I was so excited to find a Filipino place on the North Shore. No longer have to cross the bridge for Filipino grub! This is a tiny store run by a couple. Very charming and personal service. It seems they have regulars who know them well. First of all I'm very excited they have breakfast items every day. I ordered a sweet pork (To Si-Log) with fried egg and garlic rice. Loved the flavour of the pork. The pork belly with pancit was spot on. The crispy pork belly reminds me a bit of a Cantonese roast pork - similar style of pork, fatty cut really juicy and with the Filipino flavour. The pancit was OK. Not bad but not as good as at Pampanga's. Note that this is not the same as Sisig though. I loved the garlic rice. Wonderful flavour. Fish was good too. I would definitely go back just because it is local and I love Filipino. Great couple who runs this place too.

We were visiting from California and we were craving Filipino food. We saw this place close to our airbnb. We ordered a variety of their silog dishes for takeout. Everything was delicious especially the lechonsilog. The staff was super friendly and nice. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Vancouver.

Food is very tasty. Be aware, Filipino food is typically greasy and involves eating lots of rice. Please do not enter if you are into "eating healthy". Now that we have acknowledged this is not the place for those looking for "gluten-free" and "healthy eating", let's talk about their food. It is delicious. I don't even know where to begin. I'll talk about a few of my favourites: Dinak -dakan- this dish is a pork dish with purple onion cooked in coconut milk and ginger. DELICIOUS! The purple onion nor the ginger overpower the taste. Dinugu-an- this is pig's blood. You don't the pigs blood, it's also pork. Delicious. Best w/ garlic rice and eggs. Lechon kawali: pork dish. The skin is so crispy but not too crispy. It's just right. The meat is tender and oh so tasty! Best w/ rice and eggs Lumpia: this is pork egg roll. It's our kid's favourite. Our kids like to eat this by itself Pork BBQ is also our kids favourite Oh! Toron! For dessert! Toron is Banana Wrapped in pastry wrap fried with brown sugar. Mmmm! It's crispy and tasty delicious. LOL! Our family are frequent visitors here, if not take out for dine in. Please note!!! IMPORTANT! They don't accept credit cards. Cash or debit are the only form of payment.

I first discovered this restaurant one night while at the Shipyards Friday Night Market. They had a food stand set up selling a few popular Filipino dishes. One taste of their prata and I knew I had to check out their restaurant. Their tiny restaurant is tucked away among a few other businesses on a quiet street. Because of that, the owners rely on nearby locals as well as word of mouth (and Yelp!) for their business. The place is fairly small with a handful of seats. The few people that came in while I was eating did takeout. The owner was really friendly, taking the time to talk about the region of the Philippines of the various food they prepared. It's an up and coming restaurant that, with time, should do well given the authenticity and delicious flavors of the food. I like that they had a selection of prepared food to choose from in addition to items you can order from their menu. In addition to the prata (had to get that again) I sampled a few of their prepared dishes such as sisig and something else I just can't remember how to spell. Bottom line was that everything tasted great. Their prices were very reasonable too. I'd say this place is worth checking out if you in the mood for good Filipino food.

Not as good as the last time we came. Food was good overall but service fell short somewhat…read more Came here with family. We all ordered our own individual dishes. I just had an Original Gimbap and a Vege Gimbap for myself. It was a hot summer's day so I just didn't feel like ordering hot food. Everyone else ordered hot food though. My daughter has been getting into Tonkatsu at Japanese restaurants for awhile now. So when she saw Chicken Katsu on the menu here, she decided to give that a try. It was just OK for her. No comparison to any of the pork Tonkatsu dishes that she's been having at Japanese restaurants. She still ate it all up though and it was a huge portion. Other dishes on the table included Seafood Noodles, Pork Kimchi Stew, Soft Tofu Stew, Fried Chicken, and Kimchi Fried Rice. My one gripe would be that they took a super long time bringing out my daughter's Chicken Katsu. Everyone else had their food for quite awhile but she sat waiting and waiting for her Chicken Katsu. When we asked about it, they said it was coming soon. But that's what they always say when you ask about something that's taking a long time to come, right? Wondering if they actually completely forgot about it and then put in a rush order at the kitchen when we brought it up.

It's over fire on a hotplate/pan with the meat all around and kimchi in the middle. Perfect with rice or on it's on. The Japchae had plenty of beef and veggies. The potato noodles weren't overcooked and was a great consistency. The seafood tofu soup was favorful with clams and mussels. The raw beef was too frozen and needed to sit out longer. However, the flavor was still good, but I don't know if I'd order it again. The service was excellent and attentive.

