My vehicle has very low mileage, a great economical vehicle that has been well maintained. However, I only had liability, high probability the insurance would not cover my vehicle. The other vehicle, which came into my lane, left the scene. I was attempting to avoid a head on collision. No witnesses! Four days passed and my adjuster had not been in to see the vehicle. The local junk car dealer told me Eli's would be charging me a daily $20.00 storage fee; he was deducting that amount from the price he was offering me. With that information, I quickly decided to move the vehicle to a friend's house and wait for adjuster. When I arrived at Eli's, to meet the tow truck driver, I couldn't see my vehicle. I went inside looking and asking for my vehicle. I was very impressed with the staff. Even though the staff knew the vehicle was going to be totaled, they had moved my vehicle to a covered area because it was raining. The staff was protecting the interior of the vehicle. When I went inside the office to take care of the bill, they did not charge me for storage. All I paid was the wrecker fee. I was quite impressed with the staff. I was charged for the 3 year battery however after calling their auto parts supplier the Fix It Shop was able to rectify the situation. They gave me the choice to keep the 2 year battery with a refund or swap it out for a 3 year one. Since the battery was already installed I opted for the refund. I love having transmission problems... Said no one ever…read more After 89,000 miles, the 6L80 transmission in my 2017 Suburban decided to say "Bye Felicia." Since transmission problems were unchartered territory for myself here in New Braunfels, I did not have the first clue where to take our high maintenance pavement princess. Not knowing any better, and against my better judgement, I had my Suburban towed to the local Chevrolet dealer. After receiving a quote higher than Willie Nelson, some friends of ours recommended Brinkkoeter Transmissions. With nothing to lose, other than another tow bill, I called the tow truck and had her towed to Brinkkoeter. Just after a couple days, and our wallet a little lighter, our baby was back on the road again. Backed by a guarantee better than the factory with a 3 year/100,000 warranty. Doyle also informed us that the dealer had probably neglected to tell us that our particular transmission had undergone 6 software updates that GM had failed to notify us about. This probably will be the last GM product I ever buy, but I digress.... The customer service was top notch, the communication was great, and the overall experience was great. They also saved us a lot of money compared to the dealership. While I hope I never have to use Brinkkoeter ever again, I highly recommend anyone who needs transmission work. They made my pain a little more bearable, and had me back on the road again quick. Apparently this place has been around a while and I had never heard of them until now. Enjoy!

Took my car here recently to get it looked at due to coolant and overheating problems. At first…read morethey told me it was the thermostat, so they replaced that and said " they bled the coolant system, and ran a block test". When I came to pick up my vehicle, I asked directly what the problem was and they said now it was a head gasket. I asked how they could tell because the car sat at the shop for two days !! First it's a thermostat, which didn't even need to be replaced then all of a sudden now it's a head gasket !! They never even drained the coolant system, and never refilled the coolant. I took it to O' Reilly Auto Parts to get a second look, had to use a whole container of coolant to fill up the radiator. The head mechanic is a liar and will take you for your money every time. When I asked about the diagnosis, he lacked complete punctuality and professionalism and told me that he wouldn't fix the car and told me to leave! He denied that it was never properly looked at or even fixed. They charged me $250 for a thermostat that didn't even need to be replaced and for tests that were never done. Beware of this place, don't go here !
