For the amount of money we paid for this relocation, the overall experience with Allied Van Lines ultimately resulted in frustration and disappointment with what is supposed to be a major, reputable national carrier. When a customer spends more than $20,000 for a cross-country move, there is a reasonable expectation that the process will be well coordinated, transparent, and supported by clear communication. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Our shipment was unexpectedly divided into two deliveries, with a large portion of the remaining items later classified as "overflow." This concept and the implications associated with it were never clearly explained during the sales process, nor were they described in the move packet and other documents that we reviewed and signed before the move. After the fact, however, this "overflow" designation was used as a justification to reject claims that were submitted in good faith. From a customer perspective, it is extremely frustrating to learn about important operational terms and limitations only after an issue arises. Beyond the contract language itself, the communication during the move was inconsistent and often unclear. Once it became apparent that the entire shipment would not arrive together, there was little proactive guidance about what that meant for us as the customer. There was no clear explanation of the implications of an overflow shipment, what items might be delayed, or what actions we should or should not take if essential items were missing. That lack of clarity put us in a position where we had to make reasonable decisions on our own, only to later have those decisions scrutinized during the claims process. The delivery process also created unnecessary confusion. With multiple movers arriving across two different deliveries and no consistent inventory list provided for both shipments to check items as they entered the home, it was extremely difficult to track what had arrived and what had not. For a large national moving company, this process should be far more structured and customer-friendly. The claims process has added to the frustration. Several of the claims we submitted were rejected for reasons that appear tied to operational terminology or conditions that were never clearly disclosed in the documentation we signed prior to the move. That lack of transparency undermines trust in the process and leaves customers feeling as though the rules are being applied retroactively. Given the circumstances, I plan to continue pursuing reconsideration and corrections to the claims that were filed. I also intend to raise these concerns with senior management within Allied so they are aware of the issues encountered during this relocation. Customers paying a premium for a national carrier deserve clear contracts, consistent communication, and a fair claims process when problems occur. Worse moving experience ever. I have moved to different states 5 times and this was a horrific experience. Damaged items were extensive including a cracked live edge table. Did not assembly a secretary with a cabinet. I did not check and it fell on me while unpacking. Missing Canadian Goose coat. Packing was horrific. Everything thrown into boxes. Only decent packing was kitchen. Showed up at 10am everyday and left at 4:30-5pm. 3rd packing day they came at 10am and left at 2pm. Stretched out the packing days. Could have finished in 2. My wife used Allied Van Lines for a corporate move and it was fantastic. There was some damage but it was minimal and they settled fairly and quickly. Fast forward 3 years - Allied outsources to Ray the Mover. Terrible service from the get go. On pack out date they yell at my pregnant wife. Ray the Mover did over $7000 of moving damage and offered us only $1K. We paid extra for "Extra Care Protection" and they basically fabricated reasons not to pay for damages to our goods. Ray the Mover damaged various expensive pieces of furniture of mine, including birthday gifts from my husband. Despite paying for extra insurance coverage, they refuse to take accountability. Google review for Allied I hired Allied Van Lines to move my belongings from NY to LA. My stuff was in storage with them for 2 months. When my belongings arrived, I had over $20,000 of damaged and or lost items. I filed a claim and they sent a check for $1767. The reasons they claimed they wouldn't pay on the damaged and lost items were ridiculous. They claimed I packed one of the pieces that they destroyed but they had packed that particular piece. The driver stood on my antique hutch and yanked a table leg until he broke it. Several pieces had water damage and they refused to pay on some of the items that had water damage. The driver yelled at me and accused me of putting liquids in his truck. Turns out they pressure washed the truck before he left NY. The driver didn't let me see the paperwork until he was ready to leave. He shoved it at me and demanded that I sign it so he could leave. They are claiming that I signed off and everything was delivered. There's several boxes missing. They left about 20 boxes outside. I had to move them inside by myself. I have cancer and am in stage 3 kidney failure so I can't do lots of heavy lifting. That's why I hired them and paid an outrageous amount. I was sick to my stomach to see all the damage. I've moved many, many times and have never had stuff get damaged like this. I paid them over $14000. I hired an attorney and he has filed suit against them. Their first offer was $3500, I turned that down. They came back with $4000 and they want all the damaged items. I turned that down. So they won't even pay for half of what my stuff is worth and they want it. What we thought would be an easy move has turned into a nightmare for my mother. She is paying over $12,000 to be moved from one state to another and less than a week before her move, she is told Allied Van Lines does not have a driver. The local company she is dealing with is going to pack her up and then move her stuff into storage until Allied can find a driver. Absolutely ridiculous! She set this up 2 months ago and now they can't tell her when a driver will be available. She is moving to another state and will have to live in an empty home until Allied figures their stuff out. After speaking with a manager today, he thinks it will be delivered the 29th but can't guarantee that. Completely unacceptable. If you do not have drivers, do not have people sign a contract with you when you can't fulfill your end but still expect them to pay you $12,000+ for your incompetency. I do not recommend this company to anyone. My mother's custom furniture will now sit in a warehouse until Allied can find a driver which they can't give us a timeframe for. