Alley Pub can be described as a few things...dive bar, local hangout, hole-in-the-wall, hidden gem, etc...and all would ring true! However, in addition to being all of those things, Alley Pub is also a great spot for brunch, dinner, late nights with friends, patio beers on a gorgeous Nashville day, sports bar and maybe most importantly a spot that has a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar on Sunday mornings with 2-for-1 beers all day! Since moving to Nashville and settling on the West end of town, I have heard about Alley Pub a lot and I finally checked it out and honestly am mad at myself for it taking so long! Alley Pub is located in the alley (surprise!) behind the shopping center that holds Gold's Gym at the corner of Old Hickory and 70. When they get busy, parking can be scarce right in front of Alley Pub, but you have the large lot on the other side of the building that is always available. As mentioned, Sunday's are the best day for Alley Pub given their brunch, Mimosa/Bloody Mary Bar and drink specials. Drink wise I started with the 2-for-1 Domestic draft beer and then migrated to the Bloody Mary bar. They bring you out a cold glass with Vodka and ice...more vodka than ice, and then you get to create your own bloody until your heart is content. The bar features a healthy variety of Bloody Mary mixes from local to well known and plain to extra spicy. Then you have your add-ins that include pickles, pickled asparagus, celery, beef sticks, bacon, olives and more plus a good selection of hot sauce too. If you decide to go mimosa, then they have you set there with a bar full of a variety of juices and add-ins such as fresh fruits! Food wise, our table got a few rounds of the Juan wings, which were phenomenal and may be my favorite wing in Nashville at this moment! Once we were a few drinks and wings in to the day we decided to grab a few things off the brunch menu and I ordered the Chicken N' Biscuits. I was a little worried as the description states that it is "2 Tenders" served on biscuits with sausage gravy, so I anticipated little pieces of frozen chicken...but I was wrong! The chicken was small breasts, not tenders, and it was breaded inhouse and fried to perfection! Those things on top of the soft biscuits and then add that gravy...I was feeling good! Service was also excellent. Our server was a long time server of Alley Pub, so everyone knew him and loved him, and for good reason...he was good people with great service! After all this stuff, still I fell short of 5 stars because of the smoking. You can no longer smoke inside, which is great, but it is allowed on the patio and the inside/patio is a constant flow due to the doors always being open. And if you want to sit outside, but don't smoke, then it can be a little overwhelming as the space is not super large...this is especially noticeable when the plastic surrounds are down outside. Overall, Alley Pub is an amazing spot in Bellevue. One that I will continue returning to as long as I live in Nashville! read more

My boyfriend and I recently lost our home and all of our belongings in an apartment fire. In between shopping for necessities we decided to stop by Alley Pub. We were NOT disappointed. Upon sharing our streak of bad luck with the owner, Mark (who is a retired firefighter) we were immediately made comfortable AND he made sure we were taken care of. I truly appreciate how involved the owner is with his restaurant and the clientele. Not to mention how kind and understanding he is. The restaurant is clean, everyone is socially distancing, wearing masks, and all of the employees are SO nice and accommodating. Don't even get me started on the menu! I need ALL of it! Alley Pub is going to be a place we quickly become regulars. 15/10 would recommend to everyone. We are definitely coming back on Sunday for the Bloody Mary, Mimosa, and 75cent wings! read more

Difficult to review. The food is good, especially the wings. Unfortunately, the service might be the worst in Nashville. It appears that people who manage the place or are on their day off get first priority. From there, it's people who are there to enjoy multiple alcoholic beverages, and customers who are there to dine (with or without alcohol) are last to be recognized, much less served. You have to ask to order (ESPECIALLY if you are not feeling alcohol that day), ask for utensils, ask for refills, and after waiting 25 minutes of having clean plates and empty glasses, ask for your check. Had some family in from out of town and decided to go to this local dive. Huge mistake, as soon as we entered the space I knew this was going to be a bad night. The bar wreaks of cigarettes, mold, and was very dirty. After sitting for 10 mins, a bartender comes over, throws her pen and pad on the table and says "what do you want"? We said some menus and a few minutes to look them over. She rolls her eyes and walks away.......and never returns. Now an older guy comes over to get our order. He was clearly hard of hearing but Refused to write anything down, which resulted in our drinks and food being wrong numerous times throughout the experience. The food...... was absolutely disgusting and inedible. The Cajun pasta was cold and literally made of canned ingredients. Biscuits where frozen garbage and the catfish was very bland. Horrible atmosphere, horrible service, and literally the worst food and drink I've had in Nashville. A complete dump, very unwelcoming. read more

I have been coming to Alley Pub for years and I've been neutral about it However, last week I had a terrible experience. I went with a friend for a few drinks after having dinner. My friend went outside to smoke, and a man who was slim with a beard. I cannot remember his name, threw a coaster at me and apologized, saying he was aiming for someone else. Then he decided to come over and talk to me. I was friendly and cordial. I like meeting new people and I took his word on the coaster. He said he had had Been aiming for a regular that he was throwing the coaster at because he worked there. Maybe he was trying to get my attention and that was cute but then I noticed he had a wedding ring on this made me a little uncomfortable But I was friendly because I don't know his situation. He told me that he works there on karaoke night, but he has an engineer job in the day. He was bragging a lot about himself, but what was very upsetting was that he started making comments about my body parts. I was OK that he said it once but he kept going on and on and it started making me feel uncomfortable to the point that I got my check. I don't mind a compliment, but I started to get uncomfortable and he could see that, but he kept saying detailed and specific sexual comments and then I got scared. As someone who works there I think that maybe he should be more professional. I felt so uncomfortable. When I got my check, they gave me the amount for my friend and I and I never asked to combine checks And I was too upset and uncomfortable to stay and try to fix that situation. I understand sometimes bars at night or a risk. You can get really perverted men that try to mess with you, but I would think that the staff will try to keep you safe and that would be their responsibility. This made me extremely uncomfortable. I won't be back, and I urge any single ladies to go elsewhere. read more

