Alliance Children's Garden is the most amazing children's park I've ever seen! My family and I were in Austin for a quick trip and we were looking for something to do in the morning to get our toddler tired before driving back to San Antonio. I remember seeing this park on Instagram and decided to check it out. We got to the park around 9am or so and the place was already packed and it was pretty difficult to find parking. The children's park is divided into two sections: one for smaller children (maybe 2-5 year old) and then another section for older kids (6+ years old). My kid went crazy at Alliance Children's Garden and he didn't stop running for a good two hour straight. Highly recommend this park to anyone with small children!

Love this children's park with all the fun activities, games and open space for my little toddler to run around. There's a huge rope climbing area for older kids, mini grass hills for little ones, sand pit, swings for all ages and a splash pad. The open grass area is so great for playing catch, frisbee or just running around. The downtown view is pretty amazing. Paid parking is available in the adjacent lot or there's free parking on the street.

Visited this park/playground/garden for a birthday party. I was very impressed by the kids play things which included hills with built in slides, wall climbing with rock climbing supports, a water pad fountain that shoots water up from many ground nozzles, and much much more. There was a nice sized lawn that the party was at which could be used by lots of groups if they wanted to just sit and relax, play soccer/frisbee or whatever their hearts desires. Oh and such a nice view of downtown Austin. I'll be back with my kids to experience the playground stuff again!

Very cool children's park! Super interactive and many unique play areas. There is also a splash pad! You could easily spend an hour or more here.

My husband and I try to diversify weekend activities to keep our 2-year-old active and engaged and we hit the jackpot here! Parking was very easy to find -probably because we came early (9AM)- but by the time we left folks were circling the parking lot waiting for others to pull out so they could snag a spot. So, my advice is to come early if you can. There were lots of walking paths, green areas, benches (some you can even swing on), and trees for shade (thank god!). The play areas were so unique. The rope area has a huge variety of set ups for climbing -there's a way for children of all ages to find a fun way to engage with the area. There are also these strangely cool swing thingies in the area where you can lay back and swing or sit up and ride it like a horse. There's a rock area with different rock walls to climb, varying levels of stairs, and a cool cement slide that you can walk up/down or slide on it as you traditionally would. There's also this really cool series of turf hills and tunnels for the kids to explore (a little anxiety inducing because you don't know exactly where your kid will come out). And, of course, there's a swing area --it doesn't have much shade but there's a shady area very close nearby. Lastly, part of the reason why we make a conscious effort to get out of the house is to feel connected to other humans. Especially now, when loneliness has been deemed an epidemic, connection is critically important for all of us to fight loneliness together. And this place gets a high connection score -- 5/5. There were endless opportunities to people watch and interact with other parents/kids because the areas are so open and there's so much seating and shade spread around. Lovely place! We're looking forward to going back.

Love it here. Daytime and night time. Can't wait for summer to get here so we can take all our children and fur babies.

OMG. Hands down best park around Austin! If you have a little ball of energy like I do, BRING a them here and they'll be pooped by bedtime haha.. so many things to do and climb on, swings cement slides, a big climbing structure and so much more!! We were sad last summer the splash pad was closed a lot, hopefully this summer it will be open more (:

Amazing park for the kiddos. Took my 5yr old son after the Cidercade. He loved it. We went at dusk and it was still plenty busy. Bring a towel and head over to the splash pad for a super fun water, light show. He ended up soaked and happy. Parking is a headache. Not many spaces available and you have to pay to park. But if you go after 5pm parking is free if you can find a spot.

We LOVE this park!! There are so many things to do! Sandbox, swings, huge slides, rope tower, and these cool turf mounds that give a sort of hobbit vibe. You'll definitely want to keep a close eye on your kids since there's a lot of short walls, tunnels and corners to loose track of your children. The parking can also be tricky. The lot isn't huge so it can be difficult to find a spot depending on the time of day. The view of downtown is amazing, especially in the evening!

Yes, the Zilker Zephyr (the little train) still exists in spirit, though it's been through closures and rebuilds. The current version -- the Zilker Eagle -- runs a short loop that's basically nostalgia on wheels. It's a lively, slightly chaotic stretch of water -- people wading, floating, splashing, and generally having a great time in a spot that feels like Barton Springs' unofficial side‑door entrance. Parking is its own adventure, especially on weekends, and you'll see people trekking across the park like they're on a pilgrimage from wherever they finally found a spot. But once you're in, it's easy to settle into the mix of sunshine, crowds, and classic Austin energy.
