There was immediately hostility from her when it was time to change my order, as the fish batter did have milk in it. My husband modified my order to a tuna salad sandwich, verifying that this was a dairy-free option. However, she didn't seem to realize that butter was also dairy, and would have served me a buttered toasted bread with my sandwich if my father in law hadn't of thought to verify. I did not see her smile or greet any guests warmly in the time we were in the pub, which I usually don't care about, but when a server is openly hostile towards a party, it sours everyone's experience.
