4.5. This was such a unique experience! With food that unique looking, it is hard to imagine that it would taste so wonderful as well. But wow! This place truly blew us away. There were so many unexpected bites, and the presentation was amazing. The service was very attentive and suave as well. It was quite the experience! I will start with the welcome appetizer. This was one of our favorite parts. It was seven different small plates each with a unique presentation and flavor. There was a 'Caesar salad' in Caesar's head, a small sushi roll, a tiny guacamole taco, an amazing marshmallow covered in cheese, pasta 'Al dente' served in a tooth, a steak ball covered in red gelatin, and some chicken served in a glass chicken. A few more other things. Each was just a bite, but they were all so unique and delicious! My favorite was the tomato with cheese and bacon served in the 'skillet' and the marshmallow. My husband's favorite was the beef bite. For our appetizer, I got the carbonara reduction and my husband got the won ton raviolo. He loved the won tons. The carbonara reduction was so creative and delicious. I did not take a picture unfortunately but it was all the ingredients of carbonara in an actual egg, but without the pasta. It was delicious! The whipped pecorino was amazing. We got bread next. This may have been our least favorite part. It was not bad, but definitely didn't stand out. It would be difficult to amongst all of the wonderful things that we had! For our main course, my husband got the Roman lamb with a savory beef pastry and I got the capelliti with saffron and lemon sauce. The capelliti was delicious! The sauce was outstanding, the pasta was perfectly cooked, and it was amazing that they had somehow gotten a marvelous broth stuffed inside the pasta. Delightful! The lamb was also perfectly cooked, but the pastry is what really took our breath away. The bread was amazing, the beef inside was cooked perfectly and so flavorful, and it was just such an outstanding mixture of flavors and textures. One of our favorite parts for sure. Next they brought out on a whisk edible plastic filled with some sort of pie crust(?) and a lemon flavor. We were a little taken aback by how to eat it, but the plastic was indeed edible. And it was delicious! Dessert was next. My husband got the tiramisu, and it was a sponge cake with coffee. It was very light and tasty. I got the carbonara reduction and it was probably my favorite out of all I had gotten. It was a fabulous presentation. The waiter explained what we had ordered, and as he explained he all of a sudden grabbed the white chocolate egg and cracked it on my plate. It was surprising and a fun touch! The filling of the egg was simply incredible. It was a lemon filling with the 'yolk' as a different fruity flavor. The texture was very very light and creamy and was not overpowering at all. It was truly delicious! Next they brought out a post-dessert that consisted of a pina colada ball on a banana, a small pastry on a carousel, a fruit gelatin, a marshmallow covered in coffee, and a chocolate peanut. Our favorite of these was the pina colada ball and the pastry on the carousel. All were fun and yummy. If you are in Rome and wanting a fun and unique meal, definitely try out this place. All of the small plates were unexpected and a treat, the atmosphere of the patio was beautiful with all of the greenery and romantic, and the service was great.

Having eaten at other Michelin star restaurants I was excited to try All'Oro, sadly this was not up to par. The staff was AMAZING very friendly, eager to answer questions and provide suggestions, can't complain. Overall, the food was good, but the whole tasting menu was very poorly balanced which felt very heavy and with some dishes that felt just unnecessary. I really loved the potato tiramisu and the carbonara, which was not only really rich in flavor but a very different take on it. Presentation was really nice and different and that I really enjoyed, but would not consider this a true Michelin Star restaurant.

Searching for finer dining while traveling through Rome, our group knew we wanted to try a Michelin star restaurant in one of the food capitals of the world. We made reservations for 5 and a toddler. Our party opted for the prefix menu that contained an array of well crafted and presented bites! The chef presented the food in a unique manner, conceptualizing childhood fun into an edible experience. The wine pairing also perfectly complimented the menu. I can't emphasize how visually stunning the spread was. I would 100% recommend this restaurant (book well in advanced).

If you're looking for an expensive but creative meal, definitely come here. Making reservations was simple, you can do it online. We decided to do the tasting menu. I will say, the creativity is here! Really impressed with the way the chef came up with this menu. Check out my pictures, every course is photographed. Some flavors were really great, some were just not for my palette. This is a very expensive meal. I understand that a lot of thought goes into the menu, however,a lot of the menu is bite size. Personally, I feel like it's overpriced. Even if it is a Michelin restaurant, bite size food really shouldn't be costing so much. Service is good. The servers were really quick on bringing out the next course and explaining what we were going to eat. Aside from the cost, the only other complaint I really have is with outdoor seating - there are a lot of mosquitos! Conveniently, this restaurant had bug spray for their customers. However, my thought is, why don't you get plants that will keep mosquitos away? The entire outdoor is covered in plants and greenery. Now I know, you can't get rid of mosquitos entirely but any attempt would've been great instead of constantly having to use their provided bug spray. Overall, it was an okay experience. Would I recommend this place? To be honest, I don't think so.

this was our first stop in rome and I was especially excited because it has a star ! unfortunately, I was disappointed by both the food & the service. I have to give points for the amazing presentation of the appetizer items that come with everyone's meal. I like the flexibility of the restaurant in that you can order a la carte or chefs menu & they were pretty accommodating for someone with a gluten allergy. their food in general was too heavy and dairy forward for me. also, our waiter was fantastic but the sommelier's stand-off ish demeanor threw us off & made the meal a less than comfortable experience. I would recommend trying out a local spot instead if you are in the area!

