The physicians in this practice made me feel like I was going crazy. Labeled me as a seeker. That they had no idea why I was experiencing and feeling everything that I was. Just shoot me up with steroids and send me on my way. Then I end up with a torn labrum in my hip that required surgery. Come to find out. there's been something there all along that because it wasn't addressed, ended up causing me further pain and suffering. Recently. having bad problems with my back and hips. Again, they say nothing is wrong. And again, I find out that there is something indeed wrong! When I go back to question them. they start saying one thing until they found out that it was a doctor within their own practice that made the "mistake" and all of a sudden, they start to back pedal, and all of the CYA moves they all love to do! When I contacted to Office Manager to try to get some answers. the only answer I got was to be discharged from the practice. Beware everyone! You never know what could actually be happening with your own bodies when the doctors in charge will flat out lie to you! Suggest that you, the patient, lie. It's a shame to miss out on great therapist because their front office staff is ill equipped to do their job. Integrity is not a virtue with this company so stay far away from this terrible place.

I was sent to Sheltering Arms due to Migraines, and very severe Vertigo. What I found out, thanks…read moreto my very attentive and caring Therapist was so much more. Were it not for her caring and in depth knowledge, I would have just slipped through the medical cracks; as I have for so very many years, and continued to have the trouble I had. My Therapist figured out that the crystals in my ears were severely spread out through multiple passages in my ear canals. Once she fixed those (which took weeks) she discovered huge problems with my balance. Through her patience and testing, I've not only improved, but I have no more Vertigo! This is all she does, this Therapist deals with Migraine and Vertigo, nothing else. I have been (and continue to go) going for over 2 months now, I am able to walk without stumbling, or bumping into walls. My Therapist found out that the 2 nerves in each ear were devastated, due to a medicine I was given back in 2012 to save my life. Sometimes the cure comes at a price, that price was my balance. Thanks to her, I will be seeing specialists regarding my ears and my Migraines. My Therapist also evaluated the 3 types of balance that we all have; eyes, legs, and inner ears. All three of mine have been affected in one way or another, however my eyesight balance has made substantial improvement as well as my leg balance. I am truly grateful to all of the friendly and helpful staff at Sheltering Arms. They are kind and caring people, who give to people like me, far more than they realize. I am never tasked with anything that is beyond my reach, and it is a safe environment to get stronger. My Therapist is cognizant of all of my limitations both there and at home, and she has made me feel comfortable and safe telling her anything regarding my health. She truly has gone the extra mile for me, as far as her knowledge, and her innovations to my therapy program. I would recommend this facility to ANYONE! My mother was cursed with having Covid and ending up in the hospital, but incredibly blessed with the staff and the care James River Home Health provided! Steve, Kelsey, Sarah, Jane, and our amazing nurse, Danelle were patient, caring, professional, flexible, and so well informed!
