AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE: Do not take your online real estate education courses from this company. It is a scam. They charge you $67 for all the classes but if you fail one of the tests twice, they charge you $50 to reactivate your studies per exam failed. I was taking my test and had an inspector from the city arrive and had to walk away and failed. I called and no one answered. I am now live chatting with the agent. Here is the message I received: "You have reached the maximum number of exam attempts allowed for this course. This course has been marked as failed. In order to receive credit, you will need to re-enroll and take the education over from the beginning including passing the course final exam (fees apply)." Here is their response when I live chatted because no one answered the phone: "Unfortunately, we are not able to apply an exam reset per the state's requirement. We do have a one-time discount available for re-registrations. If you would like to take the course again to complete your Real Estate Pre-Licensing Education, we can assist you with getting re-enrolled for a discounted price of $50.00 for each course. I attended Allied Business Schools back in 2011 I tried to call and get my official transcript come to find out the school was bought out and im now being told they dont know how to get my my transcript. So I payed you guys a bunch of money and now cant even get my offical document? Look elsewhere do not I repeat do not give these guys your money. IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE INDUSTRY BEWARE This review is for the online MLO pre-licensing course. I wish I did an in person class instead because I failed my NMLS twice already, 1st time was 68 and the second time was a 74. The material is very boring. No video lectures. It was just read and take a test at the end of each section. Lots of reading. I also didn't receive any books. A paper textbook would have been very handy. I come from a nursing background, I had no trouble passing the NCLEX the first time! I think that since I come from that background, the new material is just so foreign to me and is going to take longer than 20hrs/14days to comprehend. I purchased an exam prep course from affinity real estate and that is an amazing class so far. It is too confusing and does not provide clear directions on the courses you need and so forth. So I ended up calling them and talk to Soledad Lam. She was wonderful and sweet! I signed up for the California Mortgage package which is a dual program for real estate and MLO. I'll get the negatives out first Negatives: I didn't like the format. I think for someone who is new to the industry or not used to an outline format such as this (You're basically reading powerpoint slides) might be overwhelming especially if you are in mixed company (current realtors, former LOs etc.) You are trying to retain alot of information re: laws, regulations ,etc every two days before the next section begins. If you went to college and used to cramming, this is basically what it's like. A test is given at the end of a very long section plus an assignment. I think a quiz should be given after each short module and then the larger test, then of course the final at the end. Positives: I took the MLO portion first which is an instructor-led course. The material is pretty detailed, they give you alot of materials. The setup is similar to a blackboard (at college): PDFs ,flash cards, etc, discussion board. Professor was engaged at all times. Because I didn't like the format, I asked for a refund for my real estate portion. They gave it to me minus registration, pro-rated, no questions asked. The format is just not for me- it might be for people who like to study alone, I think I need to be in class. I passed the courses with an 88% overall and so now I will begin studying for my SAFE exam but will be using other resources for the exam prep. read more

I used Allied to fulfill my CA Real Estate broker continuing education requirements. The online class program has a very confusing layout/platform. The flow and organization of the class syllabus, schedule, deadlines and directions are not easily conveyed to the students. The customer service department seemed bothered with my questions and didn't seem concerned with what I had to say. I felt like I was talking to a very inexperienced work force that was just getting by. No professionalism or tack exercised by the reps at Allied. I called several times to discuss or clarify the assignment guidelines, email clarifications, teacher explanations and the confusing layout and all times it ended in an argument. Most of the time the customer service people talked over me and displayed a highly cocky attitude. No more Allied for me in the future. read more

