There are more than 15 different buses near this house that will take you to wherever you want. The house is pretty and very clean. I was happy that I can use the kitchen free. The bathroom is always clean, because the host---James clean it every day. I am very happy with my experience in Woodville guesthouse. The host was very nice and with great hospitality. He cooks very well....to be honest I do miss his food......:-) My trip in London was perfect not only because of the view but also James and his guesthouse. To be honest with every one who will see my review, this guesthouse worth more than the price it charges. The host rents out 3 rooms in his house, and you have full access to the kitchen and the bathroom. I really liked the arrangement because I could cook me own meals and save some money on eating out. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The host, James, was very helpful and considerate. He is also very knowledgeable of London, so make sure to ask him for sightseeing suggestions. He is also very smart and pleasant to talk to. Definitely talk to him about art :) The house is situated in Walthamstow, one of the London suburbs. It's a nice neighborhood, there is a huge street market working on High street, so you can get, for example, fruits or other food for cheap. There are also at least three large supermarkets on High street, some pubs and restaurants if you don't cook or prefer eating out. Despite the presence of tha market I didn't have any problems with security, even when I came back late at night. The streets are well lit, there are police patrols, so it indeed feels quite safe. Walthamstow central station is within a 15-minute walking distance. There's a Victoria line Tube station there as well as buses and trains (I've never used the latter). The Underground will take you to King's Cross in 25 minutes and to Victoria Station in 40. The trains go every 3-7 minutes, but, unfortunately, I've found the London Underground to be quite unreliable, e.g. the service is disrupted sometimes -- but that is the problem you will have to face if you're staying in the suburbs (and a lot of other hostels and rentals are situated in the suburbs too). The buses are more reliable but take more time to reach London. There are night buses that run all night and you can use them if you're coming back late (the underground closes at 11pm). Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Woodville Guesthouse. It's a really good alternative to staying at a hotel if you're traveling on a budget.

The eating area cleaning person just swept the grime and dirt around the floor with the mop. A table that had all kinds of large food crumbs under it was that way for days. 3-night stay in 4-bed mixed dorm in March/April…read more The cafe area was so cute! When we arrived mid afternoon, there were so many people milling about on their laptops or chatting. It gave a pleasant feel. This is also the area you check-in at. The front-desk staff were very friendly and walked us through how to use our key cards and where things were located. The room looked like a dorm room, as expected, with bunk beds and lockers. We also had a private bathroom and shower, which I was pleasantly surprised about. We couldn't get the A/C to work, so we had to keep the windows cracked at all times. It would've been nice to be able to open the window completely for more airflow as it got stuffy/warm often. The beds are a place to sleep... don't expect much comfort. Loved the basement common areas! So much space and unique places to sit. It is also a bar at night with karaoke and lots of people mingling. Overall, it was a clean and fun hostel experience.

I don't thinks that's fair. Room service is not prompt. And the restrooms and the rooms stink. Absolutely no ventilation in the restrooms. The Wombats at Budapest was 10 times better and that's the reason I chose to stay here, but I'm disappointed.

It's really a luck of the draw who you might get to sleep next to if they snore or so, fortunately I only had one night of loud snoring and it was reasonable with the free earbuds they offer at the lobby. The lobby and quad areas are super chill like ideal to mingle and meet people to hang with. It was like staying in a camp / college dorm type experience I guess. I found the location to be ideal, easy access to public transportation and underground. I walked / bussed most of the places I went such as Box Park, Brick Lane, Leadenhall Market, etc. I particularly loved all the street art. There's also a 24/7 market I found convenient to purchase groceries from, which I left in the fridge. The kitchen is neat, small, but everyone seemed to be respectful in not eating anyone else's food unless they put in the Share Shelf if left behind by other travelers. Some people also used the kitchen pots and pans to make their meals. There's breakfast offered, decent eggs, toast, oatmeal, juices, coffee. Had I known I probably would've stayed here longer, i would totally stay here again.

Being from a small town in the states, I was super nervous about getting from Gatwick to Victoria Station and transferring to the underground, but the directions posted on Park Villa's website were flawless. If you need to stay in London on a budget, but want a quiet, more adult experience (many lot my roommates were professors or people in town for a conference at the neighboring university , this is your place.

It would have been a moderately sufficient place to stay for the evening, despite the room very…read moremuch resembling an elongated prison cell (we are not generally picky about material things like this - so long as everything is clean - it was). The owner was nice enough, but his tune change significantly when we were waiting to get back into the building at 11pm. The man in front of us had forgotten the code but said the lock was broken. The owner finally opened the door, looking disgruntled and sounding even more so, with a hint of fury. It was a very awkward position to be put in as they stood arguing in the main doorway. In addition to this, a group of young guests stood in the hallway all night having loud debates and laughing. At 4:45am we had had enough, asked them as nicely as possible to keep the noise down, and were told to f**k off in a rather aggressive manner. I barely slept a wink, with the thumping coming from the ceiling and the ticking of an ominous hidden clock within the room somewhere on top of the young guests just mentioned. I suppose we got what we paid for, as it was a less costly place to stay for a single night.
