Update: After…read moreposting this review, we did finally receive a voicemail from management apologizing for the experience and acknowledging the communication breakdown. While I appreciate the outreach, it came after more than five weeks of repeated requests made both in person and by phone. During that time, we were consistently told that someone would contact us, yet no one ever did. Unfortunately, by the time management reached out, we had already made the decision to cancel our membership and move on. We have since found a private certified swim instructor who is able to provide one-on-one instruction at half the cost of what we were planning on paying with Big Blue . More importantly, the communication was immediate, straightforward, and responsive. This review was never about whether private lessons were available. It was about customer service, follow-through, and communication. Had someone simply returned one of our many requests with an honest update, we likely would have remained customers. I genuinely appreciate the instructors who worked with our son over the past two+ years and wish them the best. However, the lack of responsiveness from management ultimately led us to take our business elsewhere.

I have found these classes to be a great way to strengthen their swimming skills and getting them used to drills in the water. Beginner classes are 1 hour long on T/Th from 5-6pm and your kid will get a great workout! They also learn how to move their legs to swim in place, how to swim holding the ball, pass the ball, score and block. When they have enough skill they can move on to the next level, which is M/T/Th from 5-6:30pm. My son has loved this year-round team; even in the winter he is excited to show up. From my observations, these swim sports help children develop some serious grit; rain or shine, they go in the water ready to practice. The coaches have been great too (shout out to coach Jake! And the others too, I just haven't learned their names). They RARELY cancel practice, unless there are thunderstorms. And the absolute best part of this club: canceling/starting a subscription is SUPER easy. As long as you give them notice in a timely manner, they just pause/restart your subscription without penalties or tricks like a lot of other places do. I highly recommend!

Both programs were coached exceptionally by Coach Mark! Coach Mark is an outstanding swim instructor with a longstanding, exceptional background in instructional aquatics, both in the pool and the ocean. But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

Too hard to find open swim time, too hard to properly staff lifeguards, too hard to get funding to finish the pool remodel, too hard fathoming the loss of all that money updating a clubhouse that was in better shape than the pool. Too hard justifying $85 per month, year 'round, and soon to increase...again. We'll miss the tennis courts...easily the best part and most under used part of the club. Epic Friday night family parties with the kids safely swimming (with a lifeguard) while the folks get hammered. Campfire smores, good friends and a wonderful staff. See ya.......................

Decided to surprise my wife with a relaxing duffy boat ride for our wedding anniversary with some friends. Went straight to Yelp to do my research (thanks Yelp!). Originally, I was going to book with a rental company for Newport Harbor, but then came across a Groupon for PCH Electric Boats. After checking out their website and reading the glowing reviews on Yelp, I immediately booked. I called to book a white duffy boat on the day before Thanksgiving. The person on the phone was friendly, courteous and really easy-going. They asked if I had a Groupon and if I could provide the voucher number. BOOM. done. all set! I received an email with VERY DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS (including photos) of where to park and where the meeting area was. Additionally, a link to the waiver form that every passenger is required to fill out (even your babies) was included in that email. On the day of our booking, we were met by the owner Grant who I'm pretty sure was the same friendly, courteous and easy-going person I talked to on the phone days earlier when I booked. He provided specific instructions on where we're allowed to go and what to avoid. He saw we had several small children in our party and recommended everyone use the restroom nearby before boarding since there is not place to stop out in the harbor. After we came back from our potty break, Grant lead us down to the dock and got all the kiddos fitted for their life vests (all in great condition btw). He assisted us with our bags so we could focus on boarding the kids safely and even took a group photo for us! The boat was clean and easy to drive. The sound system was bumping and all the windows easily lifted up for that nice harbor breeze. It was a beautiful and memorable day. On our return, Grant was at the dock with one of his employees ready to receive us. He guided us in smoothly and as we were gathering our belongings and cleaning up, he helped all the kids out and grabbed our bags. We handed Grant a tip and immediately he passed it over to his employee who was going to do the post-ride cleaning.. what a great boss!!!! Definitely will be booking with PCH Electric Boats again! Thanks Grant!!!!

My wife had never been around water in her life, because she was too scared of water. She couldn't even get in 3~4ft pool for children. So, I made her to take Temple's classes 8 times. After 2~3 classes, she overcame scary of water and started to swim in deep water. Then, her swimming skill got better and took another 8 classes. Now, she is trying to practice all swimming skill including butterfly for herself. I am very happy to see her swimming, because I can enjoy ocean sports with my wife now. Temple is a real professional swimming instructor, not only because her swimming training is great but also she knows how to treat students like my wife. In addition, Temple offers great pool with warm water. It is really good for beginners to be relexed in the water. In Temple's lesson, my wife practiced swimming with comfortable mind. I know it becaue I watched her lesson all the time. I strongly recommend Temple especially to anyone who wants to get over scary of water and to learn swimming in short period of time. read more