I've been interested in Real Estate for quite some time now. I have been doing my fair share of research for weeks now and looked up different schools to see what works best for me. UPDATE: received a call from educational support who walked me through everything. The call was friendly and warm, and they helped me in resolving all my questions and concerns. I still however think the workbook and video lecture should correlate more efficiently. Small overlooked details may cause someone to fail. If we're talking state specific vs national, this should be mentioned in the state specific portion. I did fail the first time, which is why I left the original review. After I received a call from Allied and she kept me on the line until I fully understood the material, I felt more content in passing the second time around, in which case, I did. Tips for future test takers: The best thing that worked for me was creating my own 150 question online practice exams and the flash cards! Seriously, get flash cards. If you understand the terminology in the question, you'll easily get the answers correct. Don't be too concerned with the math portion, or rather, don't let it scare you. Both times I sat for the state exam, not one question involved any sort of calculation. Still study it though, you'll need to know the concepts in the field! Lastly, as for the lecture and workbook having flaws, I'm most certain they will be soon corrected if they haven't been already. Allied takes pride in everything they do at the school, they are the Harvard of online real estate schools and I'm sure after my last post, printing was halted and thus, corrected. If you're investing in your career and just getting started as a salesperson, or if you're a veteran in the business and going towards your broker license, don't sell yourself short - purchase the full multimedia package and definitely make sure you get flash cards! The online support was very weak, it was the typical buy the books buy the course and good luck, i'd have thought the person selling the product might just be a Broker his or her self and will assure you not in this case. I completed one of eight books and was frustrated due to the fact I was in fact a licensed RE Broker in 3 other states! The following month I made it a goal to complete one book per month as I also recall there was a 19 day period was required between books. For many of you new to this business the 'normal' state has reciprocity where as all of us know our trade but not the local laws so we take a 100 question law test which took 2.5 hours. Note all states use the National Association of Realtors Contracts with a couple additions to it which fit the territory your selling in. These course books where more about the; NAR, CA and the RE Commission paying the authors to include nonsense so as to help in eliminating/reducing competition to the BIG 5 Real Estate Companies. These authors purposed 1 word in 50 as being useful! I'd further express that these writers were in fact given guidelines as to the number of pages necessary to qualify this as a course, I spoke to one of the course book representatives, so in fact the authors where literally paid by the word. Normal broker book was 800 pages with about 27 chapters of useful information. These books had 25 chapters 24 of which could have been eliminated! PS: if you bypass the propaganda good luck in passing the course! Now get ready to also pay for the crash course because its a must to pass this course. Keep in mind from my 12 years as a Broker experienced in HOA, Property Management, Selling, Buying, and representing numerous clients in many different types of transaction the California Brokers are the least professional and highest paid per transaction that these eyes have ever met. Try asking one if they have acquired the following ABR,SRS,SRES, GRI, Inspectors and Appraisers as well as 25 + other courses and designations. Note; this is the first step to others such as will you certify as; Graduate Realtor Institute - GRI or Certified Property Manager - CPM or General Contractor - GC/B or Buyer Rep - ABR or Sellers rep - SRS or Senior Real Estate Seller - SRES and the annual dues connected to the above. Worst service if you do not want to feel ripped off I suggest going else where. I have been calling straight for 5 weeks even emailing and none of the "very best associates" ever calls back or knows what's going on with my contractors application. All they say is our supervisor is looking into it. But speaking to a supervisor is literally impossible. I worked very hard and put my self in stressful situations to pay for the course and it has gotten no where. I would never recommend this school or service like this to any one. read more

I registered for the RE CE course I breezed through the first 2 courses, which covered 12 hours of the 45 hours needed. The remaining courses were ready to be opened and could have been completed the same day as well Good thing I paused and asked the online chat at Allied if it was OK if I completed all of the courses in one day. This was our conversation online: You are now chatting with an agent. Agent: My name is Sarah. How can I help you today? Hello, I just purchased the RE CE course for California I already completed 12 hours of the 45 hour course But I wasn't sure if there was a maximum hours allowed per day Agent: That is an excellent question! Let me check and make sure. Agent: There is no limit for CE courses. I'm only showing limits for pre and post license courses. So you are fine to keep working on them if you would like OK got it. But when I upload all the certificates on the DRE website, and all 45 hours of CE were completed on the same day, there won't be any issues from the DRE? Agent: No there will be no problem! OK I will resume the courses then. Thank you I still felt uneasy about being able to complete 45 hours of education in one day. So I called the Department of Real Estate to confirm, and they said that I had to wait 6 days before I can take an exam, and definitely that all 9 exams could not be completed on the same day.
