Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. Prices have increased for 2024, the King Donut is now $5.19, a croissant is $6-7. A new app for the Canadian stores changed over so all previous points have been lost. Way less deals and promos than previous. Quality is still there, and most pastries will sell out before lunch. Must try items are anything croissant related, the King Donut filled with fresh pastry cream. The cakes slices are nice, not overly sweet. It's really pretty for photos like the rainbow one but my kids aren't keen on finishing these ones. So at that price point it's suited for adults . read more

I got a rainbow cake slice as takeout so only commenting on the cake itself. The cake slice is so small in real life and it costs a whopping $8.5 plus tax. It's mostly for the gram. The cake itself is moist and fluffy, the cream is light, the layers do have different flavors to it so it's not just food coloring, to my surprise. I heard this place was good and wanted to check it out! The bakery was spacious with a good assortment of pastries to choose from. There was a nice seating area that reminded me of, you guessed it, Paris. I selected a few pastries that I wanted to try and also tried their strawberry shortcake which I heard was amazing. I'm not sure if it was overhyped but I didn't think it was that special. Overall, I thought the pastries were mediocre for their steep prices. Wonderful cute bakery in New Market! You would think you left Canada and flew all the way to Paris. All of the items are presented so beautifully and looked very fresh. My colleague and I were at a workshop and needed a quick lunch. We found this plaza and it had so many places to choose from that I felt like we hit the lunch jackpot! I haven't heard of Paris Baguette but the reviews were good and photos looked enticing. Upon entry I noticed the selection was very diverse not just in bakery items but also in culture. There were the regular croissant options (almond, chocolate, ham & cheese, etc) various breads, donuts and even mochi donuts and Asian milk breads! The cake display was impressive as well. With almost too many choices, I got a ham & cheese croissant for lunch (heated) and took home the coffee cronut, an almond croissant and chocolate one. I love this place. I've been coming here since they first opened. The pastries are amazing!! I love their Cronuts, cake slices and mochi donuts. It was sooo delicious, I've never had anything I haven't loved from here. a cute little addition in newmarket! n_n i am always looking for a cute coffee shop that is not starbucks and paris baguette may be it! it's right off the 404 and seems like your average basic cafe - and it is, in a way. they had a wider selection of pastries than i've ever seen in a regular cafe and unique ones - ranging from fruit tarts to croissant donuts and even this one i definitely have to try next time, a croissant crisp?! the pastries are really filling and delicious - worth every calorie. the latte is okay, didn't find it super creamy or anything out of the ordinary. if anything, it is a bit more watered down than i would like. the only thing is, i really don't enjoy how a latte after changing the milk ends up being $8.