When in Rome. Dining at this Michelin star restaurant was something I have been looking forward to throughout my entire Europe travel tour. When first approaching All'Oro, the head chef Ricardo himself let us through the gates as we arrived right at opening time. The service was mind blowing. From the beginning we felt as if all the attention was directed toward us, almost a little too much, where we were asked questions from the chef himself, we're seated in a beautifully decadent basement dining area where the dark contrasted heavily with the pop of the plates we were given. The Starting gift 5/5 My party and I were mind-blown upon the arrival of 7 mini plates, each with the perfect amount of portion for a flavorful bite or two with my party of 3. The first thing that stood out to me immediately was the plating. I have never experienced such creative and contemporary styles of presentation at a restaurant. There was a tooth filled with pasta to symbolize how "Al dente" (spin with "dental" ) the pasta was. Another example is the white porcelain chicken that contained a delicious Lilly pop chicken bone. Although some of these dishes were more memorable than others, each provided a unique burst of flavor, nearly impossible to process coming from such a small portion. My favorite was the Sicily inspired eggplant cannoli. Appetizer 5/5 Tiramisu of potatoes. This was my favorite plate of the evening. Flawless presentation as a cappuccino, even complete with chocolate dust upon it. But when you dig in, you find a buttery layering of creamy potatoes, pork, and melt in your mouth cod. Mind blowing and done to perfection. Pasta 4/5 Ravolini stuffed pasta with duck ragout. Honestly didn't absolutely love this plate, the duck did not stand out, the red wine reduction and pasta itself stole the show, very well cooked and flavorful. Still great. Really liked the cappelletti "dry booth" the other members of my party got with truffles. Meat 3/5 Rocher of Oxtail. Perfectly well done meat within a ball beautifully plated. I am a little bias against red meat but thought it tasted good, which is definitely a sign. Similar taste to Lamb. Dessert 5/5 Insane must try sponge cake tiramisu, surrounded by a wall of marzipan. Not too sweet and the perfect texture. Best tiramisu I personally have had. One of my girlfriends favorite desserts so I have been an tiramisu aficionado as of late. Overall, cannot complain about much. The service is what made this a clear 5/5 for me. The interactions I was able to have with chef Riccardo di Giacinto were very telling of the individualized experience we received here. The bathroom also has a slow sliding door which is an insane must see. Great first Michelin experience.

This one was in between a 4 and a 5 star review but what was 5 star was the service and the chefs welcome assortment. We were with a couple that wanted nice wine but at a lower price point than a restaurant at this level usually has to offer. The wine sommelier was very patient and gracious asking all four of us what type of wines we usually like and taking time to find the best options at their lower price point which was much appreciated. The chefs assortment of appetizers as the welcome was a full course in itself. It was playful and fun while still feeling upscale. We all enjoyed ourselves. The pasta truffle dish was amazing. The rest of the dishes we had were good - but probably what had me leaning towards the 4 star side of things. Then, the chef brought out multiple desserts in a playful set up similar to the chefs welcome which was an unexpected treat. Overall, a wonderful meal.

    Fifth course

Our experience here was not great. We ordered the 9-course tasting menu. It all started fine, the small appetizers were nice and had some surprising tastes. However, after the appetizers we got into a rapid fire of courses, 45 minutes after finishing the appetizers we were already at the 5th course. At the 6th course I tried to ask if the tempo could be brought down, as we couldn't even remember what the last course was, due to the speed at which the food was served. When asked the question, the waiter seemed to panic to the kitchen, but it was already too late, the 7th course was served within 3 minutes of us finishing the 6th course. After this, the staff waited almost half an hour until the pre-dessert was served, by just placing the plates on another table. All in all, our whole evening at All'Oro was just 2,5 hours from beginning to end. The service was also not very nice for a michelin star restaurant, our glasses were filled with water only during the first 2 courses. Furthermore, after the first course the staff never asked if we were satisfied with the experience. When we got the petit fours after dessert, I had to ask if i could order an espresso, but the staff didn't even bother to ask my girlfriend if she would have liked some coffee too. Conclusion: wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The food was just okay, could have used some more surprising elements. The service was definitely not up to par for a michelin star restaurant.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

You can pair your dishes with an aperol spritz or mini bottle of wine for less than five euros. The pasta was about nine to eleven euros and the portions were more than plenty. The chef and owner are super nice and very informative about their dishes. If you are a fan of spice you have to try their chef-recommended dish.
