They have basque cheesecake which is richer and the flavour I'm sure the person I'm gifting would confidently enjoy but I wasn't sure if they would prefer the lightness of their popular options over the classic. She explained the glazed popular cheesecakes they have aren't regular New York style cheese cake (despite their Uber Eats describing it as such for their Yakult flavour cheese cake). It's more like cheesecake mousse. I didn't want to get the basque cheesecake because it didn't look as nice. So she said the black sesame is in between the classic basque / New York cheesecake and the popular glazed mousse cheesecake. It's also made of marscapone and layered with matcha and not too sweet. It's also her fav so I went with her recommendation. I notice the black sesame cake isn't shown as available on Uber Eats delivery. I decided to pick up in person to make sure the delivery goes smoothly. The price difference is just $1. However, Uber Eats does charge tax and other fees whereas there's no tax at all on pick up. I eventually tried a piece and it does taste like a hybrid cheesecake in texture though the middle thin layer is a bit soggy, though I didn't mind that part. However, even though I love matcha I'm not a fan of the matcha and black sesame combination. I think I would've like a layer with more intense black sesame as the cake itself and the black sesame very subtle. The matcha is more intense creating an imbalance and over powers the black sesame flavour in the cake. Still a tasty cake especially for someone that prefers lighter not too sweet cakes. Note the staff does hand you the payment and there's a tip option of 10% as the lowest suggested option, which I found kinda excessive for just putting a cake in the box. They don't even make cakes at this location. It's all made in the Sauga location and she didn't even write the happy birthday on the cake. I know it's optional but it's just the consumer experience, I tipped but I feel like the tipping culture is a bit excessive to pass onto the consumer to tip on an expensive cake. Just price the cake fairly to compensate the employee or waive for pick ups and have it for only dine-ins. Unlike the previous review, it seems like they do provide a little free happy birthday topper and also a complimentary skinny candle and you're also welcome to buy extra candles if you want. They also sell some $10~ decorative helium balloons to make your celebration a bit more festive. This is their second location. The main one being in Sauga, which I've been told has been in operation for over 25 years apparently. This one I was told was opened in the last 2 years.

The amount I was charged was more than what I agreed to and I asked if I could have extra icing in a container and of course pay extra. The salesperson said she needed to speak to the baker and when she came back she told me the baker said no. I asked for the owner to contact me. I left the store not happy. There is so much to be said about great customer service and this store lacks it. Being overcharged and not being able to get extra icing, driving around because someone couldn't pick up the phone to an owner not following up with an upset customer. This speaks volumes' about the way the store is run. I guess this owner is doing really well to lose a customer that would be spending $200 every month. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Will not be returning, no surprise and will share my story as having a voice is important for others to make proper decisions about their shopping choices. Just do the right thing. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I grabbed a slice chocolate chiffon cake, chocolate stuffed cake, lemon strawberry croissant and a strawberry mochi donut to try. Loved them all.
