EMERGENCY TOILET...MM62 The perfect pit-stop for a weak bladder while driving on Alligator Alley. Plenty of parking but lots of low emission and handicap vehicle spots and no EV spaces. The rest stop has several gender neutral bathrooms that were clean but very basic equipped with a baby changing table that looked more like a white medical gurney. The park surrounding the bathroom facility had covered pavilions. A few soft drink and snack vending machines also. read more

This is a nice rest area from driving and also a great place to take in some Florida history. There is an elevated walkway over some swampy water areas to see the wildlife. Alligators, birds, and maybe even some fish.There is an indoor area with restrooms and vending machines. While inside, there is plenty to look at and read about the Florida development through the everglades. Good for all ages, and there is plenty of parking for cars, buses, and trailers. The restroom facilities are average and not really updated. They were somewhat clean, but there was no attendant around if things were not satisfactory. read more

This rest stop is right near mile marker 62 so that would def help you if you are stuck on the side of the road. Anyways! I love this rest stop and I usually go to this one to stretch my legs after a bit of driving in the car. This rest stop has a couple benches under an overhang so you are able to get a little food in your system while you enjoy the weather without having the sun beating down on you. While you are sitting and relaxing while stretching your legs, you can read a little bit about the different animals you may see while you are here. They have a few boards that show different information and photos of the animals as well. Any time that I have stopped, there is never trash and the place always looks like it was just recently cleaned. Aside from a few tables with an overhang, there is not much else here, but you are also able to get close to the glades and go on a little hunt, sometimes you get lucky and see some massive alligators! It is one of only a handful of rest stops along the alley and I think that if you want a good little quick leg stretch, you should go to this rest stop! read more

Very clean bathrooms also feel safe in this area. Strategically placed so when you need to take a tinkle it's right there. very illuminated and not far from the exit I'm a happy camper. Have some things about the Everglade lots of exhibits and information on all the creatures that are out there.So if you have to tinkle stop there and read up on the stuff that's around the area plenty of parking spaces too ,Great place to take a nap if you need to. read more

We really needed a peaceful outdoorsy day and decided to take a drive to the Everglades. We really wanted to take in just the scenery and listen to the sounds of all the animals. After hurricane Irma a little peace and quiet and appreciation of mother nature was a good calling. We pulled along side this rest stop,pulled out a chair and while he threw in his lure for fun I walked around looking at the alligators swimming by (some were following us due to people feeding these gators..not a good idea people), read the informational boards that were posted then pulled out a seat and just watched the waterway. After about an hour or so we then drove down to the next rest stop where we got to see some guy seeing the strength of his air boat by really pushing the power on it,cool moment but loud as heck! Later we drove down to the next stop where there was a memorial outlook post that was placed high in the sky and really let you capture a panoramic view. They had even more post about how they try their best to take care of the Everglades and had pictures of some of the animals you can spot while viewing. It was really a nice day. The sun was beaming but the wind was a swaying and the views were beautiful. Peaceful Sunday. Would definitely recommend everyone to just take a drive one day and just get lost and take the scenery all in. read more

Re the REST STOP AT MM (mile marker) 62 We drive across Alligator Alley frequently to visit family on the "West Coast". This time we needed a "Rest Stop" about halfway across, we stopped at the NEW rest stop at MM 62...we've watched this being built as we previously drove by, this time it is completed. We had our 2 dogs with us and were happily surprised to find that they have built a fenced dog walking area.with benches..wow, how nice, very dense grass and divided it small and large dog areas NICE Thanks.... read more

This is just one of many everglades rest stops that we pulled over in hope of seeing a live allligator. I recommend everglades swamp tour if you want to see alligators. But if you have never driven through alligator alley, I would at least do it once. read more

As far as rest stops go, this one is always clean and has a great selection of vending machines. I love that it is out in the middle of nowhere, so you really start to feel the separation from where you're going where you're coming from. The only reason I did not give this place four stars, is for the confusing twists and turns that you have to navigate through to get to the right place. For a moment, you could feel as if you went the wrong way. I would also make a suggestion to the staff, to set up a Wi-Fi location. It would be very convenient for travelers, who have already been driving for half an hour without a stop in either direction. It would be a nice place to stop and recharge your phones, as well as your tired bodies. read more
