I just picked up my first box of lusciously green goodies tonight to kick off the 2011 season and I'm so excited! Giving Tree Farm is a non-profit run by Community-Based Interventions. It started as a community garden for people with disabilities and today is the home of vocational training and rehabilitation for people who have suffered brain injuries. You can find their produce in local farmers markets and at the East Lansing Food Co-Op [ http://www.yelp.com/biz/east-lansing-food-co-operative-east-lansing ] as well as in local restaurants. I love everything about this place... you've got to check them out and give their wonderfully fresh and healthy produce a try. I have been standing in my kitchen eating spinach and mixed spring salad out of the bag for the last 10 minutes.

They also have a lot of groceries including fresh fruit and vegetables, which can be hard to come by in a neighborhood store. There is a decent selection of international foods as well. This is a magnificent, rustic, unique, expansive establishment that offers a cornucopia of items. From floral, to meats, cheeses, wine, speciality items, fruits, snacks, vegetables, hard-to-find items and more. There is so much more!