I've been a regular at Alley for a couple of years but I've never been treated as I was this evening. My server on the patio tabbed me out at 3 beers and three shots. I kept talking with my friends on the patio until the wee hours but what shocked me was my tab at the end of the evening. If I drank 5 more beers pints and 5 more shots one wold have to peel me off the floor but the bartender insisted that since i closed out earlier with my server, and started ordering from the bar, I'd drank 5 more pints and 5 more shots. I tried to argue that the system was somehow conflating the two tabs, but she insisted to the point of calling me a liar that I'd come up to her at the bar 5 times and orders 5 pints and 5 shots. I even looked at my table in disbelief. I'm not normally one to assign untoward intentions so I queried those at the table if they'd even seen me drink anything close to that. It's hidden in an alley in a shopping center, is large but not too big, loud but not too noisy and has your basic bar/bar food set up. The servers were friendly enough and the prices were reasonable. I had only been here a couple of times previously during the evening when a band was playing, but we decided to go on a Sunday afternoon for some food and a couple of afternoon drinks. There was about 15 people there and it took 7 minutes before anyone came over to get a drink or food order. We had to ask for menus. I asked for a water with lemon to go along with a mimosa, received an eye roll and never got my water, even after asking for it twice. The male server was less than stellar. We waited 15-20 minutes between visits from him, he'd be sitting outside talking to friends or smoking. We went for 20 minutes at one point without a drink, our food, or our check. I was so frustrated by the time we finally got our check, that I told the people with me that I wouldn't be back there for a long time, which is really unfortunate because before this visit, I'd had decent experiences here. This is a Wednesday night and it's not busy at all. I'm also a server myself and I understand that you can get busy. But this wasn't the case. Our server Maddie started out our table great. We had plenty of drinks, but I eventually went up to her and asked for a food menu, and after that I couldn't get her attention for over 25 minutes. So I asked the bartender if I could order food with her and she was extremely rude and said no we can order from our server... But she literally kept disappearing. Our server Maddie was too worried about smoking a cigarette and dancing. It's okay to have fun at your job, I'd never want someone who was working to be miserable but she wasn't paying us any attention. So we asked for our tab to close out. Bartender slapped the tab down for us and then our server started being passive aggressive. Dropping our food off with attitude and genuinely being rude when we wanted something. Alley Pub is a hidden gem. Good food, including the best burger west of White Bridge Road. And, they deliver through DoorDash! Generous pours. Good beer selection. Very personable bartenders and waitstaff. If you can't handle cigarette smoke, go to one of the other 99.9999% of places that ban smoking. I quit smoking years ago, but I don't begrudge smokers the very few places where they can have a drink and a cigarette in comfort. Good for Alley Pub! read more

Pretty simple bar for the burbs. A few beers on tap and an ok beer selection. As with most neighborhoods in the south, outside of the wealthier ones, you are bound to enjoy some good people watching of the NASCAR variety. I have been there 2 times. Once on Saturday, which was townie heaven. I feel like every Hillwood class from 1980 was represented there. Second time I stopped in on a Thursday. They were heavy on the bourbon pour that night, which was a good start, but the true entertainment value came from the kareoke. The night started off with a guy singing some country dance ballad and before he started singing, he said; "lets get some belly rubbin goin on up in hea!" ( i assumed he wanted people to dance). As you may imagine it was magic for the next couple of hours. Over all, great people watching and generous pours on well priced booze. This is my local bar. For those of you who don't know, Tues is $2 domestics. Thursday is ladies night (not sure what that even means as I'm not a lady). This place is usually packed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. As far as food goes, they have a really good burger, french dip, onion rings, and pizza. I'd probably rate them in that order. I like to stop by and eat there during the day every once in a while since I usually run in to someone I know. I can't really speak to the service there as I'm a regular and it's never an issue. I get a new beer when my current one is half full without even asking. I've never heard any complaints though, even with as crazy as it gets there on Fri/Sat. I'm not a huge fan of the music here which is mostly country, so I sneak my jukebox picks in there when I can. Overall though, I love the good ole boy atmosphere and usually always have a great time here; which is more than I could ever say about Players or AJs. read more

I go to the Alley Pub twice a month to get my Biscuit and Steak fix. The steak is mouthwatering and can be cut with a fork. The bands are always great. Depending on the bar staff, the drinks can be delicious or a bit watered down. ...Just wish that it was a no smoking establishment. read more

Would defnitely come back here. Service was great, super staff so friendly and helpful. Very happy bar. Margarita's were very good, not too tart, not too sweet. We didn't eat but other did and the food looked wonderful and "special" orders (no onions, half banana peppers, etc.) all came out correct. The house salads were very large and looked delicious.
