I called 2 recommended local garage door service companies but got no answer or return call! After a quick Google search turned up Allied, I called (this was after lunch on a Friday afternoon). Immediately Sabrina told me she would come over to check out the opener to see if it needed repair or replacement. She was there within about an hour, and while the news was what I expected (the poor old thing was original to our 30 yr old home so I figured it would cost quite a bit to replace) she was so helpful! She advised that i buy the opener system from Lowes or Home Depot and then have her crew instal it to save us over $100 on the job. If I could give this Business O stars I would. I had a technician come out today to fix my garage. It was not lifting. I didn't know what was wrong with it. My appointment was between 1-3. He calls at 9am. No biggie. I left a key with my neighbor. Technican tells me on the phone what the problem is and was not sure if he had parts. Did not quote me price at all. He calls back to tell me he fixed the problem and it's $450 dollars. Girl in the office won't provide an invoice.I'm heated. It's more to this story but beware. Stay aware from this company. Their tech came to my home to fix my doors and decided that my pets that have their own air conditioned area, food and plenty access to water, are groomed monthly, and receive monthly flea, tick, and heart meds- in my garage were living in inhumane conditions and called the city of Tallahassee to investigate. The city not only did not find any violations, but concluded that they liked that they had their own air condition in these hot times. Allied, please tell your employees to mind their business. We will never use your services again and customers, think twice about using them if you don't want them in your business. Oh, and yeah they fixed our broken garage door after Allied installed them two years ago, yes two years. read more

Disappointed with service we received from Allied exactly 1 year ago. The service provided was a double spring replacement for our garage door. We unfortunately found out today that the springs don't match and we were forced to replace them using another company. As a business owner myself, I am disappointed in the shoddy craftsmanship and lack of integrity the worker provided. I feel as though this intentional lack of care or regard for my family's safety, as well as our property (vehicles) was offensive. I sent an email to the owner asking for a refund, and for them to address the situation. They unfortunately declined to respond. I do not like to give bad reviews, but this company opted to ignore my email and had no interest in righting a very terrible wrong. read more

Our new home had the garage doors installed approximately 9 months ago. The springs naturally lost some tension and under warranty, Lee came out and adjusted the springs on both doors and reset and checked the movement of each garage door. He also gave me an excellent recommendation on a particular lubricant to use (3 in 1 Garage Door Lube) that reportedly leaves a gel residue that helps keep the doors working well and provided advice on how to properly use the lubricant. I paid for my garage unit to be replaced. Recently, I was experiencing difficulties opening and closing my garage door. I called Allied and was told it would be $93.00 just to look at my unit. I called a second time and described that I could see metal on the belt pieces appeared to be falling apart. I was told it would be $275.00 to replace the tracks. Tired of the back and forth, I called another company to take a look at my garage. When the repair technician arrived he's stated that I had a new unit on a old ( t-track). The initial technician from Allied installed my unit without changing the tracks. In the box we found all the compatible part, snap track, belt, a bag of unopened screws. I recall asking the initial allied technician why I had so many leftover parts. He stated that I did not need them but, I should save them. Who installs a new unit without the new parts? I paid for my whole unit to be installed. I incurred a bill for 85.00 for a job that should have been completed by Allied. My repairs were completed on 11/19/19, Allied stated they would get back to me and I've not heard a word. read more

Years ago, I asked Allied Doors to install and attach a motor for my heavy garage door. At the time, Jeff gave me a heads up that the door itself and its tracks were not in the best of shape and would be fine for a little while, but may cause problems down the road. He was right! When the door recently began to stop short of completely closing, and even came off its tracks a few times, Jeff returned to take a look. He actually remembered me and my home, and made suggestions. Today, he came out to install the new (insulated!) door and tracks, and made sure everything would work manually if ever I needed to lift the door during a power outage. The price was far better than I expected, and the service was attentive and prompt. (I was told he'd be here before 10am today, and he arrived just before 9:30am!) WARNING: DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN PERIL I was told that a technician would "service" my malfunctioning garage door opener for a cost of $95.00. [Sometimes my garage door opener would not activate when I pressed the remote or the wall-mounted switch.] When the technician arrived, he did not examine or inspect my garage door opener, let alone "service" it. Rather, he sprayed some WD-40 or similar-type lubricant on my garage door's rollers, using my ladder no less, and handed me an invoice for $95.00. The only reason I paid it is because he told me that such amount would be credited toward the replacement of my garage door opener should I wish to replace it. I called Allied Doors several weeks later and received a quote to replace my garage door opener, which I was assured reflected the $95.00 credit. To make a long story short, I never saw anyone from Allied Doors or my $95.00 ever again. They strung me along for over 2 months, never giving me a straight answer, not returning my phone calls, and never calling me back when they said they would. It was the worst customer service I've ever received from a company. Because I was in the process of selling my house and time was of the essence - which Allied Doors knew full well - I finally had to take other measures to remedy the problem. So my garage springs break and I call these guys to come fix it(my first mistake). The guy came fixed the door without first telling me the cost and hands me a invoice for $250; I pay him(my second mistake). I told a family member(my aunt) and she told me I overpaid. After consulting several other companies in the area, I find out this typically costs $175 to $200. Furthermore I find out a new garage door opener system costs at the most $300 and if you buy from sears installation is free. So my aunt calls the people asking for a bit of discount on the same day. The guy calls me and yells at me for no reason and tells me to call him on the coming Monday so he can "cool down". I call Monday and the person who answers says she'll call me the next day. Its been over a week and I haven't heard from them. My experience with this company has been horrible; they are OVERPRICED and have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. All I can say is go somewhere else; save your money. read more
