The technician demanded cash ($300) to get the needed springs. We should have ended the deal right then. He returned the next day and installed the springs and collected another$300 via credit card. The door was working but making a terrible noise. he said he could fix that for more money. We declined. Today the side of the door that did not have a problem is totally torn apart and the door doesn't work at all. We suspect the wrong springs were used and have called another company to fix the mess.

The short is we got a total runaround and after nearly a week they cancelled. The phone sometimes redirects you to a different company in California that has no idea what Crabtree is. I think Yelp probably should take down the reviews for a mechanic because this company is getting a lot of stars that they aren't earning.

Two months later my door came off the tracks. I called the number on the Kelly's website, and the cell's voicemail directed me to call their office number. The gentleman on the phone, who they call "Crusty", was super helpful. He asked what the issue was, and told me a maximum amount of money I should expect to pay, which was far lower than I thought it would be. The next day, Kelly showed up to look at my door. He got it back on the tracks, but had to order a new main spring for the door, which was going to take less than a week with their parts arriving on a Tuesday. He would not take a check until after the parts came in and were installed. Sure enough, Tuesday morning at 8:24am, Kelly calls me to tell me the parts are in and he should be at my home in one hour. Wow. He arrived, installed the parts and the door works great. The cost was about half as much as Crusty quoted me, which was a nice surprise. I also ordered the weather seal to go around the outside of my door. Once again, the price is a fraction of what I thought it would cost and he won't accept payment until it is installed. He will install this next week and send me an invoice! Do business with this company, you won't be disappointed.

Alvarez Garage Door Services came out yesterday and replaced my garage door opener that had stopped…read moreworking, and adjusted the torsion spring in order to correct the balance of the door (an unbalanced door is a safety issue and makes the opener work too hard). Andrew first suggested that replacing the logic board in the old opener could fix it, but I decided to have the opener replaced since it was nearly 21 years old. After rebalancing the door, Andrew removed the old opener and associated hardware (rails, safety sensors, wall control) and installed the new opener and hardware. He took his time in order to do a good job and was never in a hurry to finish quickly and get going. He made adjustments to the door tracks to make sure the door operates smoothly and took extra time to make sure the safety sensors will operate correctly and the door motion will not shift them out of alignment. Andrew did a good job, was friendly and patient with my several questions. Would have no second thoughts about hiring him again. I had called him Tuesday afternoon and he told me he was booked up for the next day. As it wasn't an emergency that was fine with me. He called Thursday morning and proposed a time but I had a conflict so we agreed to Friday morning. He texted me a heads up Friday morning and arrived a bit earlier than he said he'd get here. The new opener is quieter than the old one and the door operates more smoothly and quieter after the adjustments made by Andrew.

He calls at 9am. No biggie. I left a key with my neighbor. Technican tells me on the phone what the problem is and was not sure if he had parts. Did not quote me price at all. He calls back to tell me he fixed the problem and it's $450 dollars. Girl in the office won't provide an invoice.I'm heated. It's more to this story but beware. Stay aware from this company.
