holding the ball, pass the ball, score and block. When they have enough skill they can move on to the next level, which is M/T/Th from 5-6:30pm. My son has loved this year-round team; even in the winter he is excited to show up. From my observations, these swim sports help children develop some serious grit; rain or shine, they go in the water ready to practice. The coaches have been great too (shout out to coach Jake! And the others too, I just haven't learned their names). They RARELY cancel practice, unless there are thunderstorms. And the absolute best part of this club: canceling/starting a subscription is SUPER easy. As long as you give them notice in a timely manner, they just pause/restart your subscription without penalties or tricks like a lot of other places do. I highly recommend!

Both programs were coached exceptionally by Coach Mark! Coach Mark is an outstanding swim instructor with a longstanding, exceptional background in instructional aquatics, both in the pool and the ocean. That decision has been a very fortunate luck of the draw for my sister to have Isabella for her instructor. We had very low expectations for my sister's goal in learning to swim. However, with Isabella's guidance, care, compassion, and immense patience, my sister's progress has exceeded our expectations. Isabella is a wonderful instructor who embodies warmth, positivity, and is firm even when she brings on new challenges for growth, which is perfect for my sister. With her compassion and kindness, Isabella has managed to make major progress with my sister to allow swimming goggles to be placed over her eyes. For nearly all her life, my sister has hated being submerged under water, goggles over her eyes, or anything over her face, but Isabella has been able to change that and help my sister grow in less than a year. She was only 4, new to swimming, scared, crying, and clearly looking for her safe place -- her parents. Seeing staff block her from leaving the pool area while she was afraid was hard to watch as a parent. I remember talking to a "Karen" that worked there, "oh thats just how it is she will get use to it" same person that did not greet us when we stood at the counter waiting. Vibe was already off and I didn't notice my instincts. I don't believe this reflects every experience or everyone there, and maybe it was just that day or the staff we had. But for us, it was unforgettable. Looking back, I wish I had trusted my instincts sooner and spoken up more. Thankfully, after finding another swim school, she learned to love swimming and moved forward. Still, watching that footage today reminded me how important it is for parents to trust what they feel and advocate for their child.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

Decided to surprise my wife with a relaxing duffy boat ride for our wedding anniversary with some friends. Went straight to Yelp to do my research (thanks Yelp!). Originally, I was going to book with a rental company for Newport Harbor, but then came across a Groupon for PCH Electric Boats. After checking out their website and reading the glowing reviews on Yelp, I immediately booked. I called to book a white duffy boat on the day before Thanksgiving. The person on the phone was friendly, courteous and really easy-going. They asked if I had a Groupon and if I could provide the voucher number. BOOM. done. all set! I received an email with VERY DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS (including photos) of where to park and where the meeting area was. Additionally, a link to the waiver form that every passenger is required to fill out (even your babies) was included in that email. On the day of our booking, we were met by the owner Grant who I'm pretty sure was the same friendly, courteous and easy-going person I talked to on the phone days earlier when I booked. He provided specific instructions on where we're allowed to go and what to avoid. He saw we had several small children in our party and recommended everyone use the restroom nearby before boarding since there is not place to stop out in the harbor. After we came back from our potty break, Grant lead us down to the dock and got all the kiddos fitted for their life vests (all in great condition btw). He assisted us with our bags so we could focus on boarding the kids safely and even took a group photo for us! The boat was clean and easy to drive. The sound system was bumping and all the windows easily lifted up for that nice harbor breeze. It was a beautiful and memorable day. On our return, Grant was at the dock with one of his employees ready to receive us. He guided us in smoothly and as we were gathering our belongings and cleaning up, he helped all the kids out and grabbed our bags. We handed Grant a tip and immediately he passed it over to his employee who was going to do the post-ride cleaning.. what a great boss!!!! Definitely will be booking with PCH Electric Boats again! Thanks Grant!!!!

It is a disgrace and you should be out out of business. In your statement you said this was a coincidence to do a "drop drill" as he had slapped your chest, but your demeanor and how you grabbed the child shows differently. As a father, I grew angry as I watched the video and am thankful I am not put in that position of being the child's father because we would have some words.

She had…read moredone one session at a swim school the year before and one week at the YMCA 2 months prior to John. Both experiences were crowded and a lot of sitting and waiting. John encourages the "athlete", gives them confidence, and teaches them to swim. On the last two days of class, John taught my husband and I how to continue to work with our daughter on the 10 minute drills. He makes it look easy! It's actually quite a workout for the coach and athlete. We've been practicing and my daughter is becoming such a strong swimmer. She feels so successful and confident in the water now. I've seen her modeling remain focused when in the water so kids can be comfortable in it. Katie's sense of humor helps manage fears that can make learners hesitant. She's also very serious about the skills she teaches and motivates her little swimmers to trust they can learn those skills. We've been lucky with her.