I just had a side order of 2 buttermilk pancakes cuz I knew that my daughter wouldn't want to eat her eggs, so I would end up eating the eggs for her. Also...finally got around to trying their pie this time! Bought 2 slices of Lemon Meringue pie to bring home for an afternoon snack. Whoa...the meringue is sooo high! They left the box lids open cuz the meringue is really way too tall to be able to close the box. This pie was sooo good. Some of the best Lemon Meringue pie that I've ever had. Reminiscent of the Lemon Meringue pie that we used to get many many years ago from Saskatchewan Pavilion Restaurant that used to be at Park Royal Shopping Centre. Somewhat taken aback to look at my bill and realize that they charged me $2.25 for a hot water and lemon. Should have seen that sooner. My bad for not checking the bill sooner. Don't know there's anything much I could have done about it if I had seen it sooner. I think it's quite ridiculous though. I do see hot water with honey and lemon on their menu for $2.25 but I never asked for honey. I just asked for hot water with lemon. If I'd known they were gonna charge me for that, I'd have stuck with bottled water they put on our table for free. Still love this place regardless of the $2.25 charge for hot water and lemon. Will make sure not to order that again next time. I was ever so sad to hear recently that Tomahawk restaurant is for sale. This place has been a favorite of ours for a number of years now. There have been a lot of restaurant closures in the last few years but this one really hits me hard cuz of the sentimental attachment to it. Guess I'll just pray that it takes a long long time for anyone to buy it!

Plenty of beef slices and enoki mushroom. I really have to recommend this dish. Also had a pile of their skewers. Taiwanese sausage, chicken gizzard, and 2 flavours of wings. I think the only thing stopping them is the rather "bad" (not too visible) location. The 5 star rating for dinner remains.

The second time there were clams and lamb neck? The things that were the same: tomato egg, dumplings, steamed baos, chineze fried donut, and cold dishes like bean sprouts, smashed cucumbers, tea egg, tofu dessert. They also have hot soy milk for drinks. Their deep fried chinese donut has got to be the best I've ever had in my life. With the price of a pair of fried donut being over $6 these days, I get my fix here. Other things are standard, good but not outstanding. I really like having soy milk to drink instead of water. $18.88 is getting a little steep for a limited choice buffet with not too many meat choices. The crab/clam are a nice addition but if there are days without it, it wouldn't be worth. I would rate the food from this place higher than the similar chinese lunch box style place in richmond, K squared mansion.

A Gastronomic Awakening in Chinatown! You don't truly know…read moreuntil you go--and now that I've been, I'm haunted. As I write this, I am literally still dreaming of the Hong Kong Style BBQ Pork. It didn't just "eat" well; it dissolved into a decadent, sweet, fatty puddle of pure bliss. Walking in, the vibe is quintessential Chinatown: a bustling counter, a glass case showcasing glistening roasted treasures, and a seating area that trades fancy decor for pure, functional authenticity. We were clearly out of our element, probably looking like deer in headlights, but the staff met our confusion with warm smiles. Then came Bobby--the absolute heart and soul of this place. We walked in expecting the standard American-Chinese routine, but Bobby whisked us away to a cozy table and treated us like family. He started us off with a fragrant jasmine tea so naturally sweet and floral it didn't need a grain of sugar--perfect for a biting winter night. While we flirted with the Happy Hour menu, Bobby took the reins. You don't say no to a man with that much charisma and passion! On his expert recommendation, we pivoted to the Two-Meat Combo (BBQ Pork + Soy Chicken) with a side of their famous Roast Duck. The food arrived in a lightning-fast 10 minutes, but the real treat was Bobby's play-by-play on how each dish was prepared. You can taste the pride in every bite. The balance was masterclass: a symphony of sweet, salty, and umami. The meats were succulent, the skins were shattery-crisp, and the glazes were perfectly sticky. The undisputed heavyweight champion, however, was that Hong Kong BBQ Pork. Imagine the best "burnt ends" of your life, drenched in a caramelized, mouth-watering sauce that demands your full attention. We left Chinatown BBQ feeling more than just sated--we felt enlightened. If you're looking for a "one in a million" meal, let Bobby order for you. You won't regret it.

We waited about 10 mins for a table on a weekend around 12:30pm. #1- blood sausage and organ soup: you can choose the spice level for this one and we went with mild. Probably could go for medium next time. It came bubbling hot and was served with rice. The soup was flavourful and comforting. The blood sausage was wrapped with an intestine which is something I haven't had before. So this was unique. The organ meats were tender as well. Seafood pancake: on the pricier side but I can see why. It was served piping hot and super crisp. It had plenty of seafood and even glass noodles inside. Again, a unique touch. The pancake was not sought at all and the seafood inside was tender. Banchan: kimchi radish was solid and refreshing. The fishcakes were marinated in something different than other places and was tender. Very delicious! The last banchan I'm not sure what it's called but it's also kind of a pickled onion and veg sort of thing.
