They fit him for Dentures. After 5 months,the dentist said they lost the dentures and had to start over. The Dentist refunded his portion,but still charged the insurance company. He went 6 months without dentures. The dentures were ill fitting. He had to file of burrs himself. Finally he went to a new dentist. The original dentures were so bad they had to make new dentures. On Friday, Dr Hudak prepped me for a crown, then used his connections to fast-track a visit to an endodontist to re-root an infected canal on another tooth. Sent the imprint to the lab over the weekend to make a crown, then on Monday I was in his chair again, to do cosmetics on the tooth that had the canal-work done, and install my new crown. Both Drs let me know what was going on step by step and followed up with calls to make sure I was ok. Despite the unpleasantness, I feel well handled.

However, the Sinick dentist told me I needed a dental implant after spending about a minute with me, with zero explanations, and their treatment plan was a very large amount of money (over $7,000) I got a second opinion. This dentist spent much more time with me, actually showed me the x-rays, and offered less expensive options such as a bridge that Sinick did not. Additionally, the cost of the implant was less. Doctor Then is the kind of dentist who I would (and have!) travel long distances to see. I've been…read moregoing to him since childhood, and even after moving out of state and changing insurance, I would still pay out of pocket to have my teeth cleaned and checked by him. He's just that good. He adopts a conservative approach to caring for your teeth, not undertaking a procedure unless it's truly absolutely necessary. For example, I recently went to another area dentist for a regular series of x-rays (because my insurance has changed and I'm no longer covered through Dr. Then), and was told I likely needed a root canal and a crown--a far more expensive procedure. After sufficiently freaking out, I went to Dr. Then for a second opinion, and he was able to fill the cavity rather than push me towards the more elaborate, pricey scenario. He will NOT try to up-sell you on work that you don't need done. He and his support staff are also incredibly kind and personable. Whether you are getting a cleaning or a cavity filled, you can be assured that the work will be done in the gentlest way possible. He always says that he doesn't like pain either, so why would he pass it on to his patients. His office is clean, simple, and welcoming. I've been to other dentists who have bells and whistles like TVs in each of the patient rooms, and elaborately decorated waiting rooms, yet the actual service they provide is far inferior to Dr. Then's. I have been in the expert care of Dr. Then and his staff for many years, and I enthusiastically recommend him.

***CAVITY FILL NIGHTMARE*** This is a long one, but worth…read morethe read. I had been a patient here for years and had lots of good experiences. That's until I let them know I was moving, and attitudes seemed to change. I needed three cavities filled and was able to squeeze in an appointment a few days before my move. It was a long and uncomfortable experience. I believe I was given too much numbing cream and was extremely numb for a good part of the day. The dental assistant even made a comment, "wow, you're really numb". When they finished, I went down the hall to use the restroom. When I looked in the mirror, I immediately noticed a change to one of my teeth. I have the front four bonded and it was clear that one had been chipped. I went back into the office and was brushed off by the lady that did the fillings. Thinking I was crazy, I left and went home. Looking again in the car and when I went home, I was certain there was a small chip and a bit of a jagged edge to my tooth. With my move around the corner, I debated on going back. That's until I tried to floss... between the teeth that were filled, I could barely get floss in and actually broke my floss trying. At this point, I knew I had to go back. When I sat down and explained to the dentist about the chip and problem getting floss in between the filled teeth, he literally shrugged his shoulders at me. ZERO apology for chipping my tooth. I understand my teeth are bonded, but this has not happened in decades, and was clearly their doing. He said my options were to file the rough edge or CHARGE ME $200 to add bonding. Yes, the bonding THEY broke, I would have to pay to get fixed. It was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had with a business. I honestly just wanted to get out of there, so had him file it. This left me with a slightly larger gap, but I figured I would just live with it. Fast forward a couple weeks, and I'm now moved across country. One of the teeth that they filled, is now sensitive to cold and I'm going to have to find a dentist quickly to look at it and fix it. WOW. I am absolutely disgusted at the whole situation and they will not receive a penny from me, outside of what they've taken from insurance. This was a reminder, that you never really know someone or a company, until you do. I would warn anyone going here, that they may present to have your best interest in mind, until they don't.

My bad experience came immediately after the numbing injections wore off, and the weeks of painful aftercare that ensued thereafter - that still persists at this very moment. Right now, 3 months later, I'm still taking pain meds to eat on my right side only, because without the meds, I can only eat on my left side. AND THE LEFT SIDE HAD ***NO PAIN*** when I scheduled the appointment!!!!! ..I went there to simply have filings removed and a crown put in, and now I have to find a QUALIFIED dentist to repair all the damage. These people have no idea what they're doing. Any good review is either lying, or they were lucky. Go at your own risk.
