Primal quail and rabbit
Chels I.

10/10 for this place! 1. They have a wide selection of toys- have my pups favorite lamb! But many many many more! 2. Wide variety of dog food! They have Primal food- AND a wide variety of flavors. Dog stores sometimes carry chicken and beef but I've never seen quail, duck, venison, turkey, salmon! They have a ton of toppers, milk, and even treats from primal I have never seen! Also! They have buy 12 get one free cards! (Just for primal I believe) 3. Friendliest, helpful staff! I'm so happy I found this place! i never thought to look them up because I assumed a small town place wouldn't carry my dogs food(we move a lot, and I've had a hard time finding it), this gem will forever have my business while I'm within 50 miles.... Just welcoming, home-y, feel. Love it! Thank you!

That leathery toy is still good!!!
Emmy C.

Came in here a couple times, I found a toy my dogs have not destroyed. Every time we buy them soft toys they kill it. They always rip it apart and the stuffings all over the house. They sell these leathery looking toys that are double-stitched and when I asked them how durable they where I was told they haven't had anyone returned them yet. If your dogs love stop squeaky toys but rip through them within minutes you should also get that leathery looking toy too! I did post a picture with my dog playing with it. They also sell crates and I know I could have gotten it from chewy, but I wanted to see the size in person

Dog Allergy Chews
Sailor B.

My dog had itchy skin and I originally came in for a cone, but the employee of the shop pointed my to these allergy support chews and after a couple days my dog completely stopped itching. She was very knowledgeable, caring and pointed me in the right direction. Even saved us a pet visit. There is a lot of product and affordable prices. 10/10 recommend.

Trouble and Coco enjoying

We usually shop at the Santa Barbara store, but we were driving through Carpinteria on our way to do some goodbye parties for my 18-year-old copilot in life Coco. When we went to pay for them, the manager says they were on the house. We have always shopped at lemos because we support locally owned businesses, and this is why. Thank you Lemos for being there for us.

By day 4 he succumbed to acute blindness. How a vet was not alarmed seeing the dosage on the bottle is beyond me. Ophthalmologist verify our cat is completely irreversibly blind due to its toxicity. I've had vets for over 30 years and never had anyone been this gross negligent. Another woman shared on my Nextdoor post that her dog was prescribed antibiotic by this same vet and caused fatal internal bleeding. Fatal. It makes me wonder what kind of vet this woman is. She's only been there since Feb 2023, just a short 3 years. There may be other cases we don't know about. Beware. If you choose them, you should really google info and ask PetMD about the meds/dosage. I did file a complaint with VMB. CA law does not punish vet malpractice unless it's proven to be intentional. VMB is a division of the Department of Consumer Affairs. They will investigate and do have a measure of accountability from citing fines, to further training, to probation, to protocol requirements, to suspension and revoking license. Pet owners need qualified medical professionals treating our pet family members.

When he suddenly got very sick on Sunday evening, she interrupted her Memorial day weekend to drive to our house and put him gently to sleep, on the floor with the family all around. Now that I know Dr. Oliver is practicing at Animal Medical Clinic in Carpinteria I am relieved and happy to drive to Carpinteria for her services. It is a much friendlier and more efficient clinic than St.Francis. Dr. Oliver is by far the best small animal doctor I have ever had. She is kind, listens closely to what I tell her about my dog, Barkley, and is so gentle with him. After she examines Barkley she explains what tests might be indicated and after she reaches a diagnosis she explains clearly to me what treatment options we have and her recommendations. I understand she has years of experience with and is an excellent surgeon, as well.

Previously at White's Animal Hospital in Santa Barbara, Dr. Oliver currently practices at St. Francis Pet Clinic, also in Santa Barbara. She attained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, following an earlier career as a neuroscientist. Wow is this woman accomplished and one sharp thinker! My dogs all ADORE Dr. Oliver (my now elderly Pibble girl will only go willingly to this particular DVM--says "no" to other/Specialists!). She has cared for them all, both multiple Rescue Dogs and my own, with gentle warmth, caring, and insightful professionalism. In particular, I appreciate that Dr. Oliver collaborates so closely with her human clients in every step of the decision-making process. She promotes the "gold standard" level of care, but is also understanding and creative if finances will not permit this. Dr. Oliver is a true scientist, following current literature closely (evidence-based medicine), rather than "the way we've always done it" approach. She is open to and incorporates (proven) alternative & complementary therapies into her practice also. In other words, look no further--she's the best!

Camp Canine had a terrible tragedy this weekend. I have watched Camp Canine care for thousands of…read moredogs and their owners for over 40 years with a near-perfect track record. (No company or person is perfect and over 40 years of caring for hundreds of thousands of dogs, there will be some unfortunate events) The owners are passionate animal lovers. They give troubled dogs second chances and have donated thousands of nights of boarding. I once saw the owner take in a stray cat that was so flea ridden that its gums were white. The owner paid for the stray cat to get a blood transfusion. To me it was crazy, to her it was just what she does. I guarantee that over 99% of these recent reviews have had ZERO personal experience with Camp Canine. ZERO. But Apparently the social media lynch mob will stop at nothing short of death to this great company that has contributed to the Santa Barbara community for over 40 years. The mob wants blood. They want the owners and the dozens of employees to be ruined. The owners (wonderful people) are receiving credible death threats and being called every vile name in the English language. I am so disgusted with what our society has become. No shred of hesitation before going in for the kill like rabid animals. If you've read this far, you may have a shred of independent thinking. You are the few who may stop to consider the reason Bruce's owners weren't called immediately. It was because the employee that knows them best was going to take Bruce to them to apologize and hug them am cry with them instead of making an impersonal phone call. For this, she is getting death threats. For this, the owners "must die". Everyone there was distraught and in shock, deciding what to do in the terrible moment. The puppy being placed in a plastic tub was a man's (not an employee) quick decision which was not good. That is what is causing the most outcry in all of this. Think about it. Bruce had already tragically passed. That was not going to change. The heart broken employee wanted to deliver him personally to the owners that she knew would be devastated. That was going to be very hard to do. But she was going to do it. "Don't call them. I will take Bruce to them." For this she must be punished and shamed to death. The timeline is important too. Bruce was discovered at 1:30. Chris came at 3:00 to pick him up. That is not hours of "hiding the incident from the owners". People need to stop this horrific lynch mob, blood thirsty frenzy of disgusting behavior. God forbid any of those "perfect" people ever make a grave mistake. I would never wish on them what they are so freely dishing out here. I would never be such a vile vindictive person. It is utterly disgusting.

My daughter has been using Camp Canine for the past two years for her rescue dog, Lincoln, who…read morestruggles with anxiety. This is the first place Lincoln gets so happy and excited to go to. It goes without saying that our hearts go out to the pet parents who lost Bruce. And can't imagine how they are feeling. That said, the mob mentality seen here on Yelp and other social media --often from people who have never even been to the facility--along with the death threats, is mind-boggling. What kind of human beings are we becoming through social media? Most of the comments are coming from people who likely do not know that this company has been in business for 40+ years and this is the first time anything like this has happened. They have gone on record taking 100% responsibility for this horrible accident, and they are devastated for what happened with Bruce. One of the co-owners is a dedicated advocate who founded and runs K-911 Animal Rescue, which gives troubled dogs a second chance and empowers families and shelters.
