I personally couldn't taste it over the sauce on either the BBQ pork or the chicken Inasal. And would have been happy with just regular rice. The lumpiang was meaty and everything I look for in a crispy spring roll. The dessert options area also great. Not sure if its seasonal but they had a slice of coconut (buko) pie in their fridge. Whole buko pie need to be per-ordered and picked up on the weekend. They also have leche flan and ube cheesecake for a sweet treat. Only street parking is available for this establishment so be prepared to circuit around the neighborhood several times before finding a spot.

Because I tend to like stronger flavors, however, I think the garlic rice could have been more garlicky (I know many other Filipino restaurants actually have garlic cloves in the rice for consumption). The lumpia came with a classic dipping sauce (vinegar with raw onion bits). The taste of the chicken was perfect to me. Overall, the portion sizes of the 2-3 people shareable plates were good too. So after some searching during my recent trip to Vancouver, I ended up at Klasik Inasal. While the shop is on the Main Street, it's small so it can be easy to miss. There's about 4-5 tables inside and when we arrived in the late morning on a weekday, it wasn't too busy. There's a lot to choose from on their menu. We went with the sizzling Sisig, longsilog, and tortang talong. All pretty good with quite generous portions! I'd order it again. Prices were reasonable as well. In fact they've got some great lunch combos if you're looking for an affordable meal. The one thing that could be improved is service. It wasn't bad but I got the wrong rice than I ordered and I kept asking for a mango juice but never got it. No big deal though, maybe they were just having an off day. Another note: they do have a restroom available, it's just separate from the actual shop (at least when I went). The staff will direct you!

I thought the food was not bad. Somehow I never really stepped into the restaurant until recently. The restaurant always looked empty compared to the other two restaurants next door. Due to Covid-19, the place was set up for just take-out. There was a sign indicating 10% off the cooked dishes for take out. It was mostly pork dishes with only 1 beef dish, and fried fish. As I am not very familiar with Filipino dishes, and there were no signs indicating what they were, I had to ask the staff. The person was not very forthcoming or friendly in letting me know what the dishes were, and I was the only person inside the store then. I quickly placed my order. I was not given the 10% discount, and had to ask to check if it was still valid. It was. So either the staff forgot or assumed the change would be the tip. I really dislike it when staff are presumptive in this. I rather be the one to tell them to keep the change or something. Much as I will like to continue supporting them during this period, I think I rather go back to Plato (2 doors down) where the staff are always very friendly and patient.
