Heather Nicole met and exceeded all the expectations we had for a photographer on our wedding day. Let's start with the worry of whether or not we were going to click with our photographer. Especially for a wedding, your photographer and you as a couple have to click. They have to listen to what you want, write it down/remember, keep in touch throughout the planning process, get what your vision is, be able to make suggestions that go with that vision and make you feel like they'll get all the photos you want so that on your wedding day you don't even have to think about it. Heather Nicole definitely did that for us. After the initial email with her when we hadn't even officially hired her yet I could tell getting along with her and trusting her to do what we wanted would be a breeze. Heather is so sweet and personable and honest, I don't see how anyone could not get along with her. Once you work with her, you feel like you've known her forever and it's like working with an old friend. During all the emails and phone correspondence that we had you could tell that, even though she does this every day, she is genuinely happy for each couple individually and connects with each couple differently. She never made me feel like we were just another client. I remember one phone call in particular how excited she was for the surprises I had planned for my husband and wanted her to get good photos of. Again, it felt like I was talking to a friend about it. My husband and I were thrilled with all of our pictures, both our engagement and wedding photos. They were all so easy as Heather tells you exactly what to do, where to stand, etc etc and the photos come out nothing short of perfect. I am a bit of a sporty tomboy so I wasn't sure if I would match up to the feminine approach Mr. Black was suggesting. Not only did he help bring out my feminine side but he helped me feel proud of my femininity and to feel accomplished. The pictures he took were absolutely breath-taking. I couldn't believe that these pictures were me! I couldn't stop looking at them... every part was delightful in every way. I wound up giving these pictures to my now-husband for a wedding gift and he was VERY, very pleased. Additionally, Shawn Black is a very down-to-Earth and personable professional. He provides a comfortable, easy-going vibe when you meet with him and makes you feel insanely comfortable when he is taking photos. At the beginning of wedding planning, my husband and I discussed hiring a videographer. I thought…read morevideographers only provided you with long videos of your wedding day that you would watch maybe one time and then likely never watch again. We decided that this was an expense that we would forego for our wedding. However, a couple of months into wedding planning, my sister introduced me to the idea of wedding highlight videos. I fell in love with the concept - a short 5 minute video, easily shareable, that captures the feel of your day. After watching some of these videos, I obsessed with the idea of hiring a videographer. But my husband was still not overly impressed - he doesn't like to see himself on video. Plus, we had heard horror stories from a friend whose sister's videographer was all up in their business all day and made people pose for an overly refined wedding video that didn't capture the feel of their day at all. So as the months of wedding planning went by, I continued to watch strangers' highlight videos and cry at the beautiful films. I wanted to hire a videographer so badly, but I didn't think we could fit this into our budget. About a month before our wedding, I searched online and found the site Thumbtack. I had never heard of this site before, but it lets you customize a request for professionals of all sorts, and then the pros will get back to you with a quote based upon your request. I submitted a request for a wedding videographer on a whim, and that's how I found Films by Andy! I watched a few of Andy's highlight videos online, and they seemed to be just what I was looking for, and Andy's quote was less than half the cost of the other pros I got quotes from! I quickly set up a time to meet with Andy, deciding that I would pay for the videographer myself, I wanted one so badly, and Andy's prices made that possible. My husband and I met with Andy, and he was so incredibly friendly. We decided to hire Andy for our big day, and I am so happy we did! On the day of the wedding, Andy arrived right on time, and he was so unobtrusive that I barely noticed him there. He was also so nice that my father made it a point to tell me how friendly Andy was. At one point immediately following the ceremony Andy told me he was capturing some really great footage. He seemed so excited, it was so nice to see him genuinely care about the work he was doing. Andy provided us with an amazing highlight reel only 2 weeks after our wedding! The video is everything I could have hoped for and more. It incorporates scenes from our whole day - getting ready, our first look, family portraits, our ceremony, and the reception. He worked with the DJ so that he could pipe into the audio so that you can hear part of our vows. And he used our first dance song in the video for a special added touch. I cannot express to you how much I love this video. I have watched it over and over again, and it still brings tears to my eyes. My husband, who was so conflicted about hiring a videographer, loves it as well! He even tells me about how he watches it while at work, so not only just when I make him watch it! I also asked Andy to capture as much as he could of special moments throughout the day - as much as he could of the ceremony, our first dance, the toasts. Even as a single shooter, Andy was able to capture all of these special moments. We now have the entire ceremony to watch whenever we would like! He even captured some unexpected special moments as well, like the first look and the cake cutting. And we are able to share these special moments with our friends/family who were not able to make it! They are so great! I am so happy with my decision to hire Andy as our videographer. He was such a pleasure to work with. One of my friends has already hired him after seeing our highlight reel, that's just how good he is! Thank you Andy for doing such an amazing job!

At the time I wasn't planning on hiring a videographer since we were paying so much for our photographer I figured why bother. But when I saw my friend's video I knew I had to hire Andy. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I was instantly obsessed and sent the video to my friends and family, most of whom did not know my friend. Everyone was in tears and in agreement about how wonderful the video was. Also, I was at my friend's wedding and i never once noticed the videographer. He just blended right in! There was a shot in her video of me doing her bustle and I never even knew that was being filmed. I contacted Andy the same night as I saw my friend's video. He is so super friendly and responsive. He was very accommodating to us since we were so busy with wedding planning. We met via Facetime since we were too busy to meet in person. He went over what we wanted in detail. I was never once worried that anything would go wrong with Andy. I got my video about a month after my wedding and it was worth the time and the money. It was even more amazing than I thought it would be. Everyone who has seen it is impressed with how artistically done it is. I could not be happier.