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. The customer service is worse than anything I could ever even think to have to deal with. They showed up and packed our stuff. To start with it began what I thought was going to be an easy move. The packers stole some of my wife's antic kitchen gadgets which we did not find out till 6 months later after the pack. I contacted them and they said call the cops. The ruined our Stainless Steel fridge in the move and I purchased the extra insurance. But because it was delivered to a storage facility the insurance meant nothing because they said anyone could have done it because it was delivered to a starboard facility. On the day of the estimate they came and made a guess on home much the stuff would way. I told him we would pack some of our stuff which we did about 35 boxes before the pack. The driver shows up the day of the load and says this is not on the count and I explained that we packed some of our stuff and explained my conversation with RT the estimator. He said he did not care and he needed to call the office and tell them that he had unaccounted for stuff to load. The estimator then called me and started yelling at me telling me that they were going to unpack what had been packed in the truck if I did not let them weigh the truck and pay for the actual weight and not what the estimated and gave me on the quote. This is the day we were moving out of the house and the buyers were moving in so I had no choice but to agree. After the stuff was delivered to the storage facility they called the next day for payment I said don't process the credit card you have on file I will give you a new card let me talk to a manager. They tried to process the card three times which flag the card and cancel the card as fraud and left us stranded with no way to get gas to get down to our new place without going to a bank and getting a new card. They broke several things in the move and teaks refrigerator so many things it was uncountable and because it was delivered to a storage facility and we were not available to be there they took no liability and accounted for nothing on their end. I got told sorry you should've been there. You company did not discount me anything what you are referring to is the fact the day of the move we had packed some of our belongings and placed them in the garage with the other stuff you had packed. Then you driver shows up and tells me that I should have spoken to him first so he could have cut me a deal to bring items that were not on his pack list and tell me he has no choice but to call the office and report me. The Ronnie call me yelling at me telling me I have TWO choices either they take my stuff back out of the truck and I find someone else to move us our stuff or now they will weigh the truck and I will have to pay per pound instead of the original estimate. He also said I am never wrong on my weights. So at that point being you had me in a corner what was I supposed to do. I also paid for the extra insurance which was NULL AND VOIDED because you delivered to a storage facility. My stuff was delivered in the pooing rain and all of it got wet. My fridge was ruined and I was told sorry no insurance because it was delivered to a storage facility. The driver told me to leave that there was no reason for me to stay there at all and assured me that all would be ok. But that was not the case. Going back to driving to even meet up with the driver to let him into the storage facility I received a call from your billing department and asked them not to run the card they had on file that I wanted to give them a different credit card. They said sure no problem. I then pulled over to get gas because I was 45 minutes away. My card had been turned off by my bank because you billing department ran my card not once, not twice but three times. Which my bank flagged it as fraud. I then called my bank and once the card is deactivated they have no way of turning it back on. Being the only card in my pocked at the time I was left panhandling for gas money to even meet up with your driver for almost an hour begging for money when I make 6 figures a year. YOU LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF COLORADO BEGGING AT A GAS STATION FOR MONEY FOR GAS......... There was no discount at all on this. You hiked your price up for no reason when we told Ronnie on the day of the estimate that we would be packing some of our own belongings and threatened to throw our stuff out of the truck if we did not comply with weighing the truck by the pound and paying whatever the cost you determined it be. read more

We used Allied's moving services to move from NC to WA and I can say with confidence that Allied is the worst moving company. Avoid their services at all costs. They lost and damaged almost $10k worth of our belongings, took forever to process our claim and have refused to pay any reimbursement for what they lost and damaged. They somehow dumped gasoline on one of our pieces of luggage and our couch cushion covers which effectively ruined the couch. They claimed there is no proof this was moving related! We handed them a perfectly good couch in NC and they gave us a gasoline soaked mess in WA... How is this not moving related?!?!?! They also lost a box full of my wife's dresses, business attire etc. The interesting thing is this box was the only box of ours they packed, and it is just a little too much of a coincidence this was one of the few items that went missing. I believe they are a bunch of thieves. Additionally, at drop off, two of the movers were extremely unprofessional. I was not there, but they were demanding that my wife (then 4 months pregnant) help by moving heavy boxes out of the way to make room for incoming items. I had my items moved from NY to NC by Allied Van Lines. I was promised that everything would be shipped carefully and packed professionally. This was not the case. On the first day of packing, I had several very unprofessional staffers in my home who, when disassembling my cabinet, had broke it right in front of me. I was told at the time that they would definitely find a company to fix the cabinet. Not only did they not find any company to fix it, but not all my goods were delivered to my new home. Some of the items that were delivered were terribly damaged, such as a cherry/oak dining room table which had several large gashes through the top of the wood that can't easily be buffed out. They broke glass doors for dressers as well due to bad packaging, and lost a lot of my items including two large ladders that cost upwards of $300. I had signed up for $60,000.00 for insurance coverage for any damaged or lost goods, and while I'm now trying to seek compensation for my damages and losses, I'm being denied. This company is definitely unprofessional and I highly recommend you seek another company. Unfortunately I sought the low-cost movers and I'm definitely getting what I paid for.... LIED to us about all our boxes being accounted for and convinced my husband to sign only to find out we were missing about 20 boxes. one star rating because ZERO stars isn't an option. started out well with this company - they sent an agent who looked over our household items and gave an estimate, they arrived on the day & time and loaded everything onto the truck, they delivered to the storage unit (CA to NC) on the day & time. It wasn't until 6 weeks later, when we'd bought a house and moved our things out of storage that we realized our filing cabinet, micro wave oven and a box of books (Harry Potter - the entire series in hardback!) are missing; one dresser drawer is broken, and there are scratches on the TV cabinet. Filed a claim for damages; it was denied because we signed for "everything" when it was unloaded into the storage unit. (Really? was I supposed to check mark off each and every box and item as they unloaded? that would have slowed things down by about 2 hours). Also, they dis-assembled several items - our bicycles and some storage cabinets - and did not reassemble them upon delivery, plus the threads on our bike pedals were stripped and we had to buy new pedals.
