I feel a bit bad giving the whole company a…read morelower star rating over one experience, but I do think Taxi companies can learn from reviews to give their drivers guidelines on how to offer a better experience, so here goes. I jumped into a Diamond Taxi a few days ago on St Laurent near Prince Arthur around 11pm after an event. The moment I got into the cab I regretted my choice, but by then it was too late and we were off on a 30 minute rocket ride together to the suburbs. The music was blaring and the driver didn't say more than 3 words to me during the entire ride, but he did sing along at top volume. Under different circumstances I totally would have enjoyed this, but this time I had a headache which was severely exasperated by the not 1 but 5 air fresheners hanging in the car, and the jolting way we dashed through traffic. No bueno.

Taxi Champlain appears to be the company with the most cars around Montreal. There was almost…read morealways a Champlain car at my hotel and if you needed to call for one, the driver was there in less than 5 minutes. The Champlain drivers were courteous, helpful with loading suitcases and knew their way around very well. They also all spoke English as one of the taxis I took in the rain ended up being something else with a driver who not only did not understand English but was rude. Cars were clean and are mainly Buick Allures and Toyota Camrys. They also have brand new Siennas for groups of 4+

We couldn't get through to speak to a human so by 830am we had to put my mom in the back of my car and rush to her medical appointment. It was extremely painful and uncomfortable for my mother. We had no follow up by HOCHELAGA TAXI AT ALL! We will never use or recommend this taxi company to anyone!
