Dr Mardiney was extremely helpful and thorough. We spoke extensively about my health history and specifically my asthma. We talked about an updated treatment plan that I'm excited and hopeful about. He also gave me some tips on how to reduce the risk of an asthma attack. The wait time was as expected. Just like any other doctor's office, you're rarely seen right at your appointment time. You don't know how many times I've had to call around to get a semi-decent appointment that isn't months away, let alone an office accepting new patients *insert upside down smiley face emoji* So, I've never had allergy problems, but experienced a random bout of hives that led to further (expensive lol) complications. I was advised to find an allergist that could help me diagnose the cause, so that it never happens again. Shudders in throwback memories. Found Allergy & Asthma Center through my insurance and immediately called right away and got booked for a few days later. The waiting area was large, with chairs clearly set up 6ft apart. I only had to wait a few minutes before getting taken back to see Dr. Korff. She was very straight to the point after hearing my story and we got right to testing potential environmental and food allergies. Unfortunately, we didn't get to the root cause of that random episode, but we knew what didn't cause the issue, which is just as good. Pretty sure I'm a one-and-done patient here, but definitely recommend for those who are looking for an efficient provider office.

Initially I tried to make an appointment at the Wilkens Avenue location, (they are only open on Thurs/Fri) but in order to be seen quicker, I came here first. I called Friday, my appointment was scheduled for the following Wednesday. I don't think that is too bad considering I'm a new patient. I was instructed to go on the website and complete the new patient information. Everything was pretty seamless. Location: On Gov. Warfield Pkwy, in the brown approx 6 story tall M&T building right outside of the mall nearest the entrance of the Nordstrom/Macy's. The building is fairly easy to spot. Ambience: The office is flippin huge! So much so that it can be slightly overwhelming. There are two sides to check in depending on which Doctor you are there to see, if you need allergy shots.... Staff: Check in was easy, I didn't wait long past my appointment time to be seen for vitals and the like. Dr. Neuman Sunshine was my assigned physician, she was absolutely wonderful! She had this awesome disposition, and she truly made me feel like she genuinely cares for her patients. She was very detailed in taking a history and totally took into account all of my concerns. She was easy to talk to and explained all options available to me. I'm really happy that I found this office, and will definitely be returning! Here's to being able to function during allergy season! She was very understanding and made sure she was able provide me with my needs. The whole process took about 2hrs but the 2 hrs went by really fast. From completing the forms to actually being tested for the different types of allergies. I left finding out I am actually allergic to cats and dogs!!!!! I had no idea. Let me start by saying that in Frederick, this was the first practice that would even consider seeing me after calling everyone I could to try and continue my immunotherapy that I have been getting for 8 years in two different cities. I was told that "we don't do that" by two other doctors. After waiting a month and a half for the first available appointment, I came into the office. The office is dark and depressing. I met with Dr. Muniz who seemed perfectly willing to give me my shots after getting my records from another office. However, as I left I was slightly concerned when he said "if you haven't heard from us in a month, give us a call." The front desk lady then asked for the mailing address of my old doctor to get my records. I gave them a fax number, phone number, address, and signed forms that they required. One month later, I call to see how things were going. The person who took my call was either in a bad mood or something, asked what I meant by "things" and reprimanded me for telling her the name I have gone by my entire life instead of my legal first name, both of which should have been in my file. Many of my doctors are able to find my file with both names. Then she asked if I wanted to start shots -- the entire reason I came in in the first place. I am now confused as to why I had to go into the appointment in the first place. They said they would "send me a packet" which I guess meant by mail because they are about 20 years behind in terms of technology and then I could make an appointment. Just looking for some decent medical care in Frederick and was again disappointed. This practice was confusing, disorganized, and moved painfully slowly to get something VERY commonplace and easy to do. I have never had so much difficulty with getting medical care. I never received a packet, only a bill. Needless to say - I will not be getting my shots here.

From start to finish, the level of unprofessionalism, disorganization, and outright hostility was beyond anything I have ever encountered in a medical setting. First, the front desk lost my referral. I later received an unexpected text about a $250 deductible, which I do not have to pay under my insurance plan. In an attempt to understand this text I called the front desk where they proceeded to hang up on me three times. Red flag after red flag. When I arrived for my daughter's allergy testing, we were forced to wait over an hour. When she finally came in, instead of focusing on my daughter's allergy concerns, she immediately wanted to discuss the complaints I had about her office. Mind you, by this point, I had already been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes. She outright refused to see my child unless I first told her how she could improve her business practices. Completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I insisted that the medical appointment be focused on my daughter and her needs. However, the doctor disagreed and continued to argue. Then, she actually refused to see my child, so I decided to collect my daughter's paperwork and that's when things escalated from her end. This is where my 15 years old daughter decided to intervene. My daughter told her how unprofessional she was behaving. Instead of regaining her composure, Dr. Ispas started yelling at my daughter too. At that point, I had to tell her to breathe and stop interrupting. I gave her two clear options: 1. Test my daughter, and afterward, I'd privately explain the issues I had with her office. 2. Refuse to see my child, and I would leave an honest review online. She made her choice. Upon exiting the lobby of her office Dr. Ispas started following us out into the hallway as she continued to yell. My daughter actually shut the door to her office upon exiting, but that didn't stop her--she opened it right back up and followed us down the hallway to the exit, only stopping when she realized my daughter was recording the entire thing. This experience was beyond unprofessional--it was downright hostile. No patient, especially a child, should ever be treated this way. If you are considering this office, run in the opposite direction. There are plenty of other allergy specialists in the area who actually respect their patients and their time.
