Great place for grooming and nail trim! My Frenchie hates anyone to touch his nails, but they get him in and out easy peasy.

Worst customer service ever. They don't answer phones. Alex said "we're too busy to answer phones."How do you trust them to care for your pet when you can't communicate with them. I will NEVER recommend them or trust them with my dogs. It's not worth the discount price for such poor service nor care for customers To your response, if you would answer a phone you could confirm a time and be courteous. read more

Ok, let me start by saying this is the hidden gem of dog groomers. I have taken my portidoodle to many different groomers in her short 1 year life lol. Alley Pets by far is the best yet. My pup was comfortable, groomed very well. I pre booked her next appointment bc these guys are in high demand for the doodle breed. Anyone who has a doodle knows how hard it is to find a talented groomer. Look no further. Very clean, easy parking, great customer service. My pup desperately needed a nail trim. My vet stopped providing this service without a medical/vet appointment. I'd taken him to a really nice place in montecito, but the price tag was a bit steep just for a nail trim. I took a chance on this place, and was so pleased. I have an anxious dog that really dislikes his pedicures, but when the gentleman took him back, he seemed very calm. I heard them clipping his nails in the back, and my pup didn't make a sound! When they brought him back out, he wasn't even shaking (which is pretty usual behavior for him). When I went to pay, I was very pleased with the price! Almost 1/3 of what the other dog salon was charging, and my pup seemed more at ease here. I will 100% be coming back. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't need frills, bells and whistles. If you want a certain style for a special breed, maybe the montecito salon is for you. But all my pup needed was trimmed nails for comfy paws. Definitely try these guys out! read more

The employees here are so kind hearted! They groom & pamper our dog, who is 16 years old and has congestive heart failure. (A little black toy/teacup poodle) They are so gentle with her and she always is SO happy and looks so cute after her grooming appointment at Allie pets. I've been taking my dogs to Alley Pets for years. I moved 280 miles from Carpinteria 4 years ago. I tried groomers in the new area. Forget it. It's worth it for me to drive back to Carp to get my dogs groomed. They are happy and they always look good when we leave. The employees, groomer are super nice!! If you are a local to Carp, this is the place to go. It is a bit hard to find but it is next to the Smart and Final off Linden and it looks like a horse feed store from the outside. They have great prices and best of all are nice and accommodating. You do get what you pay for. The prices are extremely reasonable but the haircut might be 90% of what you pay a high end dog groomer. What I mean is there are no frills to this place so don't expect teeth brushing, perfectly groomed paws or an exact haircut that matches the standard breed (they go for efficiency here). Still for a third of the price, I am willing to take their cuts which are still high quality! read more

I just moved to Carpinteria, and was recommended to Alley Pets by my landlord. I was not disappointed! I took my 12 year old Westie in for a haircut. He looks wonderful and they treated him very well. Only downside is that is not well marked at all and was a bit harder to find as I am so new to the area. But that's all ok and the staff was very nice. I'll go back! read more

Alex and Jose are two of the most relaxed guys I've ever met. They are super helpful and know their stuff. I was directed to their store when the market I would usually buy my dogs kibble, stopped carrying that brand. I live in Santa Barbara and not that Carp is that far away, sometimes I just don't want to deal with the traffic. When I told Alex I was coming from Santa Barbara to buy the food he was surprised, I said well no one else in town has this brand. He told me Lemos is probably gonna start carrying the kibble, but I will sit in traffic and to give my business to Alley Pets. I want to give them my business because they're nice guys with integrity, running a local "mom and pop" store and I like to support local shops. Keep up the good work guys! See ya soon. Good stuff!! I brought my little puppy Luke here for his first ever grooming and nail clipping and was really impressed with the results and with the puppy's demeanor following the appointment -- he was his usual friendly self, not freaked out at all. Took my terrier in 2 times. First cut too long and not what I asked. Tried again. Same problem. Not cut short enough after asking for summer cut. Worse than that, he came back with flees. When I called they claimed no flee problem but not true. After talking to many neighbors, found they were very disappointed also. Will not take my boy again. read more

Alley Pets is one of the secret gems of Carpinteria. A treasure that I just found. I have a Soft-Coated Wheaten who I've had groomed many places. She comes back looking like a Schnauzer or worse.
