After I had my baby early in an emergency c-section, Beth helped with all manner of things I usually did, cooking, food shopping, dishes, laundry, bathing kids etc. She took stellar care of my newborn so I could rest. However, Beth's knowledge and expertise went far beyond that, she was an incredible source of knowledge about newborns and their development, and breastfeeding, which was really hard after a c-section. She also taught me to use an electric breastpump, and how to store and use bottled breastmilk. Beth's knowledge about c-section recovery was also super helpful, I was totally uneducated and didn't know what to expect, do, or not do. She also helped with my other child and step-kids, which is an enormous task. Beth was calm and supportive throughout a very chaotic time and helped me learn so much and not feel alone and overwhelmed. I have no idea how we would have made it through without Beth. I truly cannot say enough positive about this doula. I found Jessi during the pregnancy with my…read moredaughter. The pregnancy was an emotionally difficult time for me and overall negative experience, and I struggled with very bad anxiety that something would go wrong. I had a horrible experience with my first doctor where I felt completely mistreated and downright bullied so I fired this doctor well into the 3rd trimester, as I realized i did not want to see her again or have her deliver my baby. Throughout this, she was such a source of peace to me, always there to listen or answer questions and supported me as I found a new practitioner at 35 weeks. At that point I took the only doctor in my area who would take me so late into the game, and although they were better and more respectful than the first doctor I saw, they still were not like minded to myself- they were very medical and intervention minded, and I have always known I wanted a natural birth with no intervention unless absolutely necessary. Switching doctors so late, not having a close relationship with my provider, and also working with someone who i wasn't on the same page with, it was SO great to have someone who I felt was there for me to really support me and who I had developed a relationship with. When there was something I worried about, Jessi was always there with a quick response to reassure me, and to listen; she has a calming way about her. She also always had tons of resources and referrals (for instance my baby was breech until the 11th hour and she provided me with resources and exercises, and by the birth she was headdown). Jessi was also so helpful, supportive, amazingly valuable to have during my birth. Honestly i do not know how i could have gotten through an over 30 hour labor trying to be as natural as possible, without her support. She truly went above and beyond for my husband, myself and my family. The contract was for her to be there 24 hours, she stayed with me for the whole time which included being up all night by my side, which was way beyond what we had agreed upon. She helped my husband to better support me (initially he was not in favor of natural birth or a doula and he has changed his mind and now says he would tell any couple who is expecting to get a doula). He got to rest a bit, which was needed. Also at times when the doctors were rude or pushy re: interventions in my labor, she helped me to think through things and advocate for myself. Although my birth wasn't fully according to plan I felt that Jessi helped support me to make decisions etc. in the moment and I feel overall good about the choices I made in birth given the doctor and hospital I was at that wasn't on the same page as myself... I was extremely nervous going into the birth and she was such a peaceful, calming presence to have there. Also i am very scared of hospital and medical things in general and probably acted in unexpected ways because of that during my birth, and i never once felt judged by her for that... She also updated my mom who was also very anxious about how things were going throughout the experience of my labor probably keeping her from having a heart attack :) ... all in all Jessi is an amazing, talented doula who you can tell truly does what she does from a place of passion and a heart for women in pregnancy and birth, and I would recommend her to anyone or hire her again in a heartbeat.

From start (first prenatal visit/birth planning) to finish (postpartum visit) she was nothing short of amazing!! We connected right away. My husband is nonChalant with all the fatherly "need to knows" when it comes to birthing haha; but Shah made it easy for him to understand and participate. He became more hands on and enjoyed her teaching methods. Very well experienced and Great with communication flexibility understanding reliability attentiveness and reassurance. Teaches and explains everything you need to know that will help you every step of the way of the pregnancy/delivery/postpartum/lactation stages. As a first time mom, The birthing experience with her was very empowering. At the start of surges (39 weeks 3 days) we used the techniques we learned and managed to stay home until The surges were close to 5-7 minutes apart. by the time I arrived at the hospital I was already 6cm!! Those labor surges were something else but with all of the non-pharm techniques she provided and coached us, with a huge those of encouragement, I was able to birth out a beautiful 8.2 pounder baby girl (Emmanuella ) naturally!!! She stayed until I was all good and baby was good. We reviewed everything including breastfeeding over the postpartum visit via zoom, which was very helpful physically, mentally and emotionally.
