After a scramble to learn the options, I chose the path of swapping out the cooling unit. I had been to Country RV previously and like the vibe I got there, so called to see if they could handle replacing a cooling unit. They said yes, no problem, and quoted me a price and time frame. They had to order the cooling unit, but once it arrived they got my trailer in next morning and had it ready that afternoon. I allowed it to remain overnight, however, so the technician could monitor the new cooling unit, which he was happy to do. My fridge was back in business then, and continues to work as well as ever as I write this in August. This was the first time I've ever put an RV in a shop, and I am delighted to report an excellent experience. They did exactly what they said they'd do, and the price was perfectly fair.
